Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

@JohnBez Excellent advice! 🙂 I've been doing the same thing. HeartWatch is a great app and I am able to get Autosleep closer to my dedicated sleep track (Oura Ring) with tweaking. There are many alternatives to Fitbit and as Fitbit stays the course of non-integration, the alternatives are getting better and better.

A shame this has not come to be yet. Can someone please explain why this has not happened?

I would like to see integration with Apple as well. I currently have a blaze watch. I plan to get an iWatch in a year or 2, and do not plan on having 2 products. Social networking is the best part of Fitbit, but it can migrate (remember MySpace?). If it hasn't been worked out in a few years, I will likely stop using Fitbit data services. It appears many people want this enough to say something. How many more want it, but simply don't spend the time to write. Best of luck.

Wow, over 2 years ago this was suggested and health integration is still not implemented. Surely it's an obvious feature to implement?

Has anybody from the developer team said if it will ever be implemented?

I would love to see this integration!

This is what I have been posting on their Facebook and twitter messages

Here is a thread over 2 years old. You need to respond or we will escalate this to media outlets and show everyone that Fitbit doesn't listen to customers

I don't think that anyone from Fitbit bothers to read this thread.  If they do, perhaps they would like to comment?  It is high time someone from Fitbit gave a sign that they have noted the dissatisfaction before they go bust.....

Pity, their products are great, the Fitbit App itself is great, there's just one thing missing - the Healthkit integration.  And it will kill them.

Please integrate with the iOS health app.

It's kind of ridiculous you aren't integrated with Apple Health. I'm T1D and use Withings' scale and DexCom's blue tooth constant blood glucose monitor. Having all that data blended would be profoundly valuable.

Hi,

I am just wondering...does the Sync Solver app solve teh issue now?

I do notice that this topic was opened back in iOS 8 days and now we are in IOS 10.

I would also like to see integration with iOS health app added.  Really enjoy the step tracking on the Alta and adding those steps to the Health app would increase usability and provide more value.

I think the key to understanding why this feature is being requested has been consistently mentioned by the community.  As we have moved in 2017, connected hearth continues to be the buzz phrase (just came back from the conference in Washington DC) and many small startups see the value and so should bigger companies.  When a large user base requests a feature one of two things should happen:. 1. Implementation 2. Transparency as to why implementation will not occur.   Executing #2 if #1 is not going to happen allows others in the market a reason to solve the problem even if the solution is not perfect  Hopefully Fitbit does do it but if not, maybe a Kickstarter could be started to get a developer to do it for us.

To answer the question “does the Sync Solver app solve the issue now?” The answer is absolutely not. Sync Solver makes a daily summary available to the Health app, but does not resolve redundancies. This means Health counts your steps from your iPhone, then adds the daily summary from the Sync Solver app. It’s rather painful to delete all those inputs. Also you get no heart rate data… none.

Why is taking more than two years to sync with the Health App.  Please make this possible.  Thank you.

Hi, I would love Fitbit to sync with this app... between both I can kept a much better understanding of my health and keep track on it.

This will never happen. Fitbit has no financial reason to do this. They sell hardware.

The ONLY reason I am still with fitbit is due to step tracking for my health insurance points (Aetna). As soon as Aetna allows steps from my iwatch to count I'm dropping my surge in the trash can. HR is not accurate no matter what anyone says and the band breaks every 12- 18 months. The new iwathc with GPS does everything better than the surge (except battery life) and is 10 times more comfortable to wear.

This should be implemented as quickly as possible.

I just got my Apple Watch recently before the holidays and I love it and as I've said on this forum before, given the age of my Fitbit Charge HR the battery life is actually somewhat comparable but everybody's usage will obviously be different depending upon how you have the watch set and how much activity and other things you have going on during the day.

I've downloaded two apps AutoSleep and HeartWatch which are made by the same company and I'm using that now to track my sleep. Since it has the ability to tweak it's parameters and overall I've been quite happy with it especially since it allows me to completely abandon any more Fitbit products in my life.

I believe seeing a recent press release from Apple stating they will not allow any third-party developer to make money off of healthcare data or HealthKit in any iPhone or iOS products.... I believe that is the final nail in the coffin between Fitbit and Apple ever getting any kind of integration. Fitbit wants to sell all of our health data that's what they make money on. I honestly think they probably make a lot more money on that than they do selling their hardware... who knows but honestly I don't care anymore. And this whole experience in this thread of over two years and thousands of users on the iOS platform being basically kept in the dark with no real answers from this company is deplorable and I'm so happy to be putting this behind me.

In my opinion, it's time to move on from a company that has no interest whatsoever in giving features to a large share of their user base, iOS users, because they're more interested in their own financial gains from mining our health data and marketing it.

Happy New Year!!!

John

Would definitely be better if Fitbit integrated with Apple Health

would be very helpful if Fitbit would pull steps from the health app. I find it silly that they do not.
