Lock Touchscreen to Clockface

I'm finding over the course of the day and while sleeping my Surge's touchscreen becomes switched from the watch face to one of the other screens. It would be very helpful if there was an ability to hold down one of the physical buttons to lock the touchscreen on the watch face and repeat to unlock. This would prevent accidental navigation away from the watch face. Please consider adding this functionality in a future firmware update. Thank you.

Moderator Edit:

The latest Surge firmware update added a function which reverts Surge to its clock screen after 15 seconds. Some users would prefer to continuously view another data tile, such as Steps, Heart Rate, or Distance. This is no longer possible for more than 15 seconds outside of starting an Exercise log.

This existing Feature Request represents a good solution to the issue, and I encourage anyone who might be interested in this new feature to vote or comment in this thread.

Definitely need a lock feature when I am doing a kickboxing workout. My gloves push the buttons and or screen and I can constantly feeling it vibrating from my workout being paused, restarted, or even stopping it all together. Very frustrating because the other other way to log my workout is to create and "activity record" to find out how many calories I burned and then "log an activity" for it to actually show up as a recent exercise.

I've noticed lately that while I'm running or jogging the Fitbit Blaze tends to make contact with my clothes and because of what I presume is the sensitivity of the screen my workouts get paused and cancelled altogether sometimes. Now I just want to know if there a possibility in a future update of addidng a passcode to unlock the screen. Perhaps a pattern type lock or a four digit number. Either or really.

While I agree that this is a great idea, the reason the Blaze does not return to the clock face is because of the outcry on the Surge for returning to the clock face.  This option needs to be user selectable, not mandatory one way or the other.

Agreed. This needs to happen soon, trying to use this during kickboxing sessions is a nightmare. My gloves cover the screen and just constantly pause the workout. Even happens if I am not wearing gloves and my compression top covers the screen.

I AGREE!!!

This happens to me during kickboxing, it is EXTREMELY frustrating!! I"ve only had my blaze for about a week and I am seriously thinking about returning it. I tried using the auto track and it only recorded half of my 60 min workout.

Literally got a blaze two day ago and took it out biking today.  Aim was to compare it against my garmin edge.

To say it failed miserably is an understatement and this is seems to be the exact issue and solution.

I can only figure my water proof jacket is hitting the touch screen ot im managing to hit the buttons (which is easily possible considering how you ride a bike).

All in all it stopped three times without me noticing and missed a good number of chunks of the ride.

Really frustrating although I imagine I'll leave it at home now when riding, but that kinda defeats the point of this kind of device.

+1 for a locking mechanism which needs both left and one of the right buttons pressed to unlock.

I tried it one more time for a kickboxing session last Saturday.  Utterly useless - I started "kickboxing" as my workout, and as soon as we started punching I felt it buzzing and buzzing under my glove.  When the workout was over it had logged only the first couple of minutes and was asking me if I wanted to start a FitStar workout.

I really don't want to return the Blaze and switch back to the Surge.  PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP, fitbit!!

I upgraded from Charge HR to the Blaze and I am so disappointed as it doesn't seem to track my full 45 minutes kickboxing class and constantly buzzes to either pause or end the workout.  Very frustrating as never had a problem with the Charge HR.  I would have thought there would have been a lock feature and was surprised that there wasn't, esp. since its a touch screen.  I am considering returning it and getting an iwatch as it has a lock feature.  I don't want to go back to the charge HR as I consider this being an upgrade.  I hope there's consideration in developing a feature to lock the screen before I end up returning it...:(

My workouts have been pausing when I run with long sleeves. It's very frustrating that I can't accurately track when wearing long sleeves. This is supposed to be a premium tracker and it doesn't even work when I wear long sleeves. I think I'm gonna return it. I'm very disappointed

Please, Please, Please send out an update to lock the screen on the Blaze!!! It's embrassing in my indoor cycling class when all the lights are out and my Fitbit light turns on if I hit my hand wrong (yes, I have quick view off BUT it still lights up!!) If we could get a 'lock screen' option it would most definitely help and the watch would be perfect!

I have the Blaze and while boxing, I set the Exercise mode, and push start. The problem with boxing is, the buttons are either being bumped by our wrist wraps, or the face is bumped by our glove.

Could you create a software feature that allows one to 'lock' the activity mode so the buttons and face are functionless, until let's say you push the left button and a right button and hold for 10 seconds. Another war is to use your phone app to lock it an activity mode.

I created a 'sports band' that attaches to the Blaze body and I can tighten it at my bicept, but creating a lock feature would be great!

I concur about the lock screen addition. I created a sports band that attaches to the Blaze and can be adjusted to fit around my bicep. It is a temp solution to a major sorter flaw.

Same issue as everyone above.. during workout glove  hits the buttons or activates the touch screen prematurely ending the work out.

I am so glad others have requested this feature.  This happens to me ALL THE TIME and is so frustrating.......I would love to have the ability to lock the touchscreen!

Fitbit, where are we on this?  It's been nearly 3 months since this was first brought up.  It makes tracking an excercise in anything other than a short sleeve shirt impossible to count on.

This is definitely an issue while kickboxing. As soon as you have the gloves on and make movement they touch the screen and constantly pausing and starting the workout and all you feel is the vibration the entire time. I've paid to much for this product for me not to be able to use it for my workout of choice. The suggestion is great or make it where you have to hit one of the side buttons to lock it (like you do for your cell phone) and to unlock it you have to hit that button again. I would think a simple update would fix this issue. Support really needs to make this a priority!!!!!

+1 that a lock screen has to be implemented. Took my Blaze out for its first run, and my 8k jog was only logged for 3 minutes, when the device decided to end my workout.
Seriously considering returning the Blaze as this issue was originally logged over 2 months ago, and no official acknowledgment from Fitbit, giving me little confidence that it will ever be fixed. Which pretty much renders the blaze useles.

Please, please do this asap.  Otherwise I'll have to return my Blaze.  It's completely useless if it doesn't have the ability to track my kickboxing.

Please add this feature.  My workout constantly pauses or finish's when i am wearing boxing gloves and renders the tracker and its info useless!!

I'm unfortunately past the refund period so I'm stuck with an expensive device that doesn't do what I need it to do. Very disappointed, I hope they fix this issue ASAP.

I am unable to return as well.  I decided to keep mine thinking they would provide an update by now.
