Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Please add the support as many have requested. It is a feature i would like to use. There clearly is demand for integration from your loyal customers (page 112) as i'm posting this. Thank You!

Quite simply. this is stopping me from buying a FitBit device. I just purchased a Withings scale instead of an Aria, and while I like the FitBit app, it's not worth sacrificing integration for.

Sadly given up Fitbit as a lost cause. Dumped my Aria scale as it was very inaccurate. Switched to Withings and Apple Watch and closed my Fitbit account. Fed up with them. Sent on the move...

OMG, I just bought my FITBIT assuming that it was integrated to the HealthKIT.. I mean it only makes sense.. I found this forum and I am ggreeatly dissapointed that its been well over a year that the world has been requesting integration!!!

I wish I never bought this device.. in any case live and learn, with no interation it is worthless to me as a health device.. I depend on all information hitting the healthkit, because of the saring other , better apps can diagnose the imformtion better.

Looks like you guys wukk be losing a new customer because of stupidity.

Hopefuly you guys will fire the marketing director or CIO CEO etc.. becuse I predict with no integration, you will be gone by next year.. its happned many times before because of vain Stuborness.  Sad very sad...

@Stebo, I certainly hope that you can return it for a refund. Many of us past loyal customers have been hoping for integration for a long time. Unfortunately for us, we are unable to return our devices for a refund. We have, however, moved on to much better products and companies that listen and support their clients.

This forum gives the illusion that Fitbit is listening to you. But they are not really. It's been now 18+ months, 113 pages of pleading by many customers like you who have been deceived by Fitbit into believing that their devices are truly iOS compatible only to discover that the critical HealthKit is not integrated. I encourage you to write reviews on social media and spread the word that Fitbit is not a company that's credible and worth investing in.

There are much better emerging products out there from Withings, Garmin, Jawbone, to name a few that do integrate with HealthKit. Do your research before your next purchase and good luck. You'll be happy that FitBit will not have ownership of your personal health data.

I, too, will not buy any new FitBit products until they support Apple Health.

Sadly, I too had to vote with my feet. Due to lack of integration (as well as a highly inaccurate Fitbit Aria that I have now dumped) I have ceased to use all Fitbit products and closed my account. I now use a Withings scale, which is a much better product, as well as being reliable and accurate, and an Apple Watch. I used to like Fitbit, but times have changed and technology has moved on. I also resent my date being harvested in this way and not available for use in other apps and products. After all, it is my health and my data!

Hi everyone,

I have been reading these posts for a couple of months and recently purchased the apps to sync the Fit Bit to the Apple Health Ap. I then discovered that my iPhone 6 tracks steps by itself so I had to select between the phone and the Charge HR as a source of step counting. I selected the phone because the Charge can be confused by holding my arm steady when walking (as with holding a leash for my dog) or when using my arm and not walking (as when raking my leaves). This means that the only data I am getting from my Charge HR is my heart rate. It also seems that after the last iOS update (9.2) my Fit Bit Charge HR no longer syncs with my phone even with the purchased apps. So, to sum up, the Fit Bit Charge HR does a very good job of tracking my heart rate, not as good a job of tracking steps, and does not record either to the Apple Health ap. Since my phone tracks steps on its own, do I need the ability to sync my heart rate? Hmm.

Fitbit doesn't want to integrate with HealtKit because it encroaches on their monopoly.  They only want to support their own products because its more $$ for them if you have to use all their products.  Booo fit bit.  Booo.

As the biggest player and most recognizeable name in fitness-tracking devices, it seems indefensible that FitBit still doesn't integrate with Health Kit. Every other major fitness tracker integrates, as well as apps from much smaller developers. Even a third party, SyncSolver, was able to develop a bridge (which your latest API change disabled). All of my health/fitness apps work with Health except fitbit. The purpose of using technology to improve fitness and health is to streamline the process, not make it more clunky. Please integrate with Apple HealthKit.

I want to see all my data in one place... Apple Health...

I just got a Fitbit charge HR for christmas 2015 and I was originally excited. I'm frustrated to see that I cannot pull the data into apples health app. My Withings hardware does it, so does MyFitnessPal. I am contemplating a return because my understanding is this: i expect each item/hardware to do their job very well and the hardware needs to aggregate it's data into a central location. Sadly the Fitbit does its job very well, but it doesn't share the data and that turns me off. At this point, the Apple Watch seems like a better idea because I'm already half-way-there, dollar wise. Regards, Chad crane

Amazing. I just got my Charge HR and I found out that I will not see it in my Health app. I really hope that within short period of time you will fix this, if not I will simply switch to other toys which do communicate with my phone. Simple as that.

Oh dear. Just opened my Charge HR, set it up and discovered it doesn't integrate with Apple Health! Didn't see that mentioned in the reviews I read. Buyer beware I guess, but this will be getting returned tomorrow for something that isn't intentionally crippled just to lock you in to FitBi'ts apps ( I can see the irony coming from an Apple user! )

Best advice - dump Fitbit and get an Apple Watch, as they are not interested in helping their customers. I deleted my Fitbit account and dumped Aria as well. Best decision of 2015! Good luck! Sent on the move...

If Fitbit integrated natively with iOS health app, buying one would be easy for me.

Just bought a fitbit.. Now considering bringing it back because there is no integration with Apple Health Kit. A very big letdown!

I've had my Fitbit since March 2015 and at the time I had an android. I recently got an iPhone 6 in October 2015 and I had no idea the products didn't sync with each other. That should be common sense...one of the most popular cellular devices and one of the most popular fitness trackers should be able to integrate with each other. Not to be TMI but even the app I use to track my cycle syncs with Apple Health! It's almost 2016, I suggest listening to your customers. But until then, my next fitness tracker would not be a Fitbit. Apple Watch is too expensive so I most certainly won't be getting that anytime soon. But there are other pretty decent fitness trackers out there that actually integrate with Apple Health so I don't see why you guys would risk losing customers...

Please stop being stubborn and support the Health App sync. We bought your device instead of the Apple Watch, you're already winning, just help us with better integration.

@Scrowley, loyal customers have been pleading like you for the last 18+ months only to receive empty platitudes from Fitbit. This forum gives the illusion Fitbit is listening. They're not acting.

If you're one of those who received / purchased Fitbits over the holidays expecting HealthKit integration. I'd return it and get a better product that does integrate (e.g. Withings, Garmin, Jawbone, etc.) Also make sure to leave reviews in the App Store and social media to let unsuspecting iOS users know of this deception that Fitbit claims to be iOS compatible. This deception has been going on for far too long.

The one present I wanted for Christmas this year was a Fitbit Charge HR. Everyone in my family was thinking about getting one too after seeing how happy I was. Now I am going to return it as Fitbit won't cooperate with Healthkit. I have to go tell them all not buy your products either. Really unfortunate.

I would never of purchased my Charge HR if I'd of known that Fitbit didn't support Apple HealthKit... I don't want a million fitness apps for my health, I want one and for them all to integrate with eachother simply. So dissapointed.

Hi. Please add my name to the growing list of Fitbit users that are asking for Apple Healthkit data sync'ing. I'm honestly pretty bummed that this hasn't been done already. Our personal health data is ours, not yours. You have a great product. Now set the data free...
