That’s an interesting idea and could be useful to link the groups from the app with the groups from Fitbit.com. Thanks for sharing this suggestion.

That would be awesome. What is the difference from the fitbit.com app to the app groups?

Uselessly upvoted but did it anyway.

HOW are you suggesting linking the website group with the app group?  I find no options to do this.

It would just be nice to see any custom groups you're apart of on the mobile app. I think that's the point.

It doesn't exactly make sense that this isn't already a feature available through the app. It's inconvenient to have to login to the website every time you want to access the custom groups you're apart of. It makes even less sense when another suggested feature on here says that this feature was released when it...clearly wasn't?

I don't understand why this wasn't originally made a part of the app and even needs to be suggested. Seems like a big duh to me.

The users have, in very clear terms, been asking for custom groups created on the fitbit.com website to be made available on the app. It seems senseless to have created two separate databases for the website and app. Looking at the forum posts and requests, people have been wanting this crossover feature for years and it logically seems like something that should have been present when the app launched.

The Fitbit team marked the "Add Custom Groups to Mobile App" topic as Released (and other moderators doubled down on the assessment), when the user had asked to be able to access their previously created groups on the app instead of the computer. Assuming that the issue is not stemming from ignorance (since moderators are intelligent) or misunderstanding (since it would be impossible to misunderstand hundreds of user comments), the only remaining option is that the programming team is deliberately choosing not to implement this feature, causing the moderators to have to blatantly and purposefully ignore the continued request.

I understand that, as moderators, you do not do the coding behind the scenes and that you get stuck facing the brunt of user disappointment on the programmers' behalf, but you have the direct channels of communication to be able to put heat under the developers to implement these requested features. You must certainly know that this feature is not Released, so please champion our cause and merge the custom group databases.

Activity groups can only be accessed through the website.  It would be great if they could be added to the app.  Thanks.

Hi @uvpb25, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is currently in "Reviewed by moderator" status.

A thread has been going on for ages and yet this update isn't available. Totally inefficient to maintain 2 sets of groups, how long does it take to merge the two and make both the App and Website work in sync?

losclrk:  the point of the thread is that we cannot do that with the current feature set.  I am asking Fitbit to program the link between the two platforms.  If you agree, please upvote the thread.

Thanks!

@ZacharyG  I have wondered at times of there's a translation problem, you know, lost in translation. A lot of companies are using moderators from countries where English is a second language. I don't know if Fitbit is doing that or not.

Otherwise, the moderators are being purposefully difficult about this particular issue. They keep directing people on similar threads to vote up a thread that is listed as implemented, even though it's not. And if you link to open threads like this, they remove your post as a cross post.

This along with the lack of ability to add friends to the group app from somewhere other than Fitbit friends Is ridiculous. Should have a URL. So u can invite by URL. You would think Fitbit makes enough money to higher some quality developers and make the social experience worthwhile. Hesitant to buy another FitBit.

This is a good idea. Why is it not a thing? Almost every app has a desktop version and they sync data constantly. Even the Fitbit app and Fitbit.com sync fitness data between them. Why not groups? Please make this happen.

...did you guys literally just delete web-based activity groups? You were so disinclined to merging the two databases that you wiped one without warning?

There is finally a tracking capability now on the app under community and under a group. That section started up the day the groups disappeared on the other format. At least there’s progress!

Please bring back web-based activity groups.  I don't see any progress on the app.

Hi @Hyperfire, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to link fitbit.com groups to custom groups on the Fitbit app. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Has there been any updates to groups on the app linking to groups online?
