Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

Yes add the download! Heart tracking is the main reason I got the fitbit and it is inane that the data cannot be downloaded. Until the Heart Data is exportable REMOVE the "Your data belongs to you!" tag line as it is a lie.

It would be great to make the heart rate graph more interactive specifically for when it is tracking workouts so you are more able to see your heart rate at different times during the work out.
It would be nice to be able to track heart rate to see improvements over time during workouts.

great idea

What's the point of allowing a Custom Heart Rate Zone if you then don't allow us to actually see any of the results?????

I don't really care about your active/cardio minutes as they mean nothing to me or my goals.  They aren't even "typical" for any government recommended levels.  I want to know how much time I spend in TRUE cardio.  Either allow the dashboard to display our CUSTOM 1 zone results, or allow us to download this data.

VERY DISAPPOINTED.  Why did I pay the extra money to track the heart rate if I CAN'T EVEN TRACK IT.

I completely agree. I’m looking into other types. I would never buy from Fitbit again and I would not and will not recommend the product.

I am disappointed that this is still not resolved. There is no easy way for me to go through my recorded data and pull my resting heart rate--the whole purpose of my purchasing the Charge HR was for the automatic measuring of my heart rate as it spikes for fun as soon as I try to purposefully measure it (yes, I am that person). If I couldn't actually get at my heart rate data, I would have saved the money and stuck with my One which worked perfectly fine until I replaced it for apparently no reason whatsoever.

Another voice for this feature. I was also very disappointed to see that I can't access my own data or share it with other apps – I bike, so having the data in Strava is important.

A very strong argument to move to another brand.

Imagine if the step counter could calculate cadence, even with 90% accuracy. That would help too.

It is a sad thing that over 240 responses and over a year later, there is no updated response to export of heart rate data from FitBit. If it is really our data, it should be included. I'm not signing up for premium ever until this is fixed. And I do love my Surge. This lack of response and implementation of the feature. Shabby is a generous term.

the big question is

if the individual can not download and export their own data where is it going?

I am already looking for an alternative gadget

I would dearly love this feature as I use my Fitbit for HR monitoring while I workout and road cycle. It has been critical for me this past year as I had a thyroid tumor that was cutting off my trachea (didn't know at the time - they thought it was asthma) and I used the HR function to alert me to when I was reaching my point of maximum workout zone BEFORE I would stop breathing as HR is an excellent indicator for this stress on the body's systems. It allowed me to keep cycling and working out before I was finally seen by an ENT and sent for emergency surgery (and yes, it can take MONTHS to be seen by an ENT).

Post-surgery, while I was infinitely able to breathe better, I have had cardiac episodes (that I didn't have pre-surgery) that I'm currently monitoring with my Fitbit until I receive a cardio consult. I have tachycardia episodes and shooting left chest pains while doing NOTHING. While FitBit is not an emergency alert device, it is allowing me to monitor my condition as well as record episodes so I can present the data to the cardiologist - but these are hand-written notations. It would be PRICELESS to be able to carry in a report to the cardiologist with my activity levels as well as HR resting and HR active data - and be able to present this data historically to medical professionals. It's all connected - so are we via technology - so let's just have the option to utilize this data to better our health, please!

Excellent description of why this data is so important and the reason why being able to export the data without the need to do line by line transcription would make life much easier for the user as well as the medical providers who need the information. VivaYvonne LaRose, CAC

is there any update for this request, asked this last year to consider the healthvault existing export can include the Fitbit Charge HR heart rate data as healthvault has on parameter set for this, is this S complicated or what's blocking here?

This is needed, and it is very surprising to me that it doesn't exist already!

I could have bought a much cheaper device if I hadn't wanted HR data, but I did, so I shelled out for yours, fitbit.  One of your moderators on this forum has stated "I know that the a major difference between the Fitbit One and the Charge HR is the heart rate data.."  There it is, guys, GUYS, guys, seriously, guys.  The ONLY difference for most of us who bought your device vs another is the letters "HR."  Continous monitoring.  Your own website says "Your data belongs to you!"  I shouldn't be surprised by this stuff anymore but I'm naive so I am really disappointed that my data, in truth, belongs to your servers only.

The data is obviously there, saved, and ready to drop to a csv file, because I can see it in these kinda artsy/cutesy graphs that get displayed (nice for a 1 second eyeball trend only).

10 pages of responses (for this thread alone, also saw tons of discussion in the forum) to this suggestion, coupled with the fact that, let's review, the product's major selling bonus is continous HR monitoring, should really be shaming the folks who make the decision into making a move.  The data is there, the export structure has already been written, and I don't buy for a second that it would be wildly difficult to do.  I get that you're a business, so the guy making the business decision is just sitting there with his team going how can we better monetize this, but it would be just fantastic if you would not crap on this sea of people who is supporting your company by buying your product for ALL THE DATA you sell in the package and then refusing to let us have "our data" (per YOUR own site, eh?).  I hope the moderators continue to pass on this message.  Til then we'll be passing our own warnings on as reviews, lest others be as naive as we.

It is time to let fitbit know our dissapointment!!! Please, write an opinion in amazon/google about your fitbit. I have just done it.

Well this is a rude awakening!

I got my fitbit last week and although the app gives nice graphs of your heart rate throughout the day I found that there was no way to zoom in on (say) an exercise period. So I decided to access the raw data so that I could customize my own charts.

To my shock and surprise, I found out after googling export heart rate data that not only did I have to pay membership fees to get access to that kind of data but by design, accessing the data is so difficult that you have to have a university degree in software engineering to do so. Worse, this forum shows that this has been an issue for at least the last 19 months!

I certainly won't be recommending a fitbit to anybody else!

I'm a Surge HR owner and a Runtastic user.  As Surge doesn't able to remind me when I fall out of my heart rate zone, it would be great if it can share my heart rate data with Runtastic app and let it to do the job.

It's a very important feature as people can't keep checking heart rate during workout.

Hr in fitbit is completely useless. It is only to see your heart rate after the trainings!

I can't see why heart rate data is not available in the export since it is part of the data being aggregated by the fitbit app sitting in a data center somewhere. For me , it was one of the reasons for getting the HR, so I could track it real-time as well as for trending purposes. Any development in the export tool to add this data would be greatly appreciated!!

I can't understand why it is not possible yet. I need to be able to show my heart rate data to my physician. 🙂

The Fitbit Charge HR really needs to have the capability of downloading or exporting the heartrate data to an excel or other format file.  I'm getting quite erratic readings during the daytime (not the average heartrate but the moment by moment heart rate).  My cardiologist looked at the reading and said it was "impossible".  But I bet the problem is that the Charge HR reads out instantaneous heartrate, which will vary tremendously.  Better would be to do a moving average of the heartrate over a few beats.  I could do this in excel if I had the raw data.

I agree. Make HR data available for export, please!
