Friends VS Feed Customizable Navigation

It appears many of us have zero or little interest in the new Community Feed, but a lot of interest in our Friends progress. As a result many find the need to now have to perform multiple taps every time the app is reopened to get to our Friends extremely annoying. Either please change the default to show Friends first (as it was previously) upon launching the app or provide the user with a setting option to allow us to choose which opens first.

I too have absolutely no interest in the community feed and would like the option to hide/delete it....or at the very least move it to the third option.

That’s the problem I’m having except I’m going to suggest they create a group with only a feed of my friends posts.

If that’s too hard then... I only receive notifications if a friend “just posted and haven’t posted in a while”. Show in notifications every time my friends post.

Right now I’m checking each friend one by one to see their most recent posts to Community forums. It takes forever.

I suggest you create a feed of only my friends posts.
Another solution, I only receive notifications if a friend “just posted and haven’t posted in a while”. Show in notifications every time my friends post. Not just if they haven’t posted in a while. Notification every time.

I’d like the community page to default to my friends. I’d like to be able to dete old messages. I dont need a daily reminder that I am 1k steps from my goal. I’d like  my stairs to be visible on my community page too.

Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. We look forward to hearing what other community members think.

Agreed. The community feed is useless. I would rather it default to the friends tab. That or give the option to remove it.

How is this awful feed problem still no fixed after all this time?

Its disappinting and discouraging.

Had a similar thread...

Moderator marked it as an existing feature after simply telling me to report/hide the posts I don’t want to see.  Not upset that the enhancement (or revision really) was never put in place.  But disgusted that it was marked as an existing feature and pretty much dismissed.  Consumers ARE business and I put my money where my mouth is.

Fitbit moderators:  Don’t like the post or the pic??  You can just delete...it’s what your users have to do.00F7C106-30B8-4AB7-9CC8-F3F1CBC1FD8B.png

I reached out to FitBit via Twitter and their only response is it's already reviewed by a Moderator, so they're not going to do anything. And the Moderator's response is obviously a passive one with "thanks... look forward to hearing what others think".

@LanuzaFitbit - PLEASE tell us when and how this will issue that has caused YOUR CUSTOMERS consternation will be addressed beyond you passively saying you're reading our comments. This is not just a handful of your customers. We matter. Please let us know what you're doing. We want this changed.

Please allow users to select default views (friend steps vs accomplishment feed). Very annoying to have to click an extra button every single time. Also, the top of my feed is a friend’s accomplishment from 221 days ago, so users I know aren’t even motivated to post.

Why is this still Feed still a problem after a year? Fitbit is not listening to consumers.

If they must have this useless feature - please at least allow people to move it back so you never have to see it if you don’t want to. Someone else’s old self congratulatory post about themself shouldn’t be the first thing I am forced to see every time I open my Fitbit app.

We have all been complaining about this for over a year but users are just ignored

I dislike the community tab too.  But seriously, this feed has gone on a year and nothing is being done.  Is there something else we can do other than purchase another fitness product?   It'd be great if that community stuff were an option or at least be able to click on some dots and delete it.

I totally agree!  The feed is SO annoying!!

Is there still no fix or workaround for this yet?

I wonder how many of us would return our fitbits if offered a refund because of this now.

I 100% would!

I have broken away from the the FitBit addiction.  They did not respond with any kind of respectful input (one way or another) and the passive disrespect is deafening.  Done. Gone. Bye Bye FitBit.  Good luck with your competition and your declining valuation.

The worst part of this is that the discussion has been going on for so long with so many people asking for ability to delete the Community Feed or be able to modify it. Will Fitbit ever do something with this suggestion? Is this one reason people are moving on to other, more flexible devices? FWIW, I agree with getting rid of the Feed. I have one item on there from a challenge six months ago set up by the person who knew she would win it. I have to see that Every. Single. Time. I want to look at my friends list. If Fitbit wants to keep Community Feed, please allow users to delete old stuff.

Just this year, I've deleted Facebook and Twitter from my life. It seems that Fitbit has decided it would like to go the same way.

I'll give it a month. If I've got used to the idea that "Community" shows up before my friends, I guess I'll stick around. If I haven't, well, Garmin (or someone like them) here I come.

Note to Fitbit - by all means put new options like Community into your app but, for the love of God, give us the option to reject them if we don't want them. How can that be so difficult?

This is one of those inexplicable questions like – Why do whales beach themselves when they know it will lead to their death? Fitbit seems intent on a similar fate!

I've been a Weight Watchers member for a while.  I definitely like your tracking better, but like a feature in their community better.  They have three options to view posts in their community.  One is "trending" (which you all have) and another is "new" (which you all have).  The third option is called "following" and that just lists posts by people you're following.  It's a quick and easy way to see what my friends are up to.  It really allows for relationships to be formed because of how easy it is to find posts from JUST your friends at any moment.  Yes, you all have a screen that lists all my friends, but I then would have to click on each friend to see just their posts.  I'd rather go to that friends page and see a chronological listing of posts from my friends.  ((fingers crossed)) you all see this and decide it's something to implement.  Thank you!

Agree. Want friends to come up first. I can go to feed if I want. I have now seen the same feed for 158 days --nice person but not what I want to see every morning --before I have had my tea!

Agree!! Hate the same message over a year now

I just want to chime in as someone who has 100% interest in BOTH types of feeds. The community one as is, then a copy of the feed but filtered to just friends. I feel like there could be a toggle or tab at the top as I would be someone who would regularly use BOTH.

I completely agree.  Please change this feature.  I originally liked the “feed” idea but I am tired of seeing girls sticking out their butts for attention or otherwise posting compromising pictures that I find annoying and/or inappropriate for what Fitbit is supposed to be about.  Frankly I just want to see my friends and NOT the feed at all!!!
