Inconsistent data during activity recording through app

I use fitbit app together with Pixel watch 2. I think there are serious crosstalking issues with the app and the watch. Yesterday, I tried to record a hiking activity on the app and it all looked fine while recording. After I ended the recording, it showed almost completely irrelevant data: Prematurely stopped, overlapping walking activity.
This is needed because:
The app does not work properly. It also deleted almost half of my steps. In the end of the day my watch showed 30K steps and now it shows 17K!!?!
I'd use this: Once in a while
