Inspire HR keep display on for longer

Could a feature be added to the Inspire and Inspire that keeps the display on for longer?  I get 3-4 seconds before mine goes dark. If I tap the display after it comes on the display time goes to about 6 sec. Continuing to tap will keep the display on. (I've only tested using the stats display). It would be great if there was a user control to have the current settings marked as "short," something about twice as long as "medium," and a "long" that went to (say) 1 minute. Alternatively the user could select from several timings from the current behavior to a maximum of at least 1 minute. Obviously battery life would suffer with a longer display, but I'd take that trade off.

"RebekahLP" Even if they do updated this, you can bet it will be months from now, if ever. But in the meantime I do have one idea for you to try that might help. Go to the one screen display you need the most, and making sure the screen awake feature is turned on. When lifting your wrist to view the fitbit, like when checking the time on a watch. It should display the screen that was last viewed. Hope that helps.

Just bought the inspire HR and I must say. I really like the device. But the display switching off every 3 seconds defeats the point of having a tracker.

If it can stay on for the relaxation activities it should be able to do the same for the stop watch etc

Dear mercy, YES!

We have two, both Inspire HR - one replaces a Fitbit Zip which has died.

My 85yo mother is having fits because the screen display is too short, and I have a movement disorder that makes it very frustrating trying to do anything with it.

I so agree. It's very frustrating to feel like I have to constantly press the button on my Inspire HR just to use it as a watch throughout the day. I would like to have to watchface on all the time, or at least longer than just a few seconds at a time.

Very concerned about such a short screen tie. Please allow user to adjust screen time soon, otherwise I'm going to have to return the device.... Thanks

Fitbit Inspire HR - DAY 2
The amount of display time is RIDICULOUS. ☹️
Some older people have not so good eyesight. Eye adjustment to tiny **ahem** font is hard.
So it would be nice to let user set time in seconds, or Short Pause, Long Pause, or even stay on.
i know i know future version if ever or upgrade to more expensive version... or just plain not in the works😮

I'm enjoying my new Inspire HR, but was surprised both that 1) the screen timeout is so short and 2) there is no way to change the timeout period. Please implement a timeout length option. Thanks.

This feature should be added. I just got my first Fitbit and it's useless for actual workouts as the timeout is way too short. I expected screen timeout duration would be a standard feature on all the devices. Seems like a trivial feature but it is pretty essential for me.

Inspire HR device. New Fitbit user. Likely won't be a user for long of this feature isn't available.

I recently received a Fitbit Inspire HR as a gift and I find it VERY FRUSTRATING that the screen is only visible for 3 seconds, that may be ok for young people but it is not helpful for me. I am sure the reason is to maximize battery life but if the comments on this web page are anything to go by this problem needs to be sorted asap, we should have a choice of anything up to a minute of screen time.

I just received the Inspire HR.  So far it is OK but the screen timeout is way too short.  I am continuously getting frustrated with it because I have to constantly tap the side button to read the display.  When I try to read a notification and it disappears before I finish reading it I cannot retrieve the notification and do not know what was said.  Being able to adjust the display time would be a great option to have.

Please for the love of God. The screen times out and turns off so fast I can't even read it before it goes dark. I just  got the thing and it's already driving me crazy. I've had a Charge, Charge HR, and Charge 2 and none of them were like this.

I would also love to see a longer display time. I am in medical need of watching my heart beat/pulse do to Atrial Fibrillation. A longer display time would be most helpful.

"Let's see what other user's say about this" is such a non-answer......

@LanuzaFitbit This was your comment 6 months ago and clearly the user's 100% want this feature. Myself included.

Were you ever intending to get back to us with an update?

I agree with TomWKF.  I have had my Inspire HR since June, and even before that people were asking for this to be fixed.  It seems like the Fitbit company does not care about listening to its customers or even having the courtesy to respond.  If this is not corrected, I will never buy a Fitbit product again.

Yeah after placing my thumbs up here a month ago and adding a comment (and seeing various other people do so and comment as well) I'm pretty sure that Fitbit employees are not reading these messages - they are just moving people here from other places to keep the other threads clean. As far as I can see there has been no comment here about this feature update or request in a long time from Fitbit themselves.

100% agree. This addition is a must for an update.

I have a fitbit ionic which has this feature.

I have just bought the inspire HR for my 72 year old father following some heart problems, by the time he's focused on his hr, the display has gone off and he's none the wiser what his hr is.
