Screen on longer for Ace 2

Just got an Ace 2 for my son.  The screen timeout is 2 seconds.  No way to adjust.  For little kids, that is way too fast of a screen timeout.  It frustrates them.  For little kids learning to tell time, 2 seconds is not long enough for them to see the screen.  The screen should be illuminated at least 5 seconds before turning off.  Considering returning the Ace 2 for this reason if the Garmin kids' band or other brand is more kid-friendly in that regard.

I agree. There needs to be an option for a longer delay. My child has just got theirs and struggles to view and set the countdown in the short period. Also when checking steps.. Needs to be at least 5 seconds or a choice.. Particularly as this product is geared towards children.

Have to agree, 2 second time-out is ridiculous for a 6 year old to try and read steps/time.

This is a huge problem for young children. Watches have become a popular in her class and this one seemed perfect - but we are already planning on buying a different brand because it’s so frustrating for her.  (i realize kids may not be the priority)

Yes I agree between the birth date issue for my child's ace 2 and the screen 2 second time out I am returning this. I have not been impressed with this company.

I agree with the above. My 7 year old has saved for years for this (no exaggeration). We received it today, but the screen is not on long enough for her to work out her steps and the time (she has dyslexia and struggles with numbers). 5 seconds would be much more practical than 2 (even if that means shorter battery life.) we are considering returning the watch because of this issue.

Hi we here in europe need a 24 hour clock. And the screen on time is very short for kids. There must be a setting for that to change it

Yes, 2 seconds just too fast - understand its probably to save battery time but as a kids watch its not functionally acceptable for this short amount of time. My 8 year old is constantly pressing and swiping just to keep up. I imagine those gestures would negate the battery time save on the 2 sec screen off.

Just got the Ace 2 for my 9 year old daughter and the first thing I tried to change was increasing the screen timeout. Please make this adjustable for a minimum of 5 seconds, preferably 10 seconds.

Just hopped on here with the same frustration over the 2-second screen time out for the Ace 2. We purchased one for our 6-yo son's birthday, and he can never read the time or steps before the screen goes black. I'm happy to hear the suggestion for user control is under consideration. Please consider pushing out a notification to all registered Ace 2 users when this feature becomes available. It will be very useful and appreciated!

When will you fix this bug/GUI design fault ??? It's so stupid!

I too have just learnt that the screen timeout is far too short and that there is no option to modify this in settings. It's an obvious update to consider given that the product is marketed at children.

Please fix this!  My 6 year old is soooo frustrated with his new Fitbit... I’m really trying to stay with your products but little things like this make a big difference.

Yes, this is a massive issue. One you would not expect from a company like Fitbit. It’s a fairly basic feature too.  Please fix ASAP or this will have to be returned. It’s driving my 8 year old mad!

JUST HOLD THE SCREEN!!!

I just got this for my son and was about to throw it out the window (meaning return it for my money) Lol. I opened up a chat screen. I was told the ACE 2 does not have the option to make the display last longer. As I told him how ridiculous that is and how much of a waste of money that was spent, he then replies by telling me.....

To try and put my finger on the screen while reading it.

He should have lead with that. And I say that to say this. There are Fit Bit Moderators in here not giving anyone help.

The solution is to place your finger on the screen and hold it there. I still think 10 sec is ideal, but having the ability to the hold the screen is enough for me not to return it.

Agree with comments - we got two for Christmas and the kids are frustrated and quickly losing interest... Thanks for the huge tip, Joby - it does help, though mine stays on maybe a second longer unless I keep tapping it.

My daughters Ace 2 won't track sleep on the unit.  And manual tracking via app won't sync to thw unit either.  Time out screen is ridiculous - needs to be longer 5-10 seconds.

Latest software,  several restarts,  uninstall & reinstall - no fix.

Really? M6 searches reveal many others experiencing the same problems and not getting any answers.

Any assistance?

Or have we become part of the crap heap too?

Agree with all these comments. I changed to the analog clock face and 2 secs is barely time for an adult to read the time let alone a kid who is learning. This setting should have been present right from the start.

RobertR0344
First Steps

Yes I agree. If this was not a present, I would return it. This is only due to the fact that I can’t even set things (let alone my 7 year old) in a 2 second time frame. Change this or lose customers!!!!!! No 6-7 year old should be expected to read time and info from a tiny screen in two seconds. 5-8 seconds would be a world of difference.

+1

2 seconds is VERY short both for our age and kids too. Very sad to read there's no way to extend the timeout.

As an adult trying to figure out the menus and show my kid how to use it, I found the timeout very annoying. Please prioritize this in the next update.

I'm happy to report that the Ace 3 screen time out is also way too short and not configurable.
