Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Please add HealthKit soon. It's one of the things I'm waiting on to buy a Fitbit to use.

How very disappointing.   The wife and I have had Fitbit products for many years and have been happy supporters of the brand.  But my wife went out today and bought herself a new Garmin step tracker.  She waited patiently for Fitbit to integrate with her iPhone Health App.  They don't seem interested in what she wants so, as dictated in the big mean world of capitalism, she went out and found a company that did give her what she wanted and bought their product.  And it works flawlessly. With this stubborn stance that Fitbit has taken with regard to connectivity to the IOS Health App, I am not far behind.  Oh and the new Aria Scale we were going to buy --- forget it.

I look at the responses here --- 2100 customers pleading for support, only to have this company slap them in the face by adding support for Microsoft and Google products but not Apple.  Really!!!!  And not one word from Fitbit's manamgement team, or its development team, or its customer service tream.  Fitbit's reluctance to give its customers what they want reminds me of two other companies that once upon a time ruled their market space; Palm and Rim (Blackberry).  They too felt they were unstoppable and disregarded their customers wants, they too thought that they were too big to fail.   Most of the readers of this don’t even remember Palm, and when was the last time anyone happily announced that they were going to go out and get the latest Blackberry?  Soon my Fitbit will join my Palm Pilot and my Blackberry in that box in the back of the closet.  .

Too bad.  Fitbit was once a great company.  A true leader in its field.

Hey everyone, Sync Solver created a group for those here who have used the app to sync their Fitbit data into Apple Health. Check it out for discussions and special challenges: https://www.fitbit.com/group/22MF3H

I got a 404.

I really hope we here some official news soon. Instead of being "thanked" for nonexistent patience.

Hi - I, too, would really like FitBit to integrate with iOS8's Health. The Health app is a good way to aggregate data from a variety of more specific dedicated apps such as FitBit. Thanks

I recommend all of you do as my friends are doing - those who received Fitbits as gifts - return them. Don't settle, and don't wait for Fitbit to figure themselves out.

Please intergrate with apple health app.  I don't see why the problem.  I really like using fitbit, but i will go to another tracker like misfit shine or something that does intergrate with apple health kit.

I wish you guys would make the app compatible with ihealth. I know and "understand" why you haven't. I don't think having the app sync data with ihealth for us, has anything to do with competition or lack there of with apples proposed fitness watch. It, and the way that you are rumored to be releasing, are way out of mine and most peoples budgets anyway. I did go out and buy another tracker for the simple reason of being able to use it with the ihealth app. But it was horrible and inaccurate. I love my fitbit, and i want to keep using it. But I also really want it to sync with the help app. Its the main portion of my health/fitness data.

and yet, less than half of those have actually voted for this feature (at top left of this thread).

This needs to happen asap!! Got my Fitbit for Christmas and seems only right that it fully syncs with my iPhone

@ChrisCA Some people post once, some most multiple times, so the 2,110 comments have not been posted by 2,110 different people. Even so fitbit is doing nothing for the most voted for feature and their excuses have been proven false.

Yes, I know.

My point is people will post in this thread yet not click on the Vote button.

and their excuses have been proven false

What excuses? That they are still evaluating it? So they are not evaluating it? Where was it proven they are not?

They aren't going to integrate. I don't know why people continue to vote and beg them to do so. Just go out and buy another device that does support apple health. They are not that expensive. Vote with your wallet!!

The parity excuse, not wanting to do things that they can't offer to users on other platforms. The offer windows phone user cortana integration, for example.

And also if people viewing this on the mobile site they can't vote, the will have to access the desktop site.

I was able to vote using my iPhone.

I voted from my iPhone, after I told safari to load the desktop site. On the mobile site you don't even see anything about voting unless you look real hard. It should not be a bloody Easter egg hunt on the mobile site.

How about some parity, fitbit?

The issue of Fitbit being able to sync with the iOS Healthkit is simple:  I've been a long-time user of (multiple) Fitbit products, and value them.  But for a much longer time, I've been a believer that products should not create "closed" architectures.  At the extreme end, where would the internet be without being interconnected to the rest of the world???

So my decision is simple---  although not my first choice, as soon as the iWatch is available, I will buy it and no longer support Fitbit.

I also have a long-term prediction:  5 years from now, either 1) Fitbit will have decided to support directly syncing with Healthkit (and other health aggregation apps), and will remain a force, or 2) Fitbit will be a shell of itself, and in all likelihood, most people will not remember the company (just another example of failed technology companies repeating history since the 1970s, drinking their kool-aid while thinking they're too good to fail).

I'd really like FitBit to integrate with iOS's Health Kit to enable two-way information sharing with other apps and devices (like blood pressure / pulse / etc).

I too would love to see Health & Fitbit be integrated. Currently while wearing my Fitbit Charge & running Health, there seems to be about a 2000 step difference, with Fitbit registering the lesser of the two & it's been on me the entire time.

Hi, I've been using the Fitbit Bluetooth and I love it. I reiterate what other commenters have strongly encouraged; please consider integrating with Apple's Health App. It has a lot to offer. Thanks!

Pleaseeeeeeeeee. This is so frustrating. I would hate to spend another $100 on another product when I enjoy most of what FitBit has to offer. Another competitor should offer to pay/discount for FitBit users to make the switch. Mail in their FitBit and get another type. I would do it.
