Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Well, I'm not really excited to read that Fitbit doesn't seem to be working on integrating with Health App (yet). I wonder if they got upset by Apple Watch or if their connection to Microsoft makes then drag their feet. As a Fitbit user since Spring 2013 I feel betrayed. I'm off to look at other tracker options.

Still trying to figure out why the information in app store is a different version than I have downloaded

It probably goes out to current users first.

you see this

An issue with the App Store has caused some of the app updates released today to crash on launch.

You've gotta be kinding me, right? There's a platform that tens of millions of people will be using, and there needs to be a vote on whether Fitbit should be integrated with it or not?

Yes.

Well I will definately find another brand with a simular ability that does intergrate with healthkit if Fitbit continues to ignore it's customers wishes. I don't believe I would be the only one in fact I believe fitbit will use a very large portion of its customer base if it does not intergrate very quickly as we have already been waiting far to long.

I am already looking at the options on the various wearables and there are plenty.

Your call Fitbit intergrate NOW or byebye!

You update the app, but didn't add syncing with healthkit, WTF. There shouldn't even be a discussion about this. It should of been added as soon as possible. Then it leaves it up to the user, which I would guess most would want it. On the upside the  watch will be out and there will no longer be a need for Fitbit.

Please, please integrate with iOS8 Health. Imperative.

Absolutely. To be clear, not integrating with Healthkit would make fitbit a second rate product at best.

Let's go!!! Why was there an update today that did not include HealthKit integration??? Is it not clear this is what users want?

Couldn't agree more.  I was excited when I saw that my Fitbit App had an update, only to be let down when I saw that HealthKit integration wasn't included in the update.  Get on it!

Sorry for my english;

If there IS ANYONE with a brain at Fitbit;

only and I mean it ONLY DEEP integration along with NEW devices with heart rate monitors , gps etc. can prevent you loosing ground! The more info you sync to Healthkit the less different apps and devices cusomers would need!! NOT integrating with Health and lack of communication would cause you customer exodus!

FitBit really need HealthKit integration.  The iOS app is not great, and certainly no Jawnone or MFP.  Get the data into HealthKit and allow it to be shared with other apps.

I haven't seen anything written that the Peak will integrate with healthkit.

I love fitbit and it would be a shame to not see it integrate into HealthKit. It'll help to integrate its data with my other health apps. Not supporting it keeps the data just in the app and makes it less accessible. Nothing bad can come out of it for the end user; only positives.

Well that's not any better than fitbit's response.

Imagine my excitement when I saw that there was (finally) an update available for my Fitbit app. I really don't get how this app hasn't been integrated with HealthKit yet. I'm a longtime Fitbit user and this seems like a slap in the face and it's causing me to seriously consider opting for another band. I'll give it one more week.

I just got this reply from fitbit.

"Thanks for your question. We don't have immediate plans to integrate with HealthKit. We'll watch HealthKit closely as it matures and look for opportunities to improve the Fitbit experience. In the meantime we'd like to hear more from you about what you'd like to see in a HealthKit and Fitbit integration. Please share your ideas in our community at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Requests/Integrate-with-iOS-8-Health-App/idi-p/319432."

i am am returning my 3 day old fitbit tomorrow!
