Hi there,
I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall. I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.
This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs! Thanks!

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.
If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic. Moderator edit: Added labels.

With Pokémon Go's release, it would be great to see that Fitbit, the authority in wearable fitness trackers and the app Pokémon Go which encourages its players to walk around and discover the world using their feet, join forces for a better you. Hitting your goals and catching your beloved Pokémon, is there anything else better than that? Whenever you reach your Fitbit goal, you'll get a little in-game item for Pokémon go. Pokémon related badges will also add spice to your collection of badges. You can brag it off to your friends as a sort of badge that you and Pokémon accomplished.
I think this would be a very good move for Fitbit since they have been the forerunner in the wearable fitness trackers industry and with the popularity of Pokémon Go, what better way than 2 giants in the industry joining together. Makes sense right?
Thanks for reading.

Can we please have something that syncs our fit bit stats with our S Health stats? It's annoying to have multiple fitness platforms especially now that androids are becoming more and more popular as are fitness apps. It would be nice to do it all from one place.

It would be really good to be able to sync my Fitbit with the Sweat with Kayla app, as opposed to having to using several apps to get the information to transfer over.

The TCX for a pool swim using a Fitbit Ionic (and possibly other models) is missing virtually all detail (only useful data is the activity start date).
Please can we generate a simple TCX that reflects the length splits. This would involve generating a set of <Trackpoint> nodes that look like the following:
<Trackpoint> <Time>2018-08-08T10:21:42Z</Time> <DistanceMeters>25</DistanceMeters> </Trackpoint>
<Trackpoint> <Time>2018-08-08T10:22:11Z</Time> <DistanceMeters>50</DistanceMeters> </Trackpoint>
<Trackpoint> <Time>2018-08-08T10:22:34Z</Time> <DistanceMeters>75</DistanceMeters> </Trackpoint>
etc...
The Fitbit user who first brought this to our attention bought the watch in the hope that she would be able to export her data to her favourite website to analyse her splits on long-distance training. A lot of our users (30,000 monthly unique visitors) make their tech purchasing decisions based on the capabilities of the manufacturer's platform to export that data for detailed analysis. Garmin and TomTom watches already offer this. If Fitbit can make this happen, we'd be sure to share it with our users. It may not be directly relevant to our runners and bikers, but it would be a great example for us to highlight how Fitbit is a malleable platform that responds to user needs.
Thanks for reading!

At the moment it's almost impossible to correctly track stepsPerHour in a clock face. It is not exposed via the activity API, and tracking it manually is very buggy since Clockfaces do not update when the display is off -- as a result, correctly syncing the current steps value on the hour, every hour is not really possible. Here's a thread from 2018 where a Fitbit developer agrees there's no way to do this: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/SDK-Development/Steps-this-Hour-on-a-Watch-Face/m-p/2942003/highlight/true#M6090. There's many other similar threads of hacks people have tried to do to display this, but it's been 2 years and no updates have been made to the API to fix this. 🙏 🙏 🙏

The current Fitbit integration with MapMyRun is really not practical for what most users of mapmyrun actually use. MapMyRun is primarily used as a place to track the actual runs a person runs and the other features of MapMyRun and MyFitnessPal all work off this basic functionality. The current integration does NOT do this.
What everyone else who claims to have an integration with MapMyRun does is this.
Export from Fitbit to MapMyRun the actual run event which includes the following:
1. Distance
2. Steps
3. Duration
4. Average Pace
5. Calories
6. Time
7. GPS mapping information
8. Splits, if possible
9. Heartrate
The current tracker sends over general daily information, which it is very interesting, it really is not that relevant as it relates to the use of MapMyRun. You really should remove any advertising of an integration with MapMyRun until you actually import the event. Your current integration with MapMyRun is basically useless, for all practical purposes.

There is this great app called Sleep cycles! I’ve used this app for ever and it’s revolutionized the way I wake up in the morning. Here’s how it works: you set your alarm -say 6:30- and during the times 6:00-6:30 it will wake you up when you are at your most woke period during the 30 minute time period. It is wonderful for waking up naturally and I can’t live without it! If Fitbit could make the app compatible with the alarm and sync the sleep already gathered from previous cycles that would be awesome!!! If it doesn’t I won’t die I’ll just use the Sleep Cycle app and rely on the stats provided by Fitbit! But it would be so cool if we could sync up the stats and have the alarm wake up when the app wakes you up!

There are so many feature requests, and a lot of them can't be added because of time or not enough people to help write it. So why not make the device code open source? It would make it so that so many developers could help add features, "apps", and many other cool things to all the prouducts. Just look at Google, most of their programs are open source and look how much they have done! So why not make the device code open source? What harm could it do? How hard would it be? People could make the devices more secure, better, and more awesome. I'm guessing the code is C, Assembly, or some other very basic language, and im guessing multiple FitBit owners that are programmers could help. If the code goes on GitHub it would be easier to help instead of putting the code somewhere else like apple (This isn't a big part of my feature request, but it would be helpful), so many people could just go write a feature for the prouduct they have and then FitBit could be even better! This is how i believe the Open Source system should work:
post each device as a seperate project on GitHub or some other git-related website
have people submit features through Pull Requests
if it is safe, let users test their own code, or just test it like you do before normal updates
send the update out to everyone! (you may also want to have a Developer update channel so people can help test features)
and by doing something like this, people could help and take some work off of the developers.
So lets make FitBit open source! It would be amazing!

I love the workout tracking and community features of the Fitbit iOS app. I own a Microsoft Band, and it'd really improve my experience to see the data from my band pulled into the Fitbit app along with my other Fitbit data. Then steps I take and workouts I complete without my phone will still go to my Fitbit profile.

Proposal: Add a new collection exercises to the notification Web API. Justification: Many 3rd party fitness apps track exercise but not steps. To improve these integrations it would be useful to receive notification updates through the Web API when new exercises are completed. Currently this is done through the activities collection, however an update is triggered every time new steps are synced to Fitbit. This means for a single user who runs or bikes 2 or 3 times a week, several hundred notifications will be issued, generating hundreds of API calls to synchronize and discard this activity. For a fitness application with hundreds of thousands of users these unnecessary notifications creates a significant and unnecessary scaling burden on both Fitbit and the 3rd party application.

I have a Fitbit sense. I can see my SpO2 results in the Fitbit App. I do not see the endpoint API as an option Web API reference. Perhaps it is there and I did not find it. If that is the case, I apologize for missing this. If the endpoint API is not listed, please provide it to us. Thank you.

Currently when I ride my bike on my trainer (no GPS movement) I monitor speed and cadence with WAHOO speed and cadence sensors. It would be awesome if the WAHOO app could access the HR info from my fitbit and then allow all of the info, Speed, Cadence, Distance, Time, HR to be transferred to the Dashboard. That would allow accurate calculations of calories burnt, activity level, etc. It is neither easy or straightforward to do that now. I currently have to upload the WAHOO info to MyFitnessPal and/or Strava and then they sync with Fitbit. Speed and Cadence are NOT transferred and I can't seem to figure out how to manually add them. I'm waiting for my Blaze to arrive so my HR data will go in, but it still makes for messy entry of the rest of the info. On a side note: I considered switching to a Garmin Vivoactive HR, as it was MUCH easier for tracking indoor cycling, but I like the fit and style of the fitbit better (I have VERY small arms and the Garmin was HUGE!!!) I'm hoping that by the time I need an upgrade either Garmin will make a smaller product or FitBit will do better integration with third-party sensors AND become waterproof AND have internal GPS tracking, but still look great. Viva la Fitbit!

Dear FitBit:
I know there are a lot of FitBit users who would really like FitBit to be compatabile with the Strava.com website and app. Currently FitBit works with RunKeeper, MapMyRun (and MapMyRide), but not with Strava. Strava provides much more details than RunKepper and MapMyRun and is also a more bike-friendly app than MapMyRide. I posted this same request on your Facebook and have sent emails to you as well. As you can see from your forum and from googling "FitBit sync to Strava" there are many people complaining that this is not already a feature. PLEASE PLEASE work on this feature..... it would be very welcomed and only make me more of a FitBit supporter.
Sincerely, Randy Wood A FitBit Surge Owner / Biker / Runner

In THIS THREAD there's been quite a discussion on the desires of some for certain other apps to sync with FitBit, particularly for me the Cyclemeter app. In that link you can see a lot of the pros and cons of Cyclemeter vs. Strava and to be honest, Strava stinks.
I have reached out to Cyclemeter and they have passed along the request to sync with FitBit but they said unless there is a lot more interest (apparently I was the first to ask), they would have to hold off and maybe in the distant future.
I'm sure if FitBit contacted Cyclemeter that could get things sped up and interests piqued!

Hi All, as several times stated here, Fitbit is not planning a integration into Apple Health (sync of your data into Apple Ecosystem) From my point of view it is an killer feature to enable or create such a integration, as e.g. the Ionic is designed to be a Smart enabled Fitness Watch, but in contrast to the Apple Watch more fitness oriented, better battery life etc. And compared with other "Fitness Watches" more Smart. Apple guys like it smart xD So in this case it would be (e.g. the Ionic) the perfect counterpart for Apple Watch for Apple follower - Smart, stylish, Fitness oriented. But one thing is missing, the integration into iOS Health. -> If Fitbis is still against a integration into Apple Health, PLEASE allow 3rd party developers to access the Fitness Data - but not only on a daily basis (total numbers/summary per day). A hourly basis is required for a correct implementation of the Data Sync. Otherwise the data in Health will be not usefull. Please implement a). Apple Health integration b). Export of Health data (ALL) by 3rd party Devs Thanks

I want to be able to restrict when and what data is shared with 3rd parties such as Vitality. There scheme used to offer weekly rewards based on weekly steps but this reward scheme is now changing. They no Ionger offer the same weekly benefits and so I feel vitality are getting access to more step data than they need. There should be a way to restrict the data shared to the period required to claim a specific reward and yearly data if choosing to renew the policy for the next year.

I would love it if Fitbit could eventually become compatible with the app called Sweatcoin. I always have my fit bit on me however I don't always have my phone on me. Sweatcoin pays me for the number of steps I take, and when I don't have my phone it's not recording the steps, therefore I'm not making anything. My fit bit registered today I'd walked 4728 steps and Sweatcoin only picked up 1800 of those steps. I would definitely love it if you could make the two apps compatible!

Now that fitbit has officially bought Pebble’s assets, it’d make a lot of sense for fitbit to add some Pebble-like features to its existing line or announce a program for Pebble-like additions to new products. The apps and watchfaces built for Pebble products can really open up new possibilities for fitbit trackers and smartwatches. If Pebble developpers were to get a clear signal about what might be coming, they could help fitbit in a very significant way.
