Fitbit Journal - Notes on the Fitbit app

How about a space in the app for a daily note. I would like to be able to leave a note on the daily results page. So that if results are high or low I would know why when looking back. IE: was I sick so my daily results were very low or were they extra good and for what reason? In sure folks would have lots of reasons to look back at results and would want to know what was what at that time. Ted

It would be incredibly useful to be able to add a journal entry each day. Say you look back at your steps and have an unusually high amount of steps in one day... You view the journal entry for that day and read "Dancing all night at my cousin's wedding", or "Day at the fair". I've been keeping a separate journal app for this very reason but not being able to view this along with my fitbit dashboard online, is very inconvenient. How great would it be to have these notes to look back on and remember what you had going on that day? Even on the other end... You have a day that you had very little steps... "in bed sick all day", or "forgot my fitbit at home". It would be an incredibly useful addition to the fitbit experience!

I think that there should be a field for daily notes.  For instance, I had surgery last week and show very low activity.  My Alta is connected with my insurance wellness program.  I guess I don't want to "seem" lazy.  Also, if you are ill or just forget to put it back on after a shower.  If there is such a field and I am too blind to see it, please let me know where it is.  Thank you.

I would like the ability to track significant issues or events association with a given day.  and the same with a given activity.

Please add a notes option - it is vital that people reflect on the data.

Please add - I am recovering from a hip operation and 2000 steps is a milestone but I have nowhere to record it ....😂

I would prefer a notes option as part the individual actvity that has been completed.  I refer to note the weather, the way I felt on my run or that my run for the day was a race I have been training for.

Thank you for this consideration that it may be apart of the next update!

Allow notes to be added to weeks or days. When looking back it would be helpful to be able to see. Toes detailing the week. Things like being ill or starting a new expertise or eating plan. That way when you see variances in activity level, exercise minutes, calories, weight, ETC... you can know why.

Yes, I agree - I have a Blaze and I'd love to note where I hiked and what trails I took, for starters.

It would be great if a notes section could be added to the daily log. For example, I'd like to note that the reason my steps were low was because the battery died.

I want to hugely champion this need! I have been tracking my sleep but need to show my doc how it changes in regards to some medication I take (due to a brain injury). It would be SO HELPFUL if I could notate it in the sleep log itself. Since we can make notes on our activity, it does not seem like it would be that big of a leap to add a notes section to the sleep tracker.

I'm surprised this idea hasn't had more support! I love this idea and think it's the next best enhancement to keep Fitbit in line with the health and big data craze.

When I look back on data to find trends in my activity, it would be great to know what things affected it. I could see notes on how caffeine intake affects sleep patterns or changing workout routines affects HR.  I really hope this gets implemented.

Thank you Melissa and Schm413 for your comments. I wrote this a long time ago now and wish it could get some air as almost every day I am wishing I could add a note somewhere to better manage all round health. I appreciate your input and comments and hope this is something Fitbit will implement soon!

cheers

Today I was so excited to enter my info onto my dashboard. I'm home sick(flu) and was thinking it would be nice to be able to track wellness so that I could say, 'Hey I remember why I didn't meet my steps that day' or 'I was feeling great that day and walked an extra mile!'

I'm wondering if even a short journal entry...maybe the size of a tweet...would work for this too? I just hate the idea of having to jump from my calendar to my dashboard everytime I see a drop or jump in my fitness progress to remember what was going on wellness wise on a given day.

Thanks!

I can't believe it would be difficult to provide a field to add notes. This would be useful for allergies, glucose readings, etc.

I have a Charge HR and I walk a little over 5 miles every day and usually have my 10,000 steps in by 8:30 in the morning I'm retired).  However there are times when I missed more than a couple days and then later when I look back over things I see that I had missed a number of days in a row and have no idea why.  It would be nice if we had a multiple choice response to those times so that we could mark a number of days and then use the multiple choice comment to explain why we missed that time.  It could be weather related (rain, snow, or cold and rainy, a number of choices) or you could be sick or you just tired and need to take a break.  But with this we could look at missed days and quickly see why we missed them.  Also if it is multiple choice we should be able to call up a time period and it would be able to tell us during that time frame how many days we exercised or missed due to rain, snow, etc. or if we were sick or just resting, in numbers and percentages.

I would love this too! Actually, I would just love the ability to make notes on any of our tracked items - being able to comment on my activities. So I could write things like "Struggled with hitting 5 mile mark on my run today, the humidity affected my pacing" or "Hitting 7 miles today felt super easy, will probably increase to 8 miles next time!"

I just wanted to toss in my vote for this feature too. Especially for certain types of workouts, it would be great to have the ability to enter notes. For example, I can log 30 minutes of weightlifting, but that information is pretty useless by itself. It would be great to be able to enter what machines I used, how many reps, what weights, etc.

Notes section on mobile app please. I want to note odd days when I'm sick or when I let my fitbit charge run down (oops). Please add a notes section.

It would be cool to log notes regarding our day. Example-didn't hit your step goal was because you were sick or the reason you have double you daily goal was because you walked around the fair. Maybe you could log your mood. Your mood has a lot to do with your excerise

In relation to the excercise tracking it would be usefull to be able to note things like when you purchased running shoes.  or notes on particular tracked exercises. For example I run and it woudl be good to note which kind of session it is ie Speed workout, hills, trail run etc.  I can see application for a diary area that map to most of the features of fitbit.

The addition of a veriable length field for comments would provide a way to track information about what happen differently each night but would require that the user look at each comment to determine what was difference.  The addition of a one character alpha/numeric field would allow for a significent number of variables that could be graphed on the app or exported and tracked through a spreadsheet program.  The single character could have reserved characters for A=excersised during day, B=drank alcohol before bed, C=took sleep medications, D=had sex, etc. and the rest of the characters would be user specific.  The reserved characters could be summarized anonymously to the benefit of group study.
