GPS Pilot/GoTo mode

Please add GPS PILOT/GOTO MODE

I know this device is targeted for fitness enthusiast, but having a GPS in your hand and not be able to use it for reaching a given GPS position is very frustrating. GPS PILOT MODE means you can chose a target gps position using the web portal (map) or the phone, then show a "semplified" HSI display indicating heading, altitude, speed, course deviation, ETA, into a single squared page display.

(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizontal_situation_indicator) ,,, this would turn the FitBit to a tremendous killer device for aviation and location finder enthusiasts! You have a GPS, you have a target point, you have everything to make an HSI display working. It says you when you will arrive at destination and in wich direction you should move into.

I should be able to program in a route on the web. Then I expect a pointer on my FitBit Surge to point me where to go. For example, if I have to make a right turn, it should point to the right. If I veer off course, the device should vibrate and point me back to the route.

Since Surge has a bigger screen, I wonder if it is possible to have  a navigation feature to upload directions. Surge should show the next direction change and distance and list of directions and a small condensed map if possible. Surge can also use the silent alarm function to alert for next direction change.

Not sure if this has been requested already. Could not tell from my searches.

Thanks

I totally agree! I was just looking for this. I hope that they update the software soon. I cycle a lot and it would be very helpful to see my next turn as it comes up. I don't know about the condensed map but I think that it should defintely be doable to have an arrow and a short phrase pop up on the watch with a silent alarm. I usually used the audio on my phone but sometimes I miss it or the pronounciation looks nothing like the street name. It makes a HUGE difference to have directions while I am biking.

I do really like this idea @MaRaNtZ! I'm used to walk a lot and sometimes I get lost trying to get back home. But having this feature would allow me to walk even more. I encourage you to keep participating in the Fitbit Forums.

Catch you later!
