Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

i would love to see it be able to induce a viabration coordinated breathing exercize by recognizing the flight or flight and movement patterns.

Unfortunately it will not make sense, until it become much stronger the vibration.

I bought the Fitbit Blaze believing that it had a max heart rate tracker. I bought it because my doctor won't allow me to work out without a heartbeat tracker because I was unfortunately born with a bad heart. I thought it would alert me when my heart rate was getting too high mostly why I spent so much for it. Is it possible to add this feature? I would greatly appreciate it.

The Charge 2 needs this feature as well!

HR zone notification should be a standard notification on a device called Fitbit Charge 2 HR. It's impossible to keep tapping or button pressing fitbit device to validate you are in your desired HR zone while exercising.  Please make an effort to write supporting code.

Yes! Me too. Having a fitness device with heart rate monitoring - it's a little ridiculous not to be able to get a vibration when my HR falls below my zone minimum - and to have to constantly check my watch.  HR devices have traditionally had this feature for many years.

Ei what happened to this suggestion? Is fitbit even considering this? This is a really helpful feature. You cannot constantly check the device while running in order to monitor heartrate. It defeats the purpose of having it in the first place.

Count me in on this request as well. Even simple HRM like my polar and my Omron, which I've had forever, do this. What I would like is to be able to set an arbitrary number as a high limit and get a vibrating and flashing alarm.  It would be nice to have the option to have this high number be equal to the max heart rate set in the settings, or alternatively set an arbitrary number. I have a chronic medical condition and it is essential  that I keep my heart rate below 60 or 65% 24/7. The chest straps give me a rash and so since I need a continuous read out, this type of device is my only option. Please add this 🙂 Please? It's really important to me and to other people with my condition who are in my support group.

I can't spend my entire run staring at my wrist to ensure that I am under my max heart rate... some sort of silent alarm that keeps you in that target zone would be great... however... I can see that this idea has been suggested already, voted on by nearly 2000 people, and in the hopper for almost 2 years.

Which tells me that Fitbit has no intention whatsoever to actually implement this.

Which means I may have to move on to something that will, and tell others to purchase something else too. I love my Fitbit - but this extremely simple solution is long overdue - and clearly not being considered by the developers.

I also would like vibrating alerts for high & low heartrate zones.  My ancient Polar could do this until it died.  I am very disappointed that the Blaze can't do this with today's technology.  It is impossible to activate & look at the display during many Yoga poses especially inversions.

Unfortunately the Fitbit developers continue to demonstrated a level of
arrogance that defies belive. Despite this feature being the most requested
update over the last two years they still refuse to implement it or even
respond to customers comments. Like many others I too will be taking my
custom elsewhere

@AngelaMa

They may not be intended...but if you think about it...such a feature would probably open up a whole new customer base (once the word spreads) Someone may argue that measuring a Heartrate is also not intended to provide medical/scientific data, right?

I am currently using my Fitbit Charge HR to keep an eye on my heart rate because I have a Pulmonary embolism which is putting strain on my heart. If my HR exceeds 110 I need to stop what I am doing and rest.

I would like to see the ability to have an alarm threshold on the device whereby if my pulse exceeds 110bpm I would be made aware by the device alarm.

The exercise zones don't really help me and I would like to be able to turn them off when the custom zone information is entered.

The trace of RHR has been really revealing about the effectiveness of my treatment and rate of recovery but what would also be nice is an alternative display mode which showed heart rate only as when I was in hospital but not attached to any hospital monitoring, it was useful to use my phone as a personal HR monitor.

this screen shows the trace of RHR during my time in Hospital following my PE. You can see the steady worsening following the PE, and the slower recovery following the commencement of treatment a week or so later (like many men I thought I could cope, and that the problem would fix itself) followed by a more steady recovery once the right treatment was established.

The PE occurringThe PE occurringthis is the pulse trace from the day where I suffered my PE. It is clear from the sudden large increase in heart rate that something major happened.

Hi, what would be great, similar to the reminder to move, an alert if your heart rate is dropping below a predefined target on the Blaze.

E.g. during a workout, I would like heart rate above 130, if it starts to drop below, the Blaze to alert me to this.

I specifically purchased a fitbit after I found out that I had heart issues so I could continue to run & exercise in the thoughts that there would be an alarm to set at max heartrate.  Please add this feature as a vibration alarm or spoken alarm!! Would make life much easier and less stressful having to constantly tap to monitor.

Seriously, my disappointment with fitbit begins to exceed limits. Not just because this feature isn't available, but because it is broadly demanded and the fitbit team doesn't even bother to answer and say something like: we're working on it! It'll appear in future updates!... No, nothing. They just don't care.

Well, I am so going to recommend all of my friends to buy another brand! Other support teams and brands at least care for their customer demands

Hi. Would it be possible to add an alarm for when one reaches their individual heart rate level that is more than the 80% calculated rate? In the app fitbit already has all the stats to calculate the 80% threshold like height, weight and fitness. This would help either prevent dangerous exertion or be an indicator for seeking medical help

Too bad Fitbit couldn't offer an upgrade that adds this feature. Even charge a few bucks for it. If it can set other alarms on your Fitbit, it shouldn't be a huge leap to add an HR alarm.

Fitbit just released a patch a few days ago and it included somethings ng for the heart rate monitoring. I haven't tested it yet but I hope it'll send out different vibration patterns when you've reached max or when you go below the range. Timex has this feature but instead of vibrating it'll send out beeping sounds, different for when you're over or under the heartrate you set. It will be pretty useless if the update still requires you to check/look at the tracker manually while running. If this is the case then the developers don't use the product, or don't understand the product, or don't really know what features are useful.

when you open the app from your phone there will be a button to start the
update, at least that's how I got mine... My fitbit version now is 22.48.14

I opened the app this morning and it was at 34.5.14 - in other news - still no notifications for exceeded heart rate zones.

It would be very nice if my blaze had target heart rate alerts. maximum and minimum. It's dangerous to look at my watch while riding my bike. Help!
