Macros in grams in the app

Hey everyone!
I have got a Fitbit Charge 2 and I have already downloaded the app into my iphone. As long as I am tracking the macros, I would appreciate if the app shows me also how many grams of protein, fat and carbs I eat, not only the percentage as it does now. I know I can check it in the dashboard on the internet via my macbook, but I think it would be really useful to make it possible in the app as well. What do you think?

I just recently started using fitbit and found this to be a feature that was missing from an otherwise really comprehensive and user-friendly app.  Percent is kind of helpful, but what I really need is a way to track macros by the gram.  The online web dashboard does a great job of doing this, and it would make a big difference to me in using the app if I could access that breakdown on my phone, as 99% of my logging is done by mobile.

Grams over percentage/calories! I'm in shock that in 2017 this isn't an option with FitBit! :0

I too would also love to see this on my app. I see it on the UI for the website, hopefully we can add a view for this soon in the app!

I like the idea of the macro percent, but I think including the total consumed amount would be handy too. So instead of 35% protein, being able to see that I consumed 130g of protein. This would really make things easier for me and most likely many others.

Specifically in the app.

Hi @GB89,

I believe you can already see that in the Web Dashboard (dashboard link at the top of this page).

I am on a specialty diet which requires me to meet specific nutrition goals. 1866 calories, 167 grams of fat, 23 grams of carbs, 67 grams of protein... Currently in the app I can only customize the amount of calories I eat/day - none of the other macros in my diet.

I LOVE how easy the FitBit food diary is to use, but, nutrition is so much more than just calories. I need to be able to customize.

I was surprised that when I change the serving size, the nutritional information does not scale to how much I entered in grams. Please make it like MyNetDiary where if you add more quantity, the nutritional label changes.

Also please sum the grams of carbohydrate, fat, and protein for entries for a meal time. So if I enter 100 grams apples, and two slices toast, it should tell me how many grams of carbohydrate are in that meal. I will use that to take insulin, but other people will use it for dieting.

I would also like to see macros in grams on the phone app....as well as adding fiber.  That would be perfect for the keto people.

Please show the macro nutrients for daily consumed foods in grams in addition to percentages. Very inconvenient without this.

It takes a lot for me to comment on a proposed update, but if the fitbit app could use improvement it is exactly here - in micronutrient tracking and more importantly, display. As others have said, percentages without grams don't really give an individual an idea of where they are in meeting micronutrient goals, they only know the types they're consuming. People using this aspect of the app care about hitting their goal weight in grams of protein, who care about keeping the suite of nutrients at a ratio based on that protein goal, etc.

I have a few friends who I've almost won over to fitbit, namely by showing off the sleep tracking and food/ nutrient logging aspects of the app. When they realize this shortcoming on the micronutrient side of things, it's just enough for the initial excitement to be tempered back to "oh, I guess that's cool?"

Please do incorporate this update.

Please add macro grams to the app.  It is quite annoying to have to log into the web dashboard to see where I am at everyday then switch back to the app for everything else.

Agree with needing this feature too. For health reasons I follow similar nutrition goals of "low carb | high fat | moderate protein". It would also be great to see net carbs in the android app and fitbit dashboard.

Really need this to be in grams so that I can better track everything that I am taking in on my new Keto lifestyle I need to be able to track it all.

I'd really love to finally see this implemented. seeing macro brake down as well as being able to set macro goals based on grams would really complete the app and elevate it to a true attend alone app for most of us.

It's really a shame that this is all being ignored when there is a clear use case for it and a clear desire by the community for its implementation.

1) See a breakdown of Macros not just by percentage but also by gram inside of the Fitbit app. This is already available on desktop, so we should be able to have the app reflect this already stored and tracked data.

2) Set nutrition goals by Macro and have them tracked. For example, setting a fat macro goal of X grams, you would be able to see how close you are to that goal, and have the Fitbit app tell you if you're under or over this goal.

Nutrition is the key to any fitness routine, and I'd love to see Fitbit start offering these small improvements that will go an extraordinarily long way for those of us who truly use our Fitbit as a tool.
