Fitbit Journal - Notes on the Fitbit app

How about a space in the app for a daily note. I would like to be able to leave a note on the daily results page. So that if results are high or low I would know why when looking back. IE: was I sick so my daily results were very low or were they extra good and for what reason? In sure folks would have lots of reasons to look back at results and would want to know what was what at that time. Ted

I've read a few of the post about adding notes within fit bit.

Being able to add a note such as I was sick on this day which is why I have 17 hours of sleep instead of 7 1/2, tried a new workout today, rain caused me to have to use the treadmill instead of my usual routine, etc.

Is the dashboard basically the same throughout the entire fit bit line?

Thanks for your time.🙂

I would like to see a notes field for each category. You could make a note that you have a stomach bug and that's why you have so few steps. You could make a note that you went to dinner with friends and ate and drank way too much, and your weight shows it. You could note that, while the app shows you slept 6 hours, you really only slept 4 but didn't move enough to show as restless.

Note was a feature on the app of my previous tracker and I used it almost every day. It is quite handy when looking back at your stats.

Please add it soon!

thanks

I do a lot of running, and this feature would come in handy for labelling a race or competition I participated in. As of now, it would only show "run", but for example, it would be better if I marked it as "Run” and underneath it “Niagara Falls International Marathon".

I too would like this added.  I've noticed when I'm spinning that my average heart rate varies. I think it's down to the instructor so I'm keen to log to see who makes me work the hardest.

I have actually wanted this feature, but as an overall day comment section. At first I wanted a comment section so that I could record the day that my period started each month, as I believe this not only affects how you sleep a night or two before it starts, but sometimes it also effects how much you eat and how much water you intake.

I also thought it would be helpful to note other things that may have affected how much or little you walked (ex: medical issues, like having surgery or being sick and staying in bed the whole day; a travel day - during international flights that are over 12 hours means minimal opportunities to get steps in; a day at Disneyland will add a lot more steps than usual for most of us). Or, maybe it was a snow day, etc. All these things can increase or decrease the amount of steps we get in each day. When we look back at our own historical data, I think it would be helpful to look at comments that would help us remember why we got so much more or less steps on specific days, or more/less sleep on certain days. It would be so nice if we could note these things in a comment section for the day as a whole, or for specific sections, like the sleep section and the exercise section.

I just emailed support to ask why no action has been taken (or even a response by fitbit) regarding adding a note section to the sleep logs.  The response was that I should add my vote to a community post, and it provided a link to the specific post.  This post was first put up in 2015.  Nice try fitbit support, but why don't you step up and tell us if you're working on this, or if you have no intention of listening to the many users who have asked for this feature.  All of my searches in the support community take me into endless loops of people making nice requests -- all with zero response from fitbit.

I have also asked a time or two but never get a response. With all the other fancy items they have added, one would think something as simple as s box for notes would be an easy implementation.

Fitbit is telling me they need more people to ask for notes sections before they'll put serious attention to developing one.  So encourage all users you're in contact with to speak up on twitter and in these community feeds.

Yes!  I very much want this especially with the new expanded feature or the Sleep Cylces.

A notes section for the sleep app, even it only had 200 characters limit, would be awesome. I am working on getting more sleep and need some sort of way to track the result - which your app does - with the medication or process I went through before going to sleep ( which your app does not) so I can tell of its a med, the furnace kicking in, the temperature, a bath I took,  the diffuser scent or what all is helping me get more restful sleep.  The main reason I bought the Alta HR was purely to assist in my sleep process. Please consider this additional feature soon.

Is there any way you can add an update to the HR with an icon for writing notes. It would be so helpful in so many ways.

A note section on app would be the best thing ever!

@brandylake, yes, I've been posting the link to this thread on posts on social media. Especially on the Fitbit sponsored ads that come up on Facebook. And asking people to vote.

This post is dated 08-12-2015. It was reviewed by Moderator Sylvia saying: " That's a great idea. This was a feature in the Dashboard before but was removed a few months ago, I hope this can be a feature soon." It scored 510 votes.

But now in 2017 it still is not a feature again!  I hope it can be part of the Dashboard in the App because I also would love to have the upportunity to look back at results and reasons for certain scores.

Thank you.

A notes section anywhere that connects to a day would be a great benefit. The sleep section works for me, but anywhere would be useful.

Notes is an important part of any exercise routine. Seems like a simple change for the app. Let's get it  done Fitbit!

Brand new user to FitBit devices and can't believe this isn't an existing feature.  I was using Microsoft Band products for the last few years and keep all my workout notes online thru their system.  With FitBit, I have to keep my comments about a workout separate.  I want to include notes for my "next" workout so that I can look back and areas I need to focus on.

I agress with everyone's comments. Many activities and their related details are not aboe to be added to the Fitbit data so they show up either on your Dashboard or on the Activies tab/list. Fitbit need to address this. They need to give the users the ability to add journals and other fields of data the users want to capture. They also need to make changes that allow the user to edit that same data if necessary.

I would love this too. If I have a night where I'm well out of usual routine it would be nice to have a note to recall why.

It would be nice to be able to tag days based on your status (injured, sick, traveling, day off, etc....) So when you look back you can see why activity, diet norms, or heart rate changed. Then some of the info tiles could suggest at home remedies, diet assistance, and possibly ways to make up for missed days. When working with doctors when you have a disease or trainers for a competition, this info could be extremely valuable looking for trends

Please, implement a new feature in CHARGE 2 so I can assess how well I feel that I slept (by a smiley-scal for example) and give statistical overviews of the differences in the length and sequence of the stages of sleep in nights that where rated as "I felt well recuperated when waking up" and "I felt destroyed when waking up".

I follow a food plan for sugar sensitive people & really need to be able to jot notes down next to each meal.  Simple things like mood, energy level, etc.  I would love to able to do this on the app please!

A note section would be most beneficial in sleep section. Upon waking (or prior to sleeping) notes like ate chocolate before bed or exercised prior to bed, or feeling a lot of pain somewhere....see how all this affects sleep to better learn about self and how to achieve better quality sleep.
