Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Used my fitbit for years, my iphone for years longer than that.  Iphone does many things and I will be using healthkit.  It will be integrated with my doctor's electronic health record. Fitbit does one segment of that spectrum.  Many competitors do the same thing.  Fitbit hear this - no healthkit integration and I will move on to a competitor.  Once I am gone, I will never come back.  I like the product, but you apparently have some kind of issue with apple.  Sorry, but that is a battle you will lose.  It will probably take me a few weeks to decide what new product to select.  That is how long you have to change your mind and keep my wife and I as customers.

What you posted was far more than a single comment or vote. And I see you had your post handed back to yo on a silver platter. LMAO

After all this time and all the numerous positive votes to integrate with HealthKit, I have to wonder just what it will take to do so. Fitbit had said they wanted to hear what we users thought, and you have about 60 pages of comments....more than enough to get off that "thinking about it and watching what happens" line. Isn't it time that we get an official reply as to what they are going to finally decide to do? Just about ever othe fitness app has already done so an it appears that Fitbit is the lone holdout for Microsoft Vault. No reason that they can't or won't intergrate with HealthKit. We all would want this and we still wait for official word while Fitbit continues unendedly looking into deciding what to do. You have heard lots from us an yet we still hear nothing of your plans. This is really starting to tarnish your/our brand that we love. You are pushing people away and we still get no comment. This is just rude.

It´s strange that Fitbit doesnt integrate with Health App.

Is there a reason for this? Maybe is for not losing their data, maybe is for not loosing their position in the market, but really, As I'm reading this forum the apparent reason is for pissing some of their customers.

I've had a Fitbit for a few years now and love the data it gives me.  What I really need is integration of data from mutiple devices and sources as this is the way forward wrt preventative personal healthcare. This isn't a debate about which platform the user should use, that's the user's decision.  Without integration with Apple Health you are blocking out one platform and therefore you're disenfranchising a sizeable portion of your user base.  Using your logic shouldn't you be looking to integrate with all of the major platforms?  Sadly, without integration with Apple Health I'll be forced to move on as the greater opportunity of preventative healthcare will drive this for me.

Thx for nothing Fitbit. As a user for over 3,5 years, I´m now converting to Jawbone UP next week. The lack of understanding why we, the users and reason for your existence, want this kind of integration, is astounding.

The fact that I will loose all my years of data, and the use of my scale do not counter the fact that this product now is useless for me.

My fitness pal now sends my aria weight to HealthKit from my fitbit data... From the 10th on. Let's hope they will send the other data that they get over as well

Wristband Manager now supports Fitbit to Health syncing but only some of the data at the moment.

makes sense to link in to the Apple Health app, its the way forward I think. Please make it happen

@8a22a what data does it currently sync? That could be a good workaround for me right now.

It syncs steps, distance, weight, and active calories according to their information. Wristband Manager - Fitbit & Jawbone UP companion and sync to HealthKit by Sunny Studio https://appsto.re/us/AGHfS.i

My fitbit is broken and I'm currently in the market for a new device. Would love to go for the upcoming Fitbit Charge HR as heart rate would be a key metric. However lack of healthkit integration is a dealbreaker and if I don't get any positive signs from fitbit soon I'll seriously consider the Jawbone options... c'mon Fitbit, pls explain why you can't be bothered to deliver a feature a large majority of your (current) customers want... it's not about forcing us to do something we don't want, it's about giving us the CHOICE to share OUR data the way we want... PLEASE!

@8a22a @Mikey1234 @Bluejay thank you! Just downloaded it. It's a shame that Fitbit doesn't seem interested in doing this itself, but at least my 2 dollars are going to someone who's actually gonna help provide me with access to my health data. The Wristband Manager app interface itself seems really glitchy (can't scroll to view past data in the graph without it disappearing), but it's syncing well with HealthKit and that's all I'm really concerned with right now.

By Fitbit’s own statement, “we’ve been the leader,” I note the past tense. Those who rest on their laurels crush them. If you hope to maintain this leadership position, I would think that you would serve your customers in the manner they wish to be served. Your statement “as more of its features and benefits are revealed” is revealing in itself because it is up to your USERS to evaluate which platform they wish to use, not for you to decide – that is, if you are interested in providing your customers with what they want.

I have very much liked my Fitbit, but if I am unable to integrate with the new Healthkit, I will replace it with a brand that is more forward-thinking and responsive to its customers.

@icmarston I contacted the app developers this morning about adding % body fat. The already responded via email. So write to them, unlike fitbit they are hungry and are willing to give the customer what they want.

@Bluejay thanks, I'll do that!

I'm too upset with fitbit to ever use their products again.  I've already replaced mine, and threw my fitbit one in the garbage can.

@zapleahy & @RickyFitbit,

How many of your users have just left without telling you? The lack of communication from the top has resulted in sentiments like @Mikey1234.

Fitbit is heading to toward the rocks, it might be too late to reverse course. Do they want to throw it all away?

Think about it. Your customers are willing to pay for an app that puts our fitbit data into Health Kit. The longer you stay silent, the fewer people will be around to listen and see what you do with this. Wait too long, we will be off using our new trackers.

The minute I have a glucometer that works with health kit, I'm out of here.

Think about this story.

I preordered my first fitbit in Febuary of 2010. I clipped it to my waited on 5/18/2010. Since then I upgraded from my original (Classic) to a One. I've loved my fitbit. My sisten-in-law taught me how to take it swimming (put the One in water ballon and then into the clip). It has been a constant companion and I've been telling friends and family how much I like it. But these days I'm reading the reviews of other devices, I'm looking at kickstarter campaigns for other devices. I'm making a wish list of what my next tracker will have.

2. Waterproof so I can wear it in a pool.

3. Able to wear it on wrist, waist, body, necklace, and ankle. I suspect that ankle is the best location for activity tracking.

4. Heart Rate, maybe, after all I have a Scosche Rhythem.

5. Glucose, no one hase all the above with Glucose yet. I know Apple has patents for glucose readings, and maybe that will be in a future Watch, I'll wait and see.

#1 on my list Health Kit integration. If it does not have that it, the device is not even considered.

So will fitbit be in the the rest of my story?

They don't care if we leave. 60 pages and 1000+ posts is proportionately low number in the universe of their customers. If we feel disrespected or somehow dissatisfied, we should just leave. No point in commenting or voting, just making a fool of ourselves.

The more I read from the official FitBit reps, the more clearly I realise it's time for me to jump ship.

Intergration should have been planned as a no-brainer the moment HealthKit was announced. A new app with t should already be out. Instead, they are still umming and erring as to whether and how to integrate.

I stopped using ComiXology when the ditched in-app purchases. I just switched from Raptr to Exophase  as the latter was abandoning console gaming to concentrate on PCs.

will drop FitBit for an alternative as soon as I see something in the price range.

I choose and use technology based on my vision on how to use it. You've had a week to announce a new direction. You haven't, so it time for me to choose one instead.

Yes by all means, we want to see fitbit integrated with apple's health app. Why the hell not? Also, we need a new force with pretty colored band. The flex just didn't do it for me. Thx

I will be moving to a different device since Fitbit refuses to connect to Health kit
