Increase font size for Inspire family

Just bought a new Inspire HR through my health insurance company.  Haven't used a fitbit in years since my original flex.  Never thought about font size since it didn't exist back then.  Now this one has watch and so many apps.  The problem is without wearing reading glasses, I can't read anything.  Its completely useless and annoying because it is always beeping and vibrating and I have no clue why.  Most people over 45 wear readers to see close up, this doesn't work because they don't wear readers when exercising or walking or they would trip. This might get returned before the week ends.

I too want to see larger fonts! I just replaced my Fitbit Alta and was excited at the prospect that the larger screen would mean larger fonts but instead EVERYTHING (even the clock) is harder to read than on my Alta. I would also like an option (like on my Alta) to see things read horizontally/landscape instead of vertical/portrait so they can be even larger. I love that on the Inspire I can read even more notifications than I could on my Alta but they are so small and the words get broken in odd places because they don't fit in the vertical/portrait space across. All the fonts need to be bigger and bolder please!!!

Same remark : why the big icons, and tiny numbers ?? Should be easy to fix ...

Tip : the heart rate under the clock is a bit bigger using the Valerie clock face

My husband bought me a Fitbit inspire HR for my birthday as I wanted a small Fitbit with the heart rate facility. I had an Alta previously as that is the size Fitbit that I like as it’s not too big and bulky on your wrist. On the Alta you can rotate the text so it’s horizontal which makes the text look like a font size 14, however I’m really disappointed with my new inspire as you can’t rotate the display and the text is like a font size 8 which is too small to read, are the developers at Fitbit looking into adding the function to make the pictures smaller, the text bigger and add the horizontal rotate function, as I’m I prefer my old Alta and wished I hadn’t asked my husband to buy this for me now as I can’t read the small text.

Also the vibrate isn’t as strong as the Alta you can hardly feel it when a text makes it vibrate - is this right it have i got a faulty inspire?

I want the horizontal display to be available on my Inspire. This big, new screen and tiny display numbers that are hard to read vertically.

Yes please conduct a vote on this. Mother in law is on the cusp of returning her Inspire because of font size. Would assume that this product is marketed at the the grey dollar. Firmware update please!

I totally agree you can’t feel the vibrate either when you get texts. Mine is going back!

The font on my the new Inspire HR and on the phone app are too small!!  This has to be improved. I can NOT read my steps or anything else unless I’m wearing my reading glasses and I don’t wear my reading glasses when exercising!  The phone app isn’t large enough either. In our weekly challenge or family challenge screens our names and steps are tiny with a huge empty space in the middle. Can’t this be adjusted??  Please help!  (the tiny fonts on the Inspire HR should have been included in the product description!)

I agree!  The FONT size on the Inspire HR is way too small to be read without my reading glasses!  Unfortunately I just bought 5 of these for family members and we all have the SAME complaint!  Totally ridiculous!  FITBIT needs to RESPOND to this issue and let us know if they have ANY intention of fixing it.

Jumping on the bandwagon- the large icons don’t give me any useful information and I have to stop and find my glasses to see any of the stats that I am interested in. I just got my inspire hr (after my Alta finally died). It is very frustrating not to be able to read the stats on my wrist while I’m moving around.

So how do I get at the menu to change to horizontal?   Can I do it on the app? or with the settings on the fitbit itself?    I can't figure out how to do it.

Just to be clear...  I appreciate the fact that someone did in fact respond to my comment on Instagram regarding the lack of FONT choices for the Inspire HR and the Fitbit App... however....telling me to go VOTE on a topic that I already voted on(a week ago) is NOT really the answer I was looking for.

Just so you know.... CUSTOMER SERVICE RULE # 1 - just answer the customers question...DON'T redirect your customer to an endless circle of commenting, voting, waiting, wondering, etc.

I have ACTUALLY purchased SIX of the Inspire HR's in the last few weeks!  So I'd like to know that someone is doing something to help us out!!!

As you can see I not ONLY voted for this topic but I have added a couple of comments.  Is anyone at FITBIT reading this??

I don't know if it was the last firmware update or not, but when you
manually start an exercise, and you scroll to the heart rate, the number is
now very clear to read, a much bigger font. Would prefer this layout on the
normal 24h tracking as well, but still, progress ! (Unless I just didn't
try this before)

Fitbit, you're not doing your business any favours by saying 'great suggestion, lets see what others think', you'll just drive your customers to your competitors. Better to put some developers on the job to actually do something about it.

I'm new to trackers and got an inspire HR because I want to monitor my HR, but is very hard to see my HR ! This surely should be a bigger focus in the user experience! Yeah reduce the size of the pulsating icon, remove the 'bpm' and increase the HR font size (it's a bit pedantic to include 'bpm' when there is a massive beating icon above it).

Screens need to be configurable or provide more options with practical UX benefit - for example a home clock face option with HR (bigger) as a default is more useful than 8 different time-of-day font styles. If I wanted a something on my wrist primarily to tell me the time or as a fashion item, I'll wear a watch!

Phil214:  I agree with you!!   I PREVIOUSLY had the Flex 2 (that doesn't even have a screen...just a few lights) and my new Inspire HR is just about as useful since I can NOT read the steps on the Inspire HR screen very well.  What good is it if you can't read it?

I'm pretty sure that "Tiny font" that can't be increased or read unless you are wearing your eyeglasses should have been in the description on the NEW Inspire model details.

Because you can’t do it. Inspire doesn’t have this feature. It should, but the real screen is actually too small. Looks big until you realize it’s just a small window surrounded by the black background.

If another vote is necessary,  indeed substance has been sacrificed for bling. If profits us nothing to have a choice of clock faces if we can't read the digits we need to read.

I agree with all the comments here. I got 2 of the Inspire HR, one for myself and one as a gift. I'm worried I now have to return both as my friend I got the Inspire for wears glasses anyway. I don't live in the US so the postage fees is a huge consideration. While I love the extra app notifications and how light it is on my wrist, I'm now considering going back to my Alta HR. Fitbit, please don't wait for more votes to consider making this change. You will definitely loose customers if you dont respond quickly to this. And not as a higher priced version 2 mind you.

Simple software tweak if you please

I have voted and commented multiple times...  When are we actually going to hear back from FB and when are they going to do something??  How many votes does it take?

I don’t think it’s feasible due to the design, but these are things I should have researched bf I bought it. I kept it; just in case my Alta ever dies, but I love my Alta so much more. Fitbit needs to be more innovative with new products if they want to be successful-

Is this feature in the works? Just replaced the ALTA which was great - so far very disappointed with the Inspire HR, mostly because the font is way too small to read. I loved that the Fitbit notified me of calls and texts but because it's now illegible it's near useless. Thinking of returning unless I know a fix is coming. Please respond.

I recently upgraded my Fitbit to an Inspire HR. I find the messaging on the face to be impossible to read. My former Fitbit had the messages scrolling horizontally when they came across the screen. This allowed the text size to be larger and more readable. I suggest adding a feature (such as they have with Smart Phones) to make the text size larger for those of us that require reading glasses or at least have an option for the messages to be horizontal or vertical. Scrolling the messaging one word at a time was easy to read. Thanks!
