Longer Screen Time for Charge Trackers

I purchased my charge 3 after seeing it would have a Screen Time out Option.  It shipped without one.  Moderator Kate says it’s not available at this time.  The manual is now being changed to reflect that.

I really, really want/need that option.  It was the reason I chose the Charge.  That and my 50’s year old eyes.  The current screen only stays on for 3-4 seconds.  That is a very short amount of time.  I have to repeated tap the screen to read a text that comes in.  IF we are going to have the ability to get notifications, we need the ability to read them.

Please Fitbit, give us the option that was originally in the manual to change the screen time out.  The Versa has it, so I know it can be done.

It's 2019 and still nothing. Everyone is asking for a longer screen time. Is it that hard to add that feature in. Please give us a update if you can do it or not if you even see this. (Not mad just want answer)

Just wanted to add my voice to the rest--it would be great to see options for screen timeout duration for the Charge 3. The current and only setting seems mighty short to me, and I was surprised that it doesn't already have an option to adjust it. Let's do this, Fitbit!! Please!!!

Would be great if the screen stay on and not turn off when you are looking at it and turn off when you put your arm down like default.

For now it would be a miracle !! Fitbit is not responding at all ! “Under consideration” is not responding but holding us of !Customer service is a disgrace ! Many people have complaind and asked for a long time for more screen time and better brightness and no usefull respons what so ever !

This would be very useful. My mom has an old Fitbit Zip, and she was debating getting a Charge or even using my old Charge 2 when I upgraded to the Charge 3 last year, but the screen timeout is far too short for her - she's a doctor and needs an analogy watchface so she can count the seconds when taking blood pressure. Charge 3 finally has analog watch faces... but still super short screen timeout. Because of this ONE missing feature.... she is considering going with a Garmin smart watch instead. I saw a ton of RNs commenting about this earlier this the thread... clearly this is a much-needed feature!

Fitbit, do you have any plans to listen to people on about this timeout problem? If it's not going to be updated I'll be sending mine back pronto, it's useless!

I believe that the Charge 3 is what it is and WILL NOT be operationally modified by Fitbit. I am stuck with mine but will never purchase another Fitbit product!

I would have to agree with you, Pressing On.  Someone made a decision to make the Charge 3 a dud by removing the screen time adjustment, and now no one wants to own up to it.  They make this forum, but ignore the people on it.  They tell us to just wait, and that's all we've been doing.  No useful information coming from fitbit or their moderators, just the same inane crap.  I wanted to salvage at least some of my investment in this device, but the seem to be intent of robbing me of that chance.  I'll have to consider it a sunk cost and a very expensive lesson learned!

Maybe we should all try and find some time to get on as many review websites as we can and tell people of its faults. Maybe then Fitbit will see that if they don't fix it they will lose lots of business.

HI.

1- I bought a Fitbit Charge 3 and I would like to know if it is possible to increase the display time of the data on the screen, because the time the display is lit is very short ...

2-why they do not offer in Portuguese language?

thx

I don't know how many requests for a longer or permanent screen time feature you need to see on this forum before you'll send out an upgrade. I will now have to return my Fitbit and get either a Garmin or Galaxy smartwatch.  I too, like many others on this forum, am in the medical field and rely on a second hand to either count respirations or pulse rate. I need a screen that stays visible for at least a minute if not permanently.

I’m pretty disappointed in the short screen timeout. Not much good for me as a first responder and annoying at the gym. I’d settle for charging my Fitbit more often if I could get an adjustable screen timeout. I’m happy with the data on my app but the Charge 3 is more like a useless bracelet on my wrist than a usable tool. My Charge 3 was a gift or I’d likely return it.

I want to know if you are coming up with an update to increase screentime or not.  Please answer realistically.  If you are not I will return our 2 fitbit Charge 3's as with such a short screen time they are useless to us.  Please advise now.  Thank you.

@LuciaFitbit does anyone from Fitbit even look at these?  This has been requested since October with no response from FitBit.  Mine was a gift as many others were, otherwise, it wouldn’t gone back.

Wish there was away to extend the amount of time that a feature shows on the fitbit Charge 3 screen face.  This includes the clock especially.

Longer screen time is essential! Just bought a charge 3 and considering returning it and getting a garmin that has this feature

Incredibly disappointed. Most suppliers respond asap to help resolve a purchasing issue. Good or bad. Stonewalling doesn’t help and simply makes the UX even worse. We bought two Charge 3 for each other at Xmas, and are gutted to have wasted so much money.

I have been a Fitbit user since they first operation and only had one product..a small clip-on unit.  At that time their customer service was terrific.  They sent me a new clip for the unit when mine broke---no charge.  When I lost the unit, I asked if I could just buy a new unit without the charging stand, which I still had.  They replied by sending a whole new Fitbit at no charge.
I can't say the same thing now.  My unit would no longer sync to the dashboard.  When I asked why, all I got was "we no longer support that product".  That necessitated buying a new Fitbit, the Charge 3, which gave every indication of adjustable screen on time.
I am extremely disappointed at the lack of response from Fitbit on issues and especially not adjusting the software for this issue.

Right.  I find the at this company to be screaming every day "we sell to millions and we really can't care about a customer concern that won't impact our bottom line, but please post on if it makes you feel better... "

Then do what one other user on here suggested: Everywhere you see their product, post a bad review outlining the problem with the product and the lack of response from fitbit.  Start affecting their bottom line and maybe, just maybe, they will do something.
