FitBit support for Android Wear devices

Please add support for Android Wear devices to the Android Fitbit app like you did for the iPhone 5S and HTC One M8. 🙂 The current Android Wear devices (LG G Watch & Samsung Gear Live) all include step counters.

I'd just like to voice my support for FitBit in the Android Wear arena. I love the community and analytics from FitBit, but if my friend's and I can't use the devices of our choosing, there's every incentive to find an alternative that supports all of us.

I can't do half the things on a FitBit tracker that I can on android wear devices, and the power of the Wear platform is almost limitless. Fitness trackers and proprietary smart watches are like PDAs. They will never hold up to a platform that allows diversity among manufacturers and app developers. I want to see FitBit survive and do well in the "arms" race.

Just bought a Huawei watch. Love Fitbit, and would like to use the two in combination (HW at work tracking steps+phone notifications and Fitbit at home for exercise and sleep tracking). If Fitbit doesn't add soon, I'll just have to move to something else...

I would be willing to go back to FitBit Premium if I were able to have app integration with my Moto360.  I only use my Aria scale, and my Flex sits on my nightstand, I no longer use it. Please add step tracking, even if it is limited to premium accounts.

I would pay so much for this if it was the next tracker they released.  I have been wanting a android watch pretty bad, but so far haven't been able to justify moving away from the supperior fitness tracking of my charge HR. The blaze isn't really compeling to me as it has pretty bad watch faces (there are tons of useful and cool ones for android) and it can't integrate with things like Sleep As Android.

Is there any update on this? I have 3 Fitbit devices...but I recently purchased a Huawei Smart Watch with Android Wear and I would LOVE not to have to wear my Fitbit device at the same time. Someone else mentioned paying a premium price to push steps from the watch to Fitbit to sync. I agree with that and I suspect that makes it more appealing to Fitbit. I hope something is in the works.

I've been manually adding the steps recorded on my Huawei watch to the Apple Health app to add them to my Fitbit totals. I wear Fitbit at night for sleep tracking and during exercise, and the watch the try of the time. It would be much better if they would sync directly, but it doesn't seem like Fitbit wants to invest time/money in compatibility. Which is unfortunate, because if I have to choose one over the other, I'll choose to keep my watch...

I was going to post the same thing - exactly. Fitbit's' expertise in step tracking, HR monitoring and great battery life would make for a superb android wear watch. I think it would be "the" watch.

It would have to have GPS, and bluetooth for tunes - then all I need is the watch and some ear phones - perfect!

This way I can keep competing with my friends, and not have to switch...

or...fitbit...license your step and HR algorithms to google for their phone. or moto or lg or huawei

Just throwing in my 2 Cents. I would love to see a feature like this. I need to get steps to Vitality for my work's health program & this would be a great way to do so since Vitality seems to integrate with Fitbit better than any of the other integrations I've tried.

Currently setting up a Huawei Smartwatch and would like to link my fitbit account to this as well. Please add this feature to Android Wear compatability!

I love my Fitbit.  However, we are reaching a point like we did when we had 3 devices... MP3 Player, Contact managment/handheld computer, and a phone.   I don't want a separate fitness watch and daily wear watch.  I want my top of the line watch to do everything my Fitbit does, preferably with the Fitbit App I've come to love.  I'm in the market for a new watch, and I'm going to be forced to abandon Fitbit.  I realize Fitbit tried to fix this with their latest smart watch, but I don't care for the design and I hate to be limited to just one choice.  I hope they will figure this out soon, because I'm afraid that once I start tracking my fitness with another app, I'm going to be "over" Fitbit.

Fitbit is going the way of the dinosaurs!  You can't fix the direction in the future, the time passes fast and we don't reverse it with hope and prayers.

Adding my comments to the masses ... Fitbit should auto synch (OTA) to PC's, phones (Huawei P9 Plus) and Android Watches (Huawei) ...

I also would like to see support for synching of Android Wear trackers and Samsung Gear series with Fitbit dashboard. That way I can still use my Aria scale and Fitbit app.

I have a charge hr and want to upgrade to a true Smart watch with Golf GPS range finder built in. If Fitbit had such a device I might buy it.

As it stands now even if I want to buy a different activity tracker that means I need to abandon the Fitbit ecosystem completely since fitbit app isn't interoperable with non fitbit trackers and smart watches.

It can as simple as an interface between Samsung S Health and Google Fit. That way you don't need to worry about nuances of supporting hundreds of different devices, let S Health and Google Fit connect with those trackers then import the data into Fitbit dashboard.

Well I placed my order for a Samsung Gear watch, and will most likely either selling my Fitbit or giving it to my daughter.  I will miss the Fitbit community and doing daily/weekly challenges with my friend though.  Maybe one day Fitbit will see the value of their community as a whole verses trying to keep it so regimented with their devices like Apples does their products.  I feel a lot of people will be jumping ship as well because of this.  I would pay for an app that would allow me to sync with Fitbit so that I can still be a part of the community while using a Samsung Geat watch.

I also would be willing to pay for a premium version of the fitbit app in order to synch with Samsung and Android wear trackers.

Fitbit, this would be an opportunity to keep everyone in your ecosystem rather than forcing out anyone who wants to use the Aria scale and Fitbit apps and services with non Fitbit activity trackers.

I would imagine Fitbit is interested in multiple avenues for revenue growth and not lose people who are already using Fitbit.

I would love this feature. And would pay a premium for the app to make it work.

I sure wish Fitbit would support ALL android phones and wearables! I mean what does it cost? I can't afford to purchase a new handphone that can work with my Charge HR just because Fitbit can't put out a little cash for the licensing. You guys are making big bucks. Maybe you'd rather I purchase Garmin.... they link to all IOS & Android...

I agree! I want to see an android wear fitbit! It would be nice to have gps built in as well, if they ever introduce an android wear watch. I think having an android wear fitbit would dramatically help their fight against the apple watch. I've been researching the fitbit stock and many people say the thing that is hurting the stock is doubt over how they can compete against the apple watch. I believe this would be a huge step in silencing any doubt, and help build confidence in investors.

I personally love my fitbit and would never get an apple watch, but I worry how fitbit can compete in the long run. I understand it would probably be difficult to include android wear compatibility, the biggest issue probably being battery life. We ouldn't possible track our sleep very well if we had to take it off each night to charge it, but maybe they could figure out a work around, maybe allow just fitbit features to be enabled to save battery, while being able to turn on android wear features when battery life isn't such a concern?
