Integration between Fitbit and a pregnancy app

It would be great if FitBit integrated with a pregnancy app. To track healthy weight gain, appropriate macros during pregnancy, a heart rate alert for high heart rates, water consumption recommendations, and major health related stages of the pregnancy.

Currently the weight gain has a negative connotation, there is not a function for additional calories, and heart rate elevation in pregnant women can seriously injure the fetus's development. That feature could benefit women who are able to exercise during pregnancy in a safer heart rate window.

I just recently found out I was pregnant and have been tracking my weight. I expect to gain weight but given the current settings in the app, I am surprised that there is no place to add the notation of pregnant. If we can track our periods, how can we not track our pregnancy. For a company focused on fitness and health, I would think this is a no-brainer.

As far as I know, there hasn't been. Which stinks because it would be nice
to have!

Yes!  Why track menstruation for fertility when I can't then enter that I'm pregnant?

I am really disappointed in Fitbit that this even needs to be a conversation. Per the moderator above...".Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. We look forward to hearing what other community members think." This is a no-brainer. Why have to see what the community thinks, why not just do it. Make the integration. Get ahead of the request of its members and take a proactive step to better the app for their community. I typically do not participate in these comment boards and I would believe a big population of customers that use the app typically do not either therefore, it could be months before a decision to proceed or not is made. As a health and fitness company, focus on the health and fitness of your members without members having to tell you or ask you to do it.

It would great to have this add on now. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my second. I have a feeling after this pregnancy they will end up having this feature and it will then not be useful to me. But I’ll be happy someone else can use it. Please hurry and make this available

I’m glad that we are able to use our trackers to help us know more about our health. For women we now have the period tracker. Which is not perfect, but I know Fitbit is working on making it better. I would just love to see another side to the period tracker. A pregnancy feature that allows pregnant women to see that their heart rate is at a healthy rate or where the period prediction is turned off and tells you how many months you are and how long you have left. A nice blend of “The Bump” app and Fitbit. Obviously talking to a health care provider is the best option to know that your health is good, but to be able to watch it on our Fitbit devices would be so great. Thank you! 😁

Hi @ccleivas, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here.

Yes, please add this! I have been disappointed with the lack of thought about anything pregnancy related on the device and app.

I completely agree with you - it would be fantastic if this could be added into the women’s health app already built in, or allowing bump or some of the other pregnancy apps to sync. Pregnancy goals with fitbits would have a bit of a different emphasis, like the comments mention, to track fluid intake, excercise, heart rate (as it normally is increased during pregnancy), dietary needs, etc. Would be great to have a drop down that noted even the smallest bit of information like weeks pregnant, etc.

It would be great addition to app. I'm 5 month pregnant and I can't do anything with the female health part of the app. So it just lives a life of it's own at the moment. I can't delete periods, my heart rate is higher than it normally would be, so I am pretty sure it calculate's my calories wrong, I have gained weight etc. Really needed feature!

I strongly agree that there should be a pregnancy setting, as I myself am frustrated with it at the moment during my pregnancy. However if it is brought back, I think it needs to be improved to adjust measurements that are medically different in pregnancy such as a higher resting bpm due to increased blood flow, temperature, sleep needs, exercise restrictions etc. Not to mention obviously weight and measurements increasing! My fitbit seems to think that I'm very unhealthy because of my resting bpm which is actually a normal rate in pregnancy. I haven't entered in my weight because I'm putting it on and not losing.

I just think that some more medical considerations need to be applied to the functionality of a pregnancy setting if it were to be brought back.

Please do, because it would improve the experience of so many women trying to stay healthy during pregnancy which can be very difficult to do!!

Kinda sucks you aren’t getting this. Pregnant now would have been nice to use

I honestly don’t understand how this can’t be an action. Surely a good chunk of the demographic would find this useful regardless of how many votes a post gets in the forum. I very rarely take part in things like this and I’m sure there are many women with Fitbit’s that would like this function that don’t take part too.

What a disappointment in a fitness company. Id love to get rid of the app now and move on. Our scale is connected which is the only reason I would continue to use it, but they clearly do not believe in healthy body and mind when one is pregnant. I am currently pregnant as well and as I continue to gain healthy weight, it does not appear so on the app, it just appears as though I am gaining weight.

I thought theyd be more progressive, more proactive...this shouldn't even been up for discussion, should be a give-in. So weird that a company does not put their members first.

I think this is a great idea and many pregnant women would love this app. It would also be great if it had a history of prior pregnancies so you can see how the current pregnancy is going vs the one or ones in the past

I fully agree with ShelbyJ87 above. Having a pregnancy setting is very important as HR, wt gain, calorie burn/requirements are quite different. Well stated, Shelby!

Women’s health requirements change during and after pregnancy. Some options information regarding activity levels & food intake during these times would be helpful

Thanks Fitbit app for reminding me I am getting my period this week....but yet I am 20 weeks pregnant. Guess I forgot to turn the notifications off, yet this is the first one i have received since becoming pregnant. Wish I could log my pregnancy.

I have appreciated the ability to track periods and fertility with the female health tracker. Now that I am pregnant there does not seem to be a way to tell my Fitbit. It seems that this would be an awesome feature to include and would be very valuable to pregnant women.

Hi @Joyfullysheri! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Just seconding the motion to add a “pregnant” and/or “miscarriage” option. The app thinks I’m in my cycle, buuuuuuuut I’m not. 😁 Would like it to at least adjust for pregnancy. Other options would be cool too, but I’ll probably track everything in the “I’m Expecting” app again.
