In the horrific new iOS app, which needs to be jettisoned ASAP, I have to go through a cumbersome, multi-step process to connect to the stats for my minor children. I have to go to the family button, and then add a device to even bring up the existing childrens’ accounts. And then I have to go up to the settings wheel to toggle back. Why???

I would like to be able to display time in 24h format on my son's Ace. It does not seem possible. With other fitbit trackers this is done via the web portal but the Ace does not appear on the web portal.

Please consider implementing this, it is a basic but super important feature.

Thanks.

Edited for clarity on 10/22/18, since my original post seems to have been misleading:

------------------------

Several months ago, my 8 year old participated in an important all-day assessment. Leading up to the big day, she was experiencing symptoms of anxiety. On the day of the assessment, we let her wear a Charge 2 and taught her to use the relaxation breathing function on her own. It was an invaluable tool  in guiding her breathing and refocusing her attention. It gave her the confidence she needed to take on a scary day when we couldn't be with her. It didn't even fit her properly and the function still worked perfectly fine for her.

I am sad to see that the Fitbit Ace does not have something similar to the relax feature. Please add it!!! Today’s kids are more anxious than any previous generation and most of them already know the benefits of mindful breathing.

Many people have said that I am asking for something that can't be done without heart rate sensing. This is not the case. I believe Fitbit could easily create the code for a simple timed-breathing exercise to guide children through regulating their breathing that would not require heart rate sensing IN ANY WAY. They key to the feature's success is the visual cues for inhaling and exhaling at regular intervals. Kids LOVE the circle growing and shrinking around the heart.

Still others have said that Fitbit is focused only on getting kids more active. If that's the case, I'm very disappointed. My Fitbit Charge2 does a lot of things for me besides getting me more active. I would hope that FitBit's goal for a device for kids would be a little more robust and ambitious than a Bluetooth enabled pedometer. The Ace, as it is currently designed, is just that and therefore not worth what Fitbit is charging.

Ace users should be allowed to add friends outside of the family feature so that they can challenge their friends without the parents having to get involved. It could be a parent control to allow the addition of the friends. Once the parent confirms than the child should be able to challenge that friend.

I have been Fitbit members for a few years now and we love it! We are highly considering getting a couple Fitbit Ace’s for our kids. The only thing that would make them better would be a hidden GPS tracker, so we could track their location! It’s a scary world out there and this feature would give parents the sense of reassuring.

Please implement chores for Ace.  It would be nice for kids to not only track and meet their exercise goals, but kids also love getting rewarded for the things they do, why not chores?

  • Ace Kids Tracker

Fitbit needs to add text message notifications to the Ace. It doesn't make sense to have only call notifications. There are many kids with iPod touches and iPads that communicate with text messaging years before they get a phone. Also, there are 13+ year olds with adult accounts that have small wrists so they would buy an Ace and would certainly make use of this. Please add more notification options on the next firmware update. Thank you

Just got an Ace 2 for my son.  The screen timeout is 2 seconds.  No way to adjust.  For little kids, that is way too fast of a screen timeout.  It frustrates them.  For little kids learning to tell time, 2 seconds is not long enough for them to see the screen.  The screen should be illuminated at least 5 seconds before turning off.  Considering returning the Ace 2 for this reason if the Garmin kids' band or other brand is more kid-friendly in that regard.

My little one has moved from a Casio Baby G to the Fitbit ACE 2. He really misses the weather. It would be great if a weather tile could be added to the ACE 2. It could...

  • Show an icon with the forecast (Sun, Partly Cloudy, Overcast, Rainy, Thunderstorms, etc)
  • When tapped would show Max, Min, Current Temp (at last Sync), and Update (trigger on demand Sync)
  • Would be updated on Sync.

Hope to see this soon. Would have been happy to code this myself but I understand there's no SDK available for the ACE 2. The sooner one is available the better :-). My LO is seriously disappointed by the lack of Apps for the device. It's super basic. The Xiaomi devices cost less and are feature full. Wasn't expecting the same however the Ace is completely barebones and doesn't create a good impression.

A "It's almost bedtime" (aka "go brush your teeth") and "It's bedtime" alarm would be a great feature for the Ace.  I think it would really help kids take some ownership in their sleep habits and would be pretty helpful to parents as well.

I want the Ace 2 t to basically only function as a watch during the school day so my son doesn't get distracted scrolling through the other data. It was be useful to allow parents to do this screen lock feature.

Hi, I see that there are some suggestions for alarm with label. I guess this would be covering reminders with text. I have 2 kids with the need of being reminded on almost everything during the day. Because they have problems with focus and concentration this will be a need they have even as adults.

I love the small watches you have like Alta and Ace. Not many buttons or functions that will take the focus from the kids. And I realized, please confirm that it is possible through a family account to set an alarm on a kid watch. Take the scenario when eating breakfast; Hi kid, today you must remember to take the bus to you Grandmother after school, because we are not home. We will pick you up later. Then I can enter my Fitbit app, select the kids watch and set a reminder at 13:50 pm with the note: Bus to Grandmother.

Please understand this is not just a useful function for me, but it is a feature that will appeal to many parents that always must call to check if the kid remembered to take the right bus. In my situation with my 2 kids, we must have the teacher to remind them about things during the school time, we call to remind, but they don’t always have their phone on, or it is on silent, or forgot it, or lost it, or forgot to charge it. I'm hoping that with the help of a device on the arm, that lasts for several days, we can relax a bit more, and the kids doesn't need to get a reminder from the worried parents.

My daughter has ADHD and we are currently looking for a watch that sends reminders (ie. Brush your teeth, get dressed for school, eat breakfast) to help with her time management. Other watches on the market are quite large. I would buy her a Fitbit ace in a heartbeat if we were able to sync in to her iPad calendar

Hi there,

I am wondering why bed time reminders, cheers, taunts and messages go to the phone/laptop the Ace 2 is linked to rather than to the actual device our kids are wearing and if this could be modified?

This device is advertised for 6+ years old. Many kids do not have their own secondary device and as a result their Fitbit Ace 2 are linked to their parents phone or laptop like my 9 years' old Ace 2 is. It makes no sense for kids to have to check an app on a secondary device to see a reminder for bedtime (which of course they won't see in real time as the phone/device may be in another room) to  see if they have received a cheer or message or a reminder to wind down for bed when the device they are wearing on their arm can and should be showing them this information in real time as it is actually on their wrist.

We are trying to encourage our children to be physically active and mindful of sleep (which also does not show up on the device) yet you are asking kids to go find the device their Fitbit Ace 2 is linked to to see reminders and cheers and sleep hours.

Please can I ask that you look into making these features visible on the Ace 2 device. I know my daughter would love to see a 'cheer' pop up on her device during the day! These features would really make the Fitbit Ace 2 stand out from competitors and the kids would be so excited to have them!

A software that allows children to earn their own screen time based on reaching physical activity goals tracked by a Fitbit. Parents define activity goal and once the child reaches that goal, the child's device is automatically rewarded with Screen Time.

Example: 5,000 Steps = 30 Minutes of Screen Time

We have 3 fitbit devices all synced to my phone:

- my versa

- my son's ace (child account)

- my daughter's ace (child account)

The fitbit application should be able to identify that there are multiple devices linked to the same account, and attempt to sync everything at the same time. We shouldn't have to constantly change accounts to perform the sync.

For example, even if me and my kids are all staying on the couch, the mobile application performs the sync only for the account that is currently logged in.

I would love if the Ace displayed the child's name. I have 3 kids with the exact same Ace and it is very hard not getting their ACE's mixed up. Would love to see this as an optional feature added to the ACE.

Just bought my son a ace 2 which he is very happy with, however I somehow missed on the feature list that it doesn't recieve any text notifications. The call notification is great, but it would be much more practical to have some text notification.

  • Ace Kids Tracker

Make fitibits designed for kids also usable by adults and make it possible to set up a kids fitbit with a regular account instead of only a kids account.

I think the ability to dim the display on the ACE would be helpful. It is extremely bright when a child is wearing it to bed and it lights up when they move their arm too hard. Or possibly the feature to turn off the display at certain times while still tracking the stats.

  • Ace Kids Tracker

Make the Ace waterproof for swimming.  Kids go to camp in the summer - can't be expected to take the thing off for swimming -- it'd definitely get lost/forgotten. They need to be wearing the thing at all times and it needs to be waterproof. Showerproof is not enough.

Great idea but missing this key feature.

I'd like the ability to have a clock face on the Fitbit Ace that is not digital - i.e. a clock face with hands.

My daughter is learning to tell the time, and I would like to encourage her to learn the time on an analog clock rather than come to rely on the numbers.

  • Ace Kids Tracker

I remember a few years ago a tomogochi for kids where you had to raise and feed your pet.

How about the same principle for kid's that to feed and wash and play with there pets they have to get there steps write and activity time e.t.c

To feed their pet they have to do 5000 steps.

To exercise their pet they have to do 30 mins of activity.

To make sure there pet rests enough they have to achieve enough sleep at night.

To play with there pet they have to do one of the fitbit challenges and the more they do the more they grow.

  • Ace Kids Tracker

My child’s fitbit ace 2 does not track his exercise. This is very disappointing for my kid who loves to track everything and

uses the past info to help get better. Please get this on the fitbit ace 2!

Please bring back the Fred clock face. There's a lot of very upset kids that Fred is no longer available. Why remove such a popular choice?
  • Ace Kids Tracker

This would be fab! My son is active all day at school and in the evening and is disappointed not to have met any exercise targets..

Greetings Fitbit,
I would like to suggest you to develop simple games and a weather feature onto the Ace 3 watch. Here is a concept I made:
Games: Parents can install games into the Ace 3 watch and set the amount of time children can play. The games can be chosen in the fitbit app.
Weather forecast: It will show the weather and temperature.
  • Ace Kids Tracker
My son has been crying all day because his favorite Ace 2 watch face has disappeared. Fred the Ghost would grow throughout the day until he reached his steps goal. He absolutely loved it, and would talk about Fred all day long. Fred was my son's friend.

I would like to suggest for Children on the Ace2... A VELCRO Strap.

SAFTEY COMES 1ST

1. The current strap, means young children struggles with a buckle with one hand

2. It breaks easy

3. Too many small parts

4. VELCRO would suit all wrist sizes

5. I would also suggest using a harder plastic for the unit.

Fitbit sort it out...Parent of an active child.

My son came home with a broken Ace2, he had only received last week for his birthday. I asked him what had happened, he told me he put the strap in his mouth and the buckle came off...he put these in his pocket for safe keeping to bring home. The buckle is missing.

  1. Why would fitbit make a product that if a child was to put in his mouth could possibly choke him
  2. Make it with a flexible and not so robust plastic buckle that in a child's day to day play could easily break.

This strap is NOT fit for purpose, its a health and safety hazard and the buckle is below average for quality.
