Group Text Message Notifications

Hello all.

Currently using a Versa and an Android Phone.

Issue: When I get a group text message from my friends, I don't know the specific person that sent the message.

Suggestion: Have the specific person's name in front of a group text message followed by a colon or provide the person's name when you tap on the specific message and have it appear where the timestamp appear.

Hello @MrVoo! Thanks for sharing your suggestion!

I could definitely see how this can be confusing. Let's see what other users have to say about this idea.

This feature has been added since added in the May 2018 update.

I would expect notifications from GroupMe on my Versa to include the sender's name and not just the group name. On my phone, the notification includes the sender name and group name. On my old Pebble it also included bot the group name and sender name. Not having the sender name means I need to use my phone to read the notification.

I definitely would like this feature. It is frustrating to see the GroupMe message on my Versa and have to check my phone to see who sent it.

I agree with both alexr00 and CatCrazy5. On Tizen OS, it displays both the name of the sender and even pictures. From a technical standpoint, this doesn't appear to be tremendously difficult to implement, although I don't have the source code in front of me. I will admit GroupMe has become significantly more buggy in the past year but this should still be possible. Has there been any progress on this functionality?

Any update on this? I have android and a Fitbit Sense and it absolutely drives me nuts not knowing who sent a message in a group text. My work uses the group text feature on a daily basis, and it makes it hard to understand when I can't actively look at my phone, which is why I use a smart watch instead of a 5 dollar casio watch from Walmart.
