This is exactly what I came here to suggest. I would love to be able to have my flare symptoms logged in the same place as the rest of my health metrics so it can be easier to contrast the data and trends and see if they interact or predict each other somehow. We can already log symptoms stereotypically associated with menstratiom, adding other general illness symptoms would be similar. Would also like to be able to log my bp readings as well

Hi @TaniaRyl, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to track any symptom on the Fitbit app as control of your well-being with us. It seems a similar idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Please click on the thumbs-up to show your support, we'll keep tracking this request over time.

Take a look at apps like flairdown. You can input common symptoms of chronic illness, or just any illness. Then daily you can rate the severity of those symptoms. Track pain, mornign stiffness and medication taken. If this would factor into readiness score i.g. pain is bad, readiness score is lowered.

Please please PLEASE add a feature like this! Fitbit is the first time I've actually been able to consistently track my health, and illness/symptom tracking is the one thing missing from Fitbit actually being able to cover all bases when it comes to monitoring and improving an individual's health and wellness.

Not only would it benefit people with chronic illnesses SO much, but it would benefit absolutely everyone when they are experiencing any kind of illness or injury and help them to recover, to common ongoing aspects of health such as tracking food sensitivities (if you log daily symptoms, log your daily food, then correlations can be easily made)!

A health and symptom logger could be something as simple as the 'How are you feeling today?' feature for stress that the app already has.

It would be amazing to be able to use a similar simple daily questionnaire with custom questions/answers to log the level of your daily wellness/sickness and specific symptoms such as rating your level of pain, nausea, fatigue, etc that day.

And it would be absolutely life-changing if Fitbit invested in developing a comprehensive feature for monitoring and tracking illnesses and symptoms that is integrated into the rest of the app's health data metrics and analytics informed by medical experts, like the rest of the features. This would be TRANSFORMATIVE for illness and symptom management and to people's LIVES, allowing users to maintain a healthy lifestyle even if their health isn't perfect.

This could build on the 'Readiness' feature, for example, which is already a helpful way to check in with the state of your health to know how much you can exert yourself that day without impacting your health - the most important information for the lifestyle of someone managing chronic illness.

Fitbit's features which monitor the general daily state of your health through medical health metrics (eg. RHR, HRV) would be improved ten-fold if people with certain conditions were able to inform the app about these conditions for more accurate individualised results and service from the app.

It surely would not take a lot of effort on Fitbit's part to develop this gaping hole in the app's health metrics / features to allow all users to use its personally-tailored health, wellness, and lifestyle advice and information to work toward and maintain a healthier lifestyle - the entire purpose of the platform.

And considering monitoring your symptoms and trying to improve your lifestyle is the one of the only things that people with chronic illness can effectively do to improve their health - and is extremely difficult to do when you suffer from symptoms like chronic fatigue - Fitbit would have a huge community of customers flocking to the app for this purpose. I was recommended a Fitbit by my cardiologist in the first place to monitor my heart rate for orthostatic intolerance, and word of mouth is exceptionally strong in the chronically ill community.

Not to mention Long COVID sufferers bringing public attention to chronic illness, expanding this customer base that is in need of a platform for health/illness/symptom/lifestyle management. I am sure someone else will soon swoop in to offer a more comprehensive health monitoring platform if Fitbit does not expand its own in the direction of features that it has already demonstrated it is perfectly capable of!

TLDR: Please, please, PLEASE consider illness and symptom tracking!!! It's a no-brainer for a health app!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Please add this! It could be extremely helpful -- I just learned of a friend who really was struggling with her health and wondered if it was a chronic condition. We just found out it is lymphoma -- I think having a symptom tracking resource on the app (for free) could really help folks. It would be a huge asset to customers so that they don't have to move around from Flaredown to Fitbit...

Symptom Tracking would be a game changer for so many of us!  Having problems like fatigue can make it very difficult to use so many various app. One of things I LOVE about FitBit is the ability for data to flow between My Fitness Pal & FitBit, so I can record my meals & exercise only in one place instead of having to do it twice. t would be THE MOST incredible thing if, in partnership with My Fitness Pal, had the ability to pool the nutritional data with the exercise data and health metrics from premium and adding some simple, personalizable symptoms to track easily & then chart and graph to find potential triggers for migraines, fatigue, POTS, depression, anxiety, you name it... to see how cancer recover is going.  If you could add medications with doses or supplements, people could really take control of their health and see what medicines at what doses are truly beneficial or not.  I really hope this will be a direction FitBit takes.  Too many people are sick, and this would be an invaluable resource.  It might cost, it might be added to Premium.  It MIGHT in this case be something that insurance would cover for people to help manage illness...

Please please please add a symptom tracker.

I've always been pretty healthy, then during the pandemic, didn't get even a timy bit sick for over 2 years. It was glorious. But for the past 4 months, I have barely been healthy. We can't figure out if I got long covid without ever knowing I had covid, or what. But it's grueling and awful and I havr never felt less like myself.

I came here hoping to find that Fitbit supplied a symptom tracker and I had just never needed it 🙂 I hoped to easily track my symptoms compared to my physical activity, but alas. I need to understand how what is going on for me aligns with what Fitbit tracks already. Please please add this. Thank you so much.

Glad to find others requesting what I came here to request. I have pain flares in various places and want to track the severity and location of the pain each day along with food, water, exercise, etc. This info is useful when I talk to the doctor so we can figure out any patterns. So the ability to export it is also useful. I would also like to have my pain rating be taken into account for my readiness score. There have been days that my readiness score is 95, but I'm having level 6 pain in my low back (Moderately strong pain that interferes with normal daily activities. Difficulty concentrating) so I need to select a workout that will help me move and get out of pain.

To go with this, can your app recommend exercises that go with how I report I am feeling that day?

I've tried the exercises and they are unexpectedly difficult in places because I should not jump or run. Thanks for considering.

A symptom tracking feature would be amazing and utterly helpful. I have multiple chronic illnesses and feel this is the one thing that is really missing from my new Fitbit.

I couldn't agree more with this post https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Health-condition-symptoms-logging-section-on-Fit...

The way my (several) chronic conditions are managed and my symptoms that day *should* impact my readiness score! Also, if we could track symptoms and we could cross-reference with sleep score, activity, heart rate trends, etcetera, that would make FitBit much more useful to the general population - it has a reputation of being for health nuts in my country at least, but it has the potential to be attractive to a huge range if people. Just search hashtags like "spoonie" and "ChronicIllness" and "EDS" on the socials to see what a huge community is waiting to be served! It would be ideal if symptom tracking could be added to the Wellness report, too, to aid communication with doctors.

Agree - being able to track food AND digestive symptom severity would be SO helpful. I know that there are specialist apps for this but if I'm already tracking my food for calories then it makes so much more sense to be able to do it here.

Definitely want to vote for this one. It’s essential for me to have a way to track my flares as well. Especially now, with so many people getting Long Covid and other inflammatory disorders, it would be a good time to develop this feature in the app.

This. Tracking injuries and conditions, either as short term or part of an ongoing lifestyle change, as well as healing goals, planning and logging. And having that integrated into the readiness score and other analysis would be helpful as well for people who are easily swayed by such things (cough-me-cough) and can end up pushing themselves too far too fast. Being able to see graphs of logged healing and improvements would go a long way to not pushing yourself too far and making the injuries worse.

This is a great idea! The readiness score can provide misleading information if it can't be tracked with health conditions. No need for Fitbit to analyze, just for individuals to put activities for certain days into a health context.

This would go a long way in better understanding my overall health. For example, if I'm sick I shouldn't have the same daily goals and should instead prioritize resting, not walking. Plus seeing how often I actually am sick every year would be very helpful.

I have Fibromyalgia and I would love to be able to track my symptoms on a daily basis. Fibromyalgia has a wide-range of symptoms. Most people think fibromyalgia is just pain all throughout the body..it's so much more. Not everyone has the same symptoms or all of the symptoms.

We need to bring this topic back up with people. Now that a bunch of people are on weight loss meds as well it would be great to track that as well as sick ess symptoms and migraines all in 1 app.
