Longer Screen Time for Charge Trackers

I purchased my charge 3 after seeing it would have a Screen Time out Option.  It shipped without one.  Moderator Kate says it’s not available at this time.  The manual is now being changed to reflect that.

I really, really want/need that option.  It was the reason I chose the Charge.  That and my 50’s year old eyes.  The current screen only stays on for 3-4 seconds.  That is a very short amount of time.  I have to repeated tap the screen to read a text that comes in.  IF we are going to have the ability to get notifications, we need the ability to read them.

Please Fitbit, give us the option that was originally in the manual to change the screen time out.  The Versa has it, so I know it can be done.

100% Agree and hope that there can be an update fix for this! I just bought my FitBit and have spent the past 24 hours trying to find the setting to increase the display time! I am a first aid attendant and need the display to stay on for at least 10 seconds, preferably a bit longer.

We've been at this for months.  Fitbit doesn't respond and, in my experience with this and other issues,  they seem to think problems with their products deserve lip-service at best, otherwise, the problems should be owned by their customers.    They have your money.

Hi. It's my Birthday today and my husband has given me a Charge 3. I really wanted an Apple watch, but he had already bought this and the longer battery time persuaded me to stay with it. I like it, it is very comfortable, but I am disappointed that I can't increase the screen display time. It is way too short! I, like many others who have commented, NEED a longer display as I have to count heart rates on animals - animals who are often very wriggly and so it takes time to get them to stay still enough for me to be able to count their heart rate. 5 SECONDS IS NOT LONG ENOUGH!!! We need the option to select longer screen displays, up to at least 60 seconds as a minimum. Please, please Fitbit, sort this out! otherwise I might just be turning to Apple...

why is fitbit so slow to implement fixes and requests? do they not care about their customers once the product is sold? they really need to fix this otherwise none of their existing customers are going to come back to fitbit. they are losing customers on a daily basis with this attitude...

I agree tbe Fitbit Charge 3 needs a Timeout option as a feature so you can control how long the screen stays on.

I replyd to a post and fit bit send me a message that they removed my reply !

They have time to remove my comments but not to answer properly to the complains ? So the only thing they can do now is to remove them ?? This is realy realy bad costumer service !  Its a shame that a company like fitbit treats there customers this way

It’s been under consideration for over 6 months. Charge 3 is junk and Fitbit company are a bunch of a@*holes that don’t give a sh@* about their customers. I may as well flushed $150 down the toilet.

I am supporting the idea to have a customizable screen timeout for Charge 3. The current timeout setting is very short. We barely see things in just only 3 seconds.

Dear Fitbit please add this to the features.

If you purchased your FitBit yourself, I suggest ‘reviewing’ it on that site & point out this flaw.  I just left a review on Amazon, but I received it as a gift, so not sure they will accept my review.  Maybe with enough bad reviews, FitBit will FINALLY take notice.

I strongly suggest that the option to increase the screen time be included in an update to software. I would not recommend this product, unless that update is made.

With poor eyesight the acquisition time is often increased, enabling you to just start reading it when it disappears. They obviously made the decision to reduce and fix the time to achieve the "7 day battery life" (speaking as an engineer). They could just stress in the manual that anything other than default will reduce battery life, we aren't idiots.  Although I feel like an idiot now for buying an expensive aid without paying very very close attention to specifications.

As many have already said--please make this a feature. 4 seconds is far, far too fast to properly read the screen. 10, 15, 20 second options would be ideal. Thanks.

Please add an option to change the screen timeout. It's current timeout setting is ruining an otherwise excellent device.

I'm seriously considering returning my FitBit. Seeing how the company has completely ignored its customers with this issue is disheartening. This is such an incredibly simple software fix, yet FitBit doesn't care that thousands of people want this.

If only we could contact someone of the staff personally. But I wouldn’t know how.

100% agree with previous comments. I could not believe it when I discovered this doesn't have a feature to be able to read the screen more than 5 sec without it turning off. It does make the product pretty useless especially while exercising. So disappointing, I wish I knew this when I purchased. I've persevered for a month and I guess now it's too late to return the product but I wish I could to buy something else and I certainly won't purchase fitbit again unless this is changed.

like many others I purchased this because of the continuous heart rate and I want to be able to see this during workouts, impossible to keep lifting your wrist during workout to see the heart rate (and to have time to have a decent look at any other stats, impossible to use stop watch or the clock as a clock and be able to time something like taking another person's pulse.

I understand the decision was made for battery life but I think you can see from hundreds of comments that people want to be free to make that choice themselves and just want it as an option. If it means recharging more often, daily even, happy to do it for a product that does the job you bought it for.

Having the ability to extend the screen timeout would be very useful. Currently, it's way too short. There is barely enough time to see the information displayed.
