Integrate with Apple Watch

The options available for wearing your FitBit with business casual clothing is extremely limited. Please partner with Apple & allow us to use the Apple Watch to track our steps for a premium subscription. I love the APP & currently proudly wear my flex daily, but would really like the option available when the Apple Watch is released.

Im wondering if there are quality issues. When I was wearing both my fitbit and Apple watch I would take note that often getting up from my desk that counting out steps my fitbit would be be really accurate but my Apple Watch would only record about 1/3 to 1/2 of the stepps and sometimes would not pick up any at all....I wonder if Apples hardware on the watch is just not up for the task

That's not my experience at all. My watch and Fitbit One give very similar step counts. My Fitbit Charge (used for sleep tracking) wildly over-counts steps (unless I wear my winter coat, in which case it often forgets to count altogether).

I'll stick with Fitbit as long as my trackers keep working but I won't buy another. I'd still happily pay for premium membership if steps from my watch counted for challenges but otherwise if I want another tracker (I find the sleep tracking useful do it's possible), I think I'll opt for a Jawbone.

My feeling is that Fitbit doesn't really care about its customers and the only way we'll get integration is if Apple buys Fitbit. (I don't think that'll happen but I do think it may be what Fitbit is hoping for.)

The fact that the iPhone 5S and higher can be used to track steps for challenges and not the Apple watch kind of kills the quality arguement.

And we've already seen numerous third party apps try to fill the gap and provided unofficial syncing from health kit to fit bit and back.

Everything syncs, but fitbit simply doesn't consider the data from health kit to be legitimate and cannot be used for contests.

To be fair, the Watch came out with it's own limitations due to health kit encryption that wouldn't allow 3rd party apps to access the heart reate monitor until almost 6-7 months AFTER the release of the product.

Watch OS2 has been out since October 2015 and the Nike Plus Running App still has not been updated to take advantage of the native hardware and TIM COOK SITS ON THE NIKE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS AN ADVISOR.

Fortunatley reports for Watch OS3 are extremely positive and it seems like its going to be the OS that should have been released in the first place.

I'd love to See Nike, Apple and Fitbit come together and create a truly incredible eco system paired with integrated hardware that shares the best parts of what draws us to each product in the first place.

I appreciate all the comments on this thread regarding integration with Apple Watch. Several months has past and so far there is no app with this functionality available. Even though there are some signals that this eventually will come we do not have a timetable for this. I therefore suggest we will keep on posting new comments reminding Fitbit about our request for development until it has been delivered.

When will we get the Fitbit app with the Apple Watch or Health app integration? Fitbit should come up with a time table for this. I would like to have this now. Getting impatient of waiting for this to happen. We need some immediate feedback from Fitbit on this issue! Everybody out there in the Fitbit community tired of waiting for a response from Fitbit please post a comment.

I totally agree. This is ridiculous, Fitbit can make a lot of money if they allow the Apple Watch and the servers and app to work together. This would be a game changer for Fitbit and such an achievement for them.
They need to get this sorted out as they're missing out on money and customers. If there's an issue, tell us. If you're going to but not now, tell us. Just tell us when we will get this.
Fitbit-- you need to do better especially with this great piece of equipment out and waiting for your developers to take control and use it.

I've been watching this post for awhile now, and am going to unfollow it because it's pointless and we aren't hearing anything from Fitbit. Disappointing they don't listen to their users or feedback. I gave up my Fitbit months ago for an Apple Watch, and am watching my friends and family do the same. I miss being able to compete with them in step competitions, but we are finding other apps to stay motivated, such as Step Bet. Pay $50 and join a challenge. If you meet your step goals after six weeks, you get your money and split the money in the pot (from those who don't make their goal) with the other winners.

Hi there

I'm a huge Fitbit fan. I have a Surge and a Blaze. I've passed my Charge HR on to my daughter and I've either bought or recommended Fitbit devices for many family and friends.

But I also own an Apple Watch and there are days when I'd prefer to use it as it offers functions that go beyond the Blaze and Surge. For me, it would be a complementary part of the Fitbit ecosystem, not a competitor.

So, how about it? A simple Apple Watch app that counts steps, measures heart rate and does basic exercise tracking that works with the Fitbit app.

Pretty please.

Anthony

I'm chiming in as the 1 millionth person who would like to see Fitbit and Apple Watch integration. We would be willing to pay for the ability to use our Apple Watch and still compete with our friends in fitbit challenges. The fact that so many customers have asked for this and Fitbit hasn't responded swiftly is not only bad customer service but they're gonna lose out on potential business. Come on Fitbit!!! It's a no brainer! The same way Amazon sells the Kindle but has a kindle app on the iPad.

While I understand Fitbit's current strategic reasons for not allowing sync with Apple Watch (most of their revenue today is from hardware sales, and in future it'll be from the vast amounts of user data they'll have) - I think it's a little short sighted not to give their users what they want (and are clearly willing to pay for) and take advantage of the huge install base of Apple Watch owners + Apple's really poor execution of health & fitness.

Change your model, make owners happy, add an instant new revenue stream and grow your own install base. No brainer Fitbit.

My experience (my Charge, only really worn at night, has already been replaced twice under warranty and I suspect it'll break again before the warranty runs out next year) is that Fitbit just aren't very good at hardware. A move towards getting Premium subscribers without the need to make reliable hardware seems to make good business sense to me.

I'm still amazed at how slow Fitbit is to respond to this simple request if they are not planning to allow for app to support that watch they should at least acknowledge that fact.

In the meantime people we need to use apps like Under Amour Record or StrideKick and team up with all our friends.

You're so right. My mom got an Apple Watch for her birthday yesterday only because her fitbit fell apart. For months she was putting glue and tape on it. Lol! She was holding on to it for dear life and the glue and tape looked crazy. We would all be willing to pay a monthly subscription to fitbit to continue doing fitbit challenges with our friends using Apple Watch. I would even still use the fitbit app to log my water and workouts and sleep. What's the holdup? I can't believe Fitbit is this stubborn. Lol

I posted earlier in this thread, but I'm just about done.....I have really been getting into the Apple Health App.....I really like have the competetive aspect when I wear my fitbit, but I am really thinking of taking my business elsewhere & purchasing an Apple health compatible device that I can just rotate with my Apple watch as the occasion merrits........One more email to Fitbit & a space of time then I'm gone.

I think that the Apple Watch/sync solver should not count as a third party. it's so frustrating to me when my challenges don't sync correctly because Fitbit thinks I could be cheating when you can't add steps to an Apple Watch

I'm done, I finally just caved in and switche to my Apple Watch as my full time wrist piece. The only thing I'm losing by not using a Fitbit arr the friend challenges. I am selling my surge. Fitbit could make a killing with a compatible Apple Watch/fitbit pay app for users like us that use both devices.

Amen! I quit about a month ago. I still read these post but haven't even opened my Fitbit AP or charged my surge! I'm full time Apple Watch and so is my daughter. We missed the challenges at first but not now. I hope more people join this and just give up on Fitbit. Their watches are junk but they have a good App. I went through 3 Fitbit charges in 1 year due to them falling apart.

My whole family also gave up everyone now has the Apple Watch and we just use Record or StrideKick if we want to still do competitions. Sweet thing we can now compete with all our friends with Fitness trackers except Microsoft Band users!

I have bought several FitBits as well as the scale. I would love to be able to integrate FitBit into Apple Watch. Even pay a one-time fee

Yes, please integrate.  I tried the Blaze for a while and I just needed more of what a true smart watch offered.  I do like competing against friends and family and prefer the fitbit interface, but not enough to wear an apple watch and a blaze.  Like others on this thread, I would pay for a monthly/annual subscription to get the two to talk to each other.

Yes, please allow the steps from the Apple Watch or Apple Health app to be able to sync into the Fitbit App, so we can participate in challenges with other Fitbit users.  This would be very valuable and would expose Apple users to the Fitbit community.  As an Apple user I would be willing to pay a subscription or paid for app to be able to integrate with the Fitbit app.

As a long time FitBit user (many years) and a new Apple Watch owner, I agree with everyone who commented above.

Please integrate Apple Watch info such that they count in challenges, daily leader boards, etc.
