Longer Screen Time for Charge Trackers

I purchased my charge 3 after seeing it would have a Screen Time out Option.  It shipped without one.  Moderator Kate says it’s not available at this time.  The manual is now being changed to reflect that.

I really, really want/need that option.  It was the reason I chose the Charge.  That and my 50’s year old eyes.  The current screen only stays on for 3-4 seconds.  That is a very short amount of time.  I have to repeated tap the screen to read a text that comes in.  IF we are going to have the ability to get notifications, we need the ability to read them.

Please Fitbit, give us the option that was originally in the manual to change the screen time out.  The Versa has it, so I know it can be done.

Just bought a Charge 3 today and thought the short screen time was a bug... Looks like it is by design?? +1 to allowing for (optional) longer screen time.

I just got my Fitbit charge 3 to replace a Fitbit  Surge.

The first thing I noticed is how much I have to flip my wrist to get it to display.  Half the time I get frustrated and just hit the button.

The second thing I noticed is how short the display time is.

I would love the option to change this even if the battery doesn't last as long.

Please give us this option!

I received it from Amazon yesterday and I am seriously considering it.

I had a Fitbit Surge and was hoping for an upgrade.

I can't believe there only response was to remove it from the manual.

Post your complaint on the Fitbit Twitter page in one of there ads it's the
only way to get them to do anything, this page was only invented to keep us
off there social networking pages as it's a bad look for them to have us
pointing out what's wrong there.

My suspicion is that this very short timeout is to be able to claim a longer battery life. That’s an important stat for marketing so I understand it to a degree, but not allowing an override is actively user hostile.

Please spend a little less time developing things like useless (because the screen’s too small to impart useful information) weather apps, and more on this feature which would impact positively on my life several hundred times a day.

Maybe this was so in the beginning , but now we have a watch that has a very long battery time but is useless for the rest of the features , the longer screen time was in the first manual as a feature and was taken out of the manual in a later period after complains !! So it was planned together with the longer battery!
Than we would have had a choice ! Now we have nothing!

Just bought the Charge 3 and the inability to increase the display time may mean I will be return it. Really liking everything else, but the amount of time the display stays on is way too short and irritating!!
