Fitbit Water Bottle

I just really wanted to recommend Fitbit to make their own water bottle that tracks the amount of water a person is drinking and automatically syncs with the Fitbit app. The thermos smart lid is not a good product and the reviews online show it clearly. Hydration is a part of daily health and Fitbit would benefit all of its users in a real way by creating such a product.

I've also read reviews saying that they stopped working after a short time
or that they aren't accurate. Would still prefer a fitbit branded one.

Yup, I would too Misarie, surprised Fitbit aren't more interested! There is definitely a demand!

It was a struggle getting the Ozmo to sync with the Fitbit, and they seemed to want you to use their own app, whereas I preferred everything on my Fitbit dashboard. Then it stopped syncing, then stopped recording at all, even on it's own app. Support was friendly but ultimately ineffective and I have been told to return to my vendor, not great altogether!

Unfortunately the Hidrate is not available in the UK, so back to my options are limited, guess I could get a replacement Ozmo and start all over again. Shame as I'm sure logging water helps you drink more! My old HydraCoach was pretty good, but required a manual update to the dashboard and the mouthpiece got very unhygienic with a crazy price to ship a replacement to the UK...

I think you need to create a water bottle that syncs better with the fitbit app and can actually estimate when you drink, how often,  make it in different bottle sizes,  or even create a base that attaches in different sizes based on the water bottle sizes listed on the app. Also make it stainless steel too if possible as that lasts longer.

The base can go by weight of the water.  So it can estimate how much of 12-32 oz you drank and it can have a water feature that slowly raises as each sip is taken and once it fills to the top, volia, you drank say 24 oz. The other smart water bottles have issues not tallying it right. Make the base screwable to go from one bottle to another too and easy to remove when you wash the bottle 😉. Good luck!

It would be extremely helpful if fitbit would make a smart water bottle that automatically syncs with the app and logs your water intake automatically. There are currently smart water bottles out there, but sometimes I am unsure if they will be able to link with my fitbit. It would be a lot easier to ensure it will work if fitbit made one. Another feature that would also be helpful is if there was a reminder when you're not drinking enough water.

100% agreed. Fitbit bottle required.

You should make a smart waterbottle that tracks how much you drink

There's already one out there that syncs with fitbit : https://www.thermos.com/smartlid

Hi @Lisi0413! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing.  I've moved it into a similar suggestion. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

I love the Thermos Smart Lid Connected Bottle, The app for it is filled with bugs and errors. It would be cool if the bottle synced directly to Fitbit and it collected data as you drink and knows when you start and stop.

@Dr_T1DM Thermos has control over this aspect, currently Thermos uses Fitbit's API to drop you water consumption into your account.

For the bottle to sync directly Thermos would need to give their blessing and the needed documentation to allow Fitbit to right the interface.

Yes! Please create FitBit specific water bottle.

Need more encouragement to drink more water (I don’t drink much but water and coffee anyway)

Have not seen good reviews for other bottles 🙁

I have a Hydrate bottle that not only measures the amount you drink, but also flashes to remind you to drink so you can stay on track of your water goals.

Does this bottle monitor the current hydration level of the user? It is possible to drink too much water.

I don’t think it measures the current hydration level, but based on size and activity level it tells you how much you should drink.

Not good enough for me, it is safer for the body to be slightly dehydrated then it is to be slightly overhydrated . Still the best way to tell when the body needs liquid is by the urine test.

Let's be realistic here... Yes its a great idea, and it would be great on the Blaze - I would certainly use it daily. However I fear FitBit have no intention and simply would NEVER modify the Blaze software to add a new feature.

In not sure if I understand, hour would Fitbit as a water bottle to the Blaze?

The Hidrate 2.0 bottle will track water with the Fitbit app.

did not receive notifications via my Fitbit, but did via my phone and the bottle.

hope this helps

Actually @PheonixBunny78  your Hydrate App tracks the water that the Hydrate Bottle had mentioned. Then your Hydrate account sends this data to your Fitbit account.  Your Fitbit app has nothing to do with the recording of the water by hydrate.

Several other bottles will also send their data to a Fitbit account.

Thanks so much to @PheonixBunny78 for the awesome recommend. After Fitbit refused to make a bottle, despite a lot of us asking for it! I've struggled to find something that was nice to use and integrated seamlessly with Fitbit. It definitely wasn't the Ozmo, which was hugely disappointing, I struggled with for some months with this before being left high and dry without a working bottle. But initial thoughts on the Hidrate Spark are super positive, it was easy to set up and link to Fitbit, and so far I think it's just great, really pleased Smiley Happy

And you find out why Fitbit left the water bottle up to third parties. As they replied earlier since third parties have this covered, there is no reason for Fitbit to reinvent the bottle.

I would definitely buy a Fitbit water bottle with the following features: Rechargeable battery, not coin cells, vibrate and/or light up reminders on the bottle its self, insulated to keep drinks cool, temperature of the drink, and obviously automatically sync to the fitbit app and watch, automatically recognise quantity of water in the bottle and reset on a refill, possibly with reminders on the watch too, but you could have different options for reminders for different users preferences. I suppose there could be a basic Bluetooth version for tracking and an advanced one with the features mentioned. I emailed Fitbit and they told me to add it here! So lets do it Fitbit, take my cash lol.

I have a Fitbit Versa 2 (currently waiting on the new Sence), I have the Fitbit Aira scales. All I need to complete my health journey is a Fitbit smart food scales and a Fitbit Smart Waterbottle. I have a Hidrate Spark smart bottle and love it. Maybe Fitbit can buy the company and complete the Fitbit system.
