Yes please, adobe flash can't be used anymore though certain parts of the website require adobe flash to be installed to be able to see the contents like the food stats on the food log page (website). 🤗
You've got to be kidding me... Adobe ended Flash for ALL platforms last January - here it is almost April, and despite knowing that this was going to be an issue as early as 2014 (7 YEARS AGO), there are still features on your web site that are completely unusable because they still require Flash?!?! That's no way to treat your customers that (if I have to remind you) pay a premium to own your product. Highly disappointing. And the fact that this thread stated *BACK IN 2018* that the issue was designated "Under Consideration" and was being addressed is downright insulting. I'm rethinking my 5 year brand loyalty to FitBit.

... 3 year brand loyalty - I apologize for the typo.
Please make the Food Stats for Calorie Intake on the Dashboard work without Flash. Adobe Flash is outdated and no longer supported by Adobe and is not available at all on many computers now. This has been known for years, and it's time for Fitbit to get up to speed on this.
Hi @JennyRed, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to remove Adobe Flash from the Fitbit website. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
My gawd! Doesn’t anyone notice how long ago I posted my original post? Not meaning to pick on this particular poster, but replying here is just convenient on my iPhone.
While I’m glad to hear that Fitbit has finally decided to maybe look at this issue, I have moved on to using an Apple Watch for several years now.
Bye, bye Fitbit.
Could the moderator please close comments on my original post.
Yes, I know that. That's exactly why I'm asking for this feature to stop being dependent on Flash. That's outdated software and FitBit should not have a feature that requires it.
The fact that a company as big as FitBit is still "using" plugins that have reached End of Life for a website that people use to track vital information about their wellness is completely unacceptable. This has been a problem for too long and they have not come up with a solution for their users in a reasonable amount of time, reflects poorly on the company, their management and website staff. I just bought a Sense, but had I known in advance that the graphs were still "using" Flash, I probably would not have bought it.
Indeed; I stopped using all Fitbit products 4 years ago, initially over this issue (which tells you how little Fitbit cares about its customers, if they have been ignoring this issue for that long), and that decision was confirmed when Google bought Fitbit.
Hi @PurpleSweetTart, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to stop using Flash on Fitbit.com Dashboard. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.
@ajc3 and @SunsetRunner thank you for sharing your feedback. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.
@YojanaFitbit - Is there another suggestion we should be upvoting to get this fixed?
I am astonished how many years of complaining with no fix to a front page issue. But looking back this complaint was moved to "Under Consideration" in 2018.
Fitbit is STILL using Flash on the desktop dashboard so we are unable to access some features. When is this going to be addressed?
"Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems. "
Flash is no longer supported as of 12/31/2021 Please replace flash code with some alternative tech. This shows it was "under Consideration" in 2014 - I think it may be time to get these changes underway.
It's been over a year since Flash was retired on 12/31/2020. And as of 01/12/2021, content was actively being blocked by Adobe themselves.
I guess "Under Consideration" isn't actually something that's being considered by Fitbit. We can pay for the device and Premium accounts, but we can't expect full functionality.
I find it DEEPLY concerning that Fitbit has ignored the problem for this long.
Flash is no longer supported by Adobe and it's a huge security hole. No one should have this installed at all anymore, period, and that has been the case for years. I just started with fitbit over the holidays and was stunned to see the food log page telling me to get Flash to view a graph. If you click the link provided it literally takes you to Adobe's page telling you Flash isn't a thing anymore.
I gave up on this a long time ago and have been curious to see how long Fitbit keeps getting away with not fixing their software. I’m astonished that this is still going on after so many years. It’s actually quite entertaining to watch one of the biggest vendors in its field use outdated and completely unsupported technology and only keep considering it and phasing it off for years. The complete disregard for paying customers (the charts were a big part of premium back then) and software security as evidenced here is also the primary reason why I stopped paying for premium and won’t ever be returning to any recurring payment plan. How am I to trust there aren’t similar or even more serious vulnerabilities in the backend?
That being said we are still using fitbit products, but once the current ones break down, switching brands will be under consideration (pun intended).
Perhaps it is important to remember that Fitbit is now owned by Google (Alphabet), an advertising company. Why did they acquire Fitbit? Because that want to use the Fitbit customer base for its targeted marketing. So it is not surprising they are unconcerned about the privacy and security of it users. Fitbit users, after all, are the product they are selling.
@ajc3 you should read the agreement with this relationship and ownership. At least for now Google only has access to the meta data. No individual user data.
I have also given up on Fitbit but am checking to see if any of the bugs or problems I've pointed out get fixed before the device dies.
The fact that Flash is still in use is a clear indicator that Fitbit are not interested in customer feedback or security but has nothing to do with Google. If anything it is more likely to mean that Google are not having that much influence on Fitbit's day to day policies. Security is something that Google seem to take seriously. Although security is even more important when a company holds customer information, collection and use of personal data has nothing to do with security itself and certainly nothing to do with the reasons for needing to remove Flash from the website.
