Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Choosing not to integrate is foolish and just alienates a large portion of your iPhone users.
What benefits is there for Fitbit *not* to integrate with iOS HealthKit?

Just signed up to let you know I'm in the market for a fitness band and you'll be losing a customer if you don't integrate with HealthKit. And I guarantee I'm not the only one. This is how companies die.

I expect from a larger company a close cooperation with Apples HealthKit..... go for it 🙂

Integrate. Fitbit will become irrelevant without integration. Integration will allow accurate info to go into HealthKit. It is also has a number of advantages over I watch. So this shouldn't eliminate the market for Fitbit. The delay has already had me investigating other options. I'm disappointed there seems to be a debate at all.

I have been very disappointed with FitBit Flex and it's battery issues and have reverted to using my old FitBit One. The lack of integration with the iOS 8.02 Health App could be the final nail in the coffin for my relationship with FitBit. Unhappy already with the service I get, if they now don't listen to the clamour for integration, why should I stay loyal? Plenty of other activity bands out there.

Taken together, most users here see future health kit integration as essential. I have to admit that I am also tempted to switch over to some other fitness device. That is because to me seamless integration into iOS8 actually is a big selling point and with former experience with Fitbit's Force "desaster" - which I think is not just the skin irritation problem, but also the announced update for message notifications that was never delievered, I am tempted to switch to another fitness band.

I was looking at some of the suggestions that have advanced from moderated to considered. Many of them have less than 10 votes. Isn't about time this moves up?

Please also count me on the list of wanting fitbit integration with the Health app. I'd really love to have all of my weight data available from the Aria.

Vote:  Integrate with iOS Health App

Just a bit stunned this was not available on day 1 of iOS 8.

Please add support to link data collected by Fitbit devices (Flex and Aria) into iOS 8 Health. It would greatly improve my willingness to stay with Fitbit products and improve the app experience. Thank you.

I want my fitbit steps in healthkit - a central repositry for all my health data.

Your iphone can count your steps like a fitbit - but I don't want to 'wear' my phone in most workout situations.

I guess fitbit may become obsolete if it does not integrate with iOS 8 healthkit, much like what happened to kodak who did not predict the rapid rise of digital cameras.

A replacement for fitbit force...or an iWatch that measures your heartrate etc.....?

Hurry up fitbit, listen to your customers or lose them.

You want to hear what I want to access via HealthKit? I'd like to see my steps. I'd like to see my sleep as I do nap daily, as well as sleep at night (fatigue issue). I'd like to see my weight and body fat percentage from my Aria scale.

Sleep

Body fat percentage from Aria scale

As has already been mentioned: integrate, and soon, or I will buy something else.

Very poor form fitbit. the arrogance you have displayed by ignoring what YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS have requested and your competitors have already done is insane.

Change your attitude or you will loose a lot of customers.

Wow, I can not believe Fitbit is doing this. I bought them instead of withings a year ago because they had a better price and also better looking scale. Now I feel I made the worst mistake ever. Withings instantly incorporated Healthkit. The only way i'm getting fitbit weight to Healthkit is via Myfitnesspal but thats also missing other data like fat and LBM.

I'm not going to sell y fitbit Aria, I'm going to smash it for mankinds freedom.

Withings exepect me as your new customer come payday.

I am disappointed to read that Fitbit has choosen not to integrate with the new ios 8 Healthkit.  Fitbit's ease of use with many apps is one of the reasons I have remained a Fitbit user.  I guess it is time to start looking for another fitness devices that is ready to move forward with technology and apps.

Something just doesn't sit right with this whole situation. Integrating with HealthKit should be a no-brainer, and there's no reason why FitBit hasn't done this already. I would be very careful with investing in more equipment from this company until we learn what's behind this very strange decision.

This integration needs to happen, otherwise I am looking at a different fitness tracker.

That is not a threat, that is just a simple truth, I want my data in HealthKit, because most of my other apps ARE integrating with it. Having my step tracking/weight/sleep/nutrition from Fitbit not Sync is kinda glaring, and something that can be remedied two ways:

1. Fitbit adds support for Healthkit

2. I get a different tracker from a company that does integrate.

"It is an interesting new platform and we will watch as it matures, looking for opportunities to improve the Fitbit experience. At the moment, we’re working on other exciting projects that we think will be valuable to users. The question we want you to keep in mind when providing feedback is: What do you imagine a HealthKit integration would entail and what do you expect to get out of it?"

yes it is an interesting platform... As to what I want to get out of it? Really ??? I have to justify myself to you? Prove that this new platform is worth your time? How the heck is this my job?? You are the ones trying to sell ME product!!! Me... The Consumer... You know the dumb fools that shell our hard earned money so you can stay in business...

Now because the converse of my refusal is... Oh, another Apple sheep... I want my data in one place and yes I know that there are steps to get there... My healthcare provider is already onboard via MyChart.... I want to be able to see/share both my medical and health data in one place... I want my Doctors results in the same app with my personal efforts to be healthy... Why because it will help me tailor my efforts to be healthy while reviewing my entire universe of data... There, HAPPY?

Completely ridiculous.  All of your competitors are ahead of you.  I left Jawbone UP to join FitBit.  Guess it's time to go back to them.

Given that the FitBit is sold in the Apple Store no one could be forgiven for thinking that inegration with the health app would be a forgon conclusion, but sadly that seems not to be the case.

from FitBit ""It is an interesting new platform and we will watch as it matures, looking for opportunities to improve the Fitbit experience. Translation - "Its work, we see no profit in it for us. At the moment we could'nt give a **** about what you want. We think you dont know what you want. Good by and **** you!"

If there is no plans for integration, there is a good chance I will be selling my current fitbit and moving to other options. I think over 29 pages of feedback requesting on a single post should be enough to encourage healthkit integration.

If the new Jaybird Reign integrates with HealthKit and Fitbit continues on this path,  I'll be giving my 6-month old Fitbit to my sister-in-law & moving on to the Reign. I got my first Fitbit in 2011, and it would be a shame if the one I purchased this summer has to be my last because of this attitude towards integration.
