Enable Celsius units on weather app without having to change distance to kilometers Ionic/Versa

Currently the ionic will only  display Celsius units when the distance unit is in 'kilometres'. It would be great if the ionic weather app displayed Celsius units regardless of the distance unit selected .... E.g, miles .

I have just purchased my Ionic and it is a little disappointing about the temperature not displaying Celsius.

Hi PF

yes its very sloppy coding and a very bad sign of what may come if fitbit ever deliver more apps for their "smart" watch.

However after 2 weeks using mine I do like most of the core features, especially when linked to strava. I really like the ability to add my routes to my google map and also compare times when I do the same route.

Maybe Fitbit will get their act together and use "proper" analysis before starting their coding. For a small fee I am willing to help them out ....

This needs to happen for this watch to make sense in the UK. It’s a rushed lazy to simply assume temperature units with distance units.

As a UK user I agree with all the above. Linking temperature with distance seems perverse.

Hi Ridgers

All here agree that this is just bonkers for those of us that live in the UK. However as no one from fitbit has even popped by to say hi in this thread let alone suggest that they are even thinking of making a change I guess it will be a cold day in hell before anything gets done.

So I guess we just have to accept that they care not a jot for the UK market, we clearly don't form part of their global strategy and our business doesn't fit in their commercial model.

Pity .......

Another vote for this.  The weather app is useless to me unless it can be changed to Celcius.

That’s an interesting idea and could be useful, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

How can you sell an item in a country when you cannot support the units that country use

It would be great if I could have my Ionic set to miles rather than kilometres but still see the temperature in Celsius and not Fahrenheit. Thanks

Living in the United Kingdom, we use Celsius and Miles. The software needs updating to allow for these to work together, which presently the do not...

If you are going to sell a 'Smart Watch' for over £200, a little thought should have been given into being smart..

Can we address this asap

*Not sure if anyone has brought this up, but it not been done as i updated my software and nothing..

Well at least a moderator has at least read it now .....

You have a lot of UK customers, I don't understand why this was not considered in design. I'm also not sure why you would have distance and temperature linked?

All Fitbit are interested in is money making and not the upkeep of their products. There are minimum updates and not any of these address the major issues, especially the none compatibility with major brand phones and updates for English units.

I doubt very much we will see anything in the near future.

It’s a shame as it’s not as if we in England are wanting anything that other manufacturers are willing to supply. I think if I was aware of this simple issue before I may have thought twice about buying the watch .... except it was a gift so it makes it difficult

So here we are on Fitbit OS2 and the big changes are now you swipe down for notifications, big wow!! I can't believe how long it's taking Fitbit to fix such an issue, no other major manufacturer would take so long to resolve such a design oversight. This will definitely be my last Fitbit device, fantastic hardware let down with poor software and support.

Couldn't believe this when I found out. Just lazy programming and a blinkered US-centric mindset.

"Could be useful" I'm sure every British user considers it essential. This should be a fix, not a feature request.

I have recently updated my Ionic to the new firmware which has created some new shortcuts etc., but still no option to select temperature preferences. There are a lot of “votes” for this option, which have been reviewed by a Moderator. Having previously purchased a clock face with a temperature display on the main face, which is currently of no use to me, I would really like to know from FitBit whether they actually intend to take this request on board?

This should be a feature and a bit disappointed that it’s implemented the way it currently is, puts a dent in my new Fitbit.

(only upgraded from HR2 today)

On Ionic, to get temperatures displayed in degrees Celsius, I have to change distance units to Kilometres in Advanced Settings. But I want to see my pace and distance in miles. Please add temperature as a separate unit, in the Units menu of Advanced Settings so it can be set to degrees F or C independent of what distance units are set to. Thanks

Hello @ligrlomk, I think just like you. Having this option in the Fitbit Ionic would be awesome, let wait other users leave their comments and votes!

This is ridiculous, this isn't a "feature" request. It's a bug report!

The fact someone chose to group temp and length into a single config toggle is the issue. Poor coding choices doesn't make it a "feature".

More worrying is that Support has apparently been aware of this bug since August without getting it fixed. And their response is to point us here.
