Gentle Setting for Vibration on Charge 3

It's a convenient feature having the Charge 3 vibrate when there's a notification.  However, could there be a Gentle setting for the Vibrations?  I have mine set to Normal and it feels like an electrical shock everytime I get a notification. Or turn off option.

Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing @wekebu. We look forward to hearing what other community members think. Robot Happy

I agree, this feature would be very useful.

It is especially troublesome during meetings, as other people sitting nearby can hear the vibration too.

I just received my charge 3 after having a Charge, Alta, and Alta HR and this is the first time the vibration alarm has SCARED me, and I wake up in a panic, flew up and basically threw my cat across the room. It's was too strong.

I checked, my vibration strength is set to "normal". Well, it's definitely stronger than it used to be. I saw lots of complaints from Charge 2 users that it wasn't strong enough, so I assume that's why it was upped. Thing is, some of us who are light sleepers were fine. So I get adding options for stronger, but "normal" shouldn't already be stronger. So my request is for a "light" option, because waking up in fear is unpleasant. I want the old vibration strength back. 😕

Hi @Anex, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. As the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

I agree that this feature is needed. I have vibrations for my charge 3 set on Normal, and it's way too buzzy for me.

Additionally, at my workplace we're not supposed to have smart devices activated, but the vibration on this is loud enough that my coworkers can all hear it.

I understand that the vibrations for the alarm are more useful when they're intense, but I do not understand why there is not a low option for other times of day.

I need a low vibrate or silent-but-still-light-up option.

Is there a silent, or low vibrate feature?

Side note, I loved the relax feature on the Charge 2. It was subtle, gentle, and soothing (like it should be). However, on the Charge 3, the relax feature vibrations are too intense. It is not conducive to relaxation when your arm does 3 intense buzzes for every single exhale."

I find current options Normal/Strong too loud for (yes, too loud) for Alarm Clock and even when Normal is used, most of the mornings my spouse and myself are woken up by sound of vibration.

Normal/Strong are perfectly acceptable for notifications during the day, so maybe Alarm Clocks could have a separate Vibration option? (So I could use Gentle for Alarms and Normal for all other notifications). Ideally, user should be able even to select vibration pattern.

The reason I'd like to request "Gentle" mode is that previously I've used Xiaomi Band 2 and I it never woke up my spouse, so I could get up without disturbing her sleep.

Please consider this change request.

I also would like a gentle vibration option!  The whole idea of having a vibrating notifications at others around you do not get disturbed by it. I had a charge 2 previously and it was non-issue. I received a charge 3 yesterday and I’m getting used to it ...but the notification vibration is so strong that it disturbs the people around me because they can hear it.

I have just upgraded from a charge 2 to a charge 3 and I’m considering whether to keep it because the vibrations are SO LOUD! I’ve tried the normal and strong settings and can’t tell any difference between the two. The whole point of the SILENT alarm is that other people shouldn’t be able to hear it. Whenever I get a notification during the day people around me notice. I use this so I can have my phone on silent, but it makes just as much noise!

I second all of the comments here on Vibrations. The vibrations on charge 3 are way too strong. A gentle setting would be very high on my wish list. Normal is much stronger than my charge 2.

Just bought my first Fitbit and I'm been wearing it all morning. Finally got my notifications set up and noticed that the vibrations, even on normal, are pretty strong. It gets rather distracting when group chat starts blowing up.  I would definitely like a gentler vibration option. I just need an alert that a new message has come in, not something non verbally shouting at me.

This following bit may need to be a new suggestion, but it would be nice to be able to have a variety of vibration types, and the ability to assign those vibrations to different alert types. I.E. a short gentle buzz for an email, a longer stronger buzz for a text, a short repeating buzz for a phone call or alarm going off.

Please make a gentle vibration option! For the Relax all especially, the vibration is much too loud and strong.

Please make it less obnoxious. My watch is sitting across the room and I can hear it vibrate. The Apple Watch has a quick haptic, which is really nice. I hate this vibration. There is hardly any difference between the normal and strong. Make an option for less.

I can hear every time it vibrates!  Can someone tell me exactly WHERE the option is in the settings to change the vibration strength to "NORMAL".  I can't find that thread or clear instructions anywhere.  Thanks!

I agree, the vibration for "normal" is quite strong. The first time my new charge 3 vibrated, I nearly jumped out of my skin, it still . Also, my husband keeps asking me what that noise is when he is across the room. It should be a gentle buzz, something only the wearer notices, not something that the rest of the room can hear.

Please add a "gentle" vibration setting.

I agree with having a lower vibration setting.

For notifications the. Use feels fine for me. However I use the silent alarm, as my wife has a very night sleep, so I don’t wake her up 2h before she needs to get out of bed. I had a very cheap version of a fit bit before and the gentle vibration was perfect. Enough to wake me and  it to strong to shook me out of sleep. Now I love the charge 3 much more than my previous device, but the buzzing alarm can be even felt by my wife.

please get a gentle buzz setting. It shouldn’t be to hard to get it adjust with an software update, specially whe. It knows already 2 settings.

thanks a lot

I completely agree that the Charge 3 needs a gentle vibrate option. I recently exchanged my Versa for a Charge 3 (the Versa felt too bulky) and might have to look into a Garmin, or something similar, based on the insanely loud vibrations.

Right now the Charge 3 has regular and strong vibration settings, but both of these are too strong for some people. The notifications and silent alarms are not actually silent because the vibration buzzes so loudly. It is jarring to wake up to and surprises me out of sleep, which isn't good for the body. Some people need the strong vibration to wake up, but can we also have gentler options?

Suggesting the option to change settings on Fitbit Charge 3 allowing users to adjust the strength of vibrations to LOW for incoming notifications and calls. This is due to the "normal" and "strong" vibration settings are way too loud and strong. Please add an option for "low" vibration. Additionally, there is no obvious difference between "normal" and "strong" settings. Please adjust.

Current vibrate intensity setting of normal and strong are exactly the same, and are SUPER STRONG.  Please fix this ASAP.  Start with what you have, and make 2 more settings DOWN.  PLEASE ASAP!!!  very annoying and WAY TOO STRONG!!

This has been requested since the release of the Charge 3. Please allow your customers better control of the vibration intensity. Two settings "Normal" and "Strong" was reasonably acceptable for the release of the tracker, but people started requesting a lower vibration setting just days after release. Here we are nearly a year into the release, with numerous people complaining that the vibration is too much.

Your customers clearly want this. This is not a difficult feature to add into your next firmware update.

Do it.

Hi @Scott_R, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the possibility of having more vibration levels with Charge 3, particularly a softer vibration, since normal and strong already exist.

This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned. However, this idea is still open to votes, so the team can continue to track popularity and demand over time.

Currently options for vibration are strong and normal and I would like the option for lower then normal. Especially for alarms, something that vibrates lightly.
