Fitbit Pay Adding New Bank Process

I would like to see a process for adding new banks and credit cards to Fitbit Pay. I like many other people want to have my specific bank (Community America Credit Union) added to Fitbit Pay, but I don't see any information about how to have that happen. I contacted online chat support and I am very surprised that this process doesn't exist. They led me here and that I should request a new feature to have it added. I would like to see a specific support line, email, or some form to fill out to get our bank to be examined to be added.

I am personally going to try and reach out to my bank and express my interest in the supporting Fitbit Pay, but can't even tell them who to contact at Fitbit to get any information about it.

If this isn't possible I would like to see support for Android and Apple Pay. I would have to admit I am a little surprised Fitibit didn't just incorporate these instead of building their own version.

Thanks!

For the time being you are welcome to post about the banks in here, the Feature Suggestions board. You could even support this suggestion about the bank you mentioned.

Let's see what other users have to say about it.

Hi!

So I have just received the new Fitbit versa in the U.K. This Smart Watch would be perfect were it not for the fact that the only banks supported are ones no one has ever heard about-Starling bank (sounds like something from a horror movie!) or Danske Bank (note I am in he U.K. not Denmark). Honestly I feel totally deceived that Fitbit markets the more expensive device as contactless payment enabled when only Mickey Mouse banks (sorry!) are being supported by Fitbit Pay. I personally have cards/accounts from HSBC, Barclays, Halifax and TSB - which are all normal U.K. banks. Given the amount of cards I have I never dreamt of this being a problem, especially not after the Ionic has already been on sale for 6months. At least build us an app, Fitbit, to use Apple Pay or Android Pay please as this U.K. offering  is a joke....

Please add more banks to the UK list! As previously said the UK offering is terrible! I bank with Santander UK, Santander is a huge European bank... but you only offer stupid tiny banks that no one has even heard of!

Bring able to use Android, Google, or apple pay would be a great improvement.  I have 2 major cards (Citi being one) and neither are supported by Fitbit pay. Hubby bought  me the versa thinking that they would be adding more well known card companies.

I am a veteran of the United States Navy and I can't believe USAA is not a bank with Fitbit. Seriously annoying!

Would like to see my bank added to Fitbit Pay in my country which is Malaysia. My bank is HSBC.

I agree with everyone. I bought my Versa thinking any Visa card could be added. I would NOT have bought the more expensive version if I had known my bank wasn't supported. I would like to see Community First Credit Union added, or like a previous person stated, add Samsung or Apple pay options!!! I think I am going to return my watch and go with a Garmin if this cant be done.

I’m a little late in buying the Fitbit Versa, but I waited until Black Friday sales started to buy mine. Anyways, I’d been looking at this watch for a few months and decided to get the special edition, 1) for the extra band (worth it alone by the way), and 2) for the Fitbit pay feature. I enjoy using Apple Pay via my iPhone, but thought it would be convenient to also have Fitbit pay for those times I forget my phone or just don’t want to pull it out of my pocket/bag. When I got my watch and began setting up everything, I was saddened to look at the list of banks and not see mine listed. ☹️ I bank with AimBank and would love to see my bank make the list as they support Apple Pay, and would hopefully be happy to also support Fitbit pay. So now I’m just wondering how often Fitbit updates their bank list, and what I can even do to help push my bank to the list, hence why I’m commenting here. Would be super grateful to be able to use Fitbit pay!

I am completely blown away! I just purchased a new charge 3 and I went to set up my Fitbit pay. Not ONE bank that I have. These are not tiny banks either. Discover, Santander, Harbor One, USAA! Nothing! I'm so upset right not the Fitbit pay is a huge scam and I'm seriously considering if this new monitor is worth it. One of the features I was most looking forward to was the tap to pay. I used to have Samsung pay and it worked with ALL of my accounts. I never had any issues. This is deceptive and downright terrible customer service. I feel like it is a huge bait and switch to not have major banks enrolled. There needs to be a way to apply to have your bank or to use Samsung pay. Otherwise this product is a huge rip off. I've been a loyal customer with a charge hr, charge 2, and charge 3, as well as the aria scale, but this is seriously making me consider just moving on to a better product. Do not advertise a service that only 10% of users may be able to use.

I would like Barclays US included in the list of banks.

Or, if you are acting as the payment processor, do your NFC thing on the front end communicating with FitBit servers, and process the major credit card types on the backend as stored cards within user accounts.  Yes, it places tremendous security requirements on your setup, and would require a connection (Ionic or bluetooth) for the transaction, but greatly increases marketshare for the payment service and will make the enhanced versions much more palatable to consumers who may feel bamboozled by the short list of potential banks that participate.

Before a bank card may be added to Fitbit Pay,  Fitbit needs to individually st up a connection with the individual bank.

Fot those postings above,  please search this bored with the name of your bank,  the is a good chance that it has already been suggested.

I also suggest contacting your bank about Fitbit pay,  this then lets both parties realize that users want this option.

Hi @buzzzzjay thank you so much for submitting this feature suggestion. As a result, we have updated our customer support information for when customers reach out to ask about their bank's compatibility. They will now receive the following information:

--

Fitbit Pay is enabled for the top banks in the US and 200+ banks internationally in 27+ countries. We’re always expanding our bank partnerships that support Fitbit Pay. View our complete list of supported banks at www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay/banks.

If you don’t see your bank on the list, you can contact your bank in a private communication or on social media and tell them that you want to use Fitbit Pay to make contactless payments from your Fitbit device. Ask your bank to see www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay. Note: It’s up to your bank to decide if they want to support Fitbit Pay.

We're always improving the Fitbit Pay experience, and we’re interested in hearing more about the banks you want to see on the list of supported banks. Please consider adding your bank to the Fitbit Pay feature suggestion board. If another member of the community suggested your bank, you can vote for that idea and add your comments.

--

We are hoping to add some of the above information to the Fitbit Pay website as well. @buzzzzjay, as thanks for your suggestion that was released, you will now receive a higher voting weight worth 5 votes. Thank you for sharing your ideas and enthusiasm with the community.
