Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

Yes please to adding a non visual method to relize heart rate zone changes. Also, allow transmission to the app and let the app notify, say during a FitStar workout.

The feature to maintain cardio zone will be extremely helpful. It would also be very helpful to be able to manage all heart rate zones, like setting an alert to notify if my heart rate enters maximum rate.

It would be nice to have an option to alert you if your heart rate drops to a different zone.

E.g. If I'm doing cardio and am trying to stay in the cardio heart rate zone im constantly checking my fit bit to see what zone I'm in.   It would be awesome if it would just give me a buzz if I fall from cardio to fat burn zone.

I agree totally!  An alrert when my heartrate exceeds a zone would be really beneficial. I need it in Surge! so please figure it out!

+1 for some kind of customizable heart rate vibration notification. Could even be preset ranges maybe.

Absolutely add this feature!  This might be the one feature that will sway me to buy a different monitor instead of upgrading to a different Fitbit!

Dear Fitbit,

Not sure whether this applies to others on this board - out of all the wearable health monitoring devices out there, here's the reasons why I chose a fitbit charge 2 in the first place:

1.  I have health issues where my heart rate has to be constantly monitored, especially during workouts (peak heart rate).  This is important to me as I work out 5 to 6 times a week.  Looks like this applies to a fair few individuals on this board.

2.  The Charge 2 is one of the most accurate health monitoring device, in an all rounded sense.

3.  Rather than wearing an apple watch or the likes, where heart rate alert is available and convenient to use, I chose the charge 2 as I would like to wear my own time piece (vanity!).

All in all, this is an important feature to me, and perhaps a lot of us here.  Some of us are not wearing a charge 2 purely because of fitness - it might just safe our lives!

Please consider releasing a software upgrade that allows this important function, or partnering with an app (i.e. heart watch) that may allow this function.

I would love to see this implemented too! I know the fit bit charge 2 isn't a medical tool, but it helps me to track my elevated heartrate, especially when I'm exercising (i have a hyper thyroid condition). It would be wonderful to know when I'm heading close to a heart rate zone that would no longer be healthy for me to continue for a longer length of time.

Thank you to the fit bit developers for looking into this! 🙂

I have used the Wahoo fitness app for about 2,5 years and the app looks really great! It has the 'heart rate zone change announcement' feature but as an audio announcement. I do my workouts based 50-60% of my max heart rate to optimize fat burning. The Wahoo fitness app has a very nice GUI that helps me focus to stay in that zone during my workout. Too bad Wahoo is not planning to make any wearable otherwise I would have stayed with Wahoo. So I decided to switch to Fitbit and yesterday I purchased the Charge 2. The first thing I figured out was the announcement of changes in heart zones so I'm quite disappointed this feature isn't available. I could also do my homework first in stead buying it, but I was so enthusiastic about the slim design of the Charge 2!

Fitbit, please implement this great feature!

I too would love to have the heart rate zone alarm.  This would keep me from investing in a competitors product because that feature is important to my training.  I have used a Fitbit product for a long time and love the company.  Please add!

Why do you want this (Vibration alerts for heart rate zones) so many people? Ridiculous! This makes no sense, significance, because very weak vibration warning. First of it should be improved.

The necessary development order:

1. Stronger (and/or longer) vibration.

2. Vibration alerts for heart rate zones.

Adjustable length and strength of vibration for notifications on Charge 2

@Laszlo52, have you talked with support about your Fitbit?  I've never had a problem feeling the Fitbit silent alarm or notification vibration

2 years after the issue is raised in the forum and shown up as solved which it isn't because it isn't implemented (in the fitbit charge 2). If I knew this wasn't a feature I wouldn't have bought this expensive gadget. Not only doesn't it beep when I go above my peak heart rate, if I bring the watch to my face it shows -- instead of a number. And I see on the forum now that this is an issue that a lot of people have. So I just spend a fortune on a very expensive watch instead of a heart rate monitor

I would love to have this feature. I need to constantly monitor my heartrate because of my health. Pleas, please implement a vibration when going over the preset heartrate zone.

I need to know when my heart rate reaches a certain range for safety purposes. Can you fix it so it alerts me?

+1. Heart rate is the main reason I bought a fitbit, but I'm finding it hard to utilize the HR info without alerts.

My husband's Dr. recommended a heart rate max when he exercises. A silent alarm would be a fantastic addition to the blaze he has. I would really hate to buy a different brand that offers this option.

This is a very important feature in a Fitness device. I had this on my Timex HRM. Can you implement this ASAP. This feature is long overdue.

Fitbit, are you seeing the value in alerts for heart rate zones. I can't
recommend this device without them. I would return mine if I could.
Please add this feature.

It is practically useless to have a device made and advertised as a continuous pulse monitor that doesn't let you know your current status or upper / lower limit alerts. Furthermore, the average heart rate and the charts themselves could be drastically improved. It would be lovely if charts had the option for greater detail and if, when the unit is set to "auto" on heart rate, it would cut off nearly instantly when it recognizes it is no longer being worn.

My resting heart rate is in the 100's. But my charts always say low 80's. #iwish
