Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

Catplace:

thanks a lot. Will check out both options. Boy, this seems such obvious functionality. It's hard to believe Fitbit just doesn't take care of it.

@avagojoeI agree. Perhaps the existence of third-party alternatives is causing Fitbit to reduce the priority of deploying their own solution.

Just saw an interesting review of resting heart rate data by Fitbit and reported by David Pogue from Yahoo.  It is a little concerning that the company is doing lots of analysis using our data but not allowing us to review it ourselves other than a small window (last 30 days) on a small chart.  I have worked in IT and Data Warehousing and know that it is fairly trivial to add data items that have been stored to a data export.  Please make this available soon!

I agree, this will definitely affect my next smartwatch purchasing
decision, and I will not suggest this to friends

As far as I know, under GDPR shouldn't we have access to all our personal
data, or does fitbit not count this as personal data?

You have access to all of your data. You just have to be willing and able to get it.

This shouldn't be a treasure hunt, I know we can acquire the data but this
should be an option in one of the menus. Some previous comments from
professional developers have said that this should only take a minor effort
to implement, so it must be an intentional management decision

The research project I participate in does forward me the raw HR data in CSV format. 8640 measurements a Day. Very nice to make your own graphs.

Please escalate this to a higher priority. Since Fitbit is not integrating with an external repository, like Apple Health, Fitibt is holding our HR data captive. This request has been discussed for years. It is long overdue.

Edit: My post was edited, probably because I mentioned switching to a device in which I can access my data in the future.

The purpose of this is that I think I am over-training. I wanted to pull my RHR for the year and chart that against my weekly exercise volume and look for correlation and possibly adjust my training volume for the remainder of the season. Because I have Fitbit capturing my HR data, this is impossible.

When this Fitbit bites the dust it will be the last one I buy because of
this very issue.

I might do the same.  It's a shame because I have so much historical data on (locked into) Fitbit and I got my family into it too, so now we have a little community.  But now that I'm more serious about training, I need a system that "plays nice" with my other apps and sensors.  My sense is that Fitbit doesn't want this so that they can continue to have a monopoly on my data, making it extra hard for me to patronize or, god forbid, switch to another system.  I've moved into a consumer group that Fitbit doesn't seem interested in targeting.  Lots of people seem to have health reasons for wanting their HR data; maybe this is another consumer group that Fitbit doesn't care about.

But hey, if they're editing posts, it means somebody is reading them!

There has been a lot of traffic on this lately.  Unfortunately, I'm looking for improvements not people threating to go to another brand.

Thank you for the link http://www.gondwanasoftware.net.au/exerbyte/

The first good thing to come out of this place.

We have been asking for improvements for years and to date fitbit has not
responded hence the reason to get another product that will allow us to get
the data we want.

@Kwatson20Thanks! 🙂

Being able to see heart rate at one second intervals would be very useful. Too much data for an entire day, but let us specify an hour of a specific day to see our results.

Catplace has a nice chart - looks like the one from Pulse Watch https://iccir919.github.io/pulseWatch/public/index.html .

I want that, plus the option to look at a selected hour or 30 minutes at the most detail possible, hopefully one data point per second. That way if you had a few minutes when your heart was really spiking, you could have a detailed printout for your doctor.

@ldhikerYes, it looks very similar to that site, but it actually came from here. You can get one-second resolution from the latter site—but only when your watch is recording with that resolution (which it only tries to do when in 'activity' mode).

We are looking for a feature to download the cardio data from the fitbit.  I found I can download all activities like steps, calories, stairs, etc, but it does not include cardio information.   I am wanting to present this information to my cardiologist, but have no way to print it off

The two posts right before yours give ways to do this. I use https://iccir919.github.io/pulseWatch/public/index.html

Catplace uses http://www.gondwanasoftware.net.au/exerbyte/

The first one is 1 minute intervals, the second is much more detailed.  Both appear to be very good.

Now that I can get my HR data I am having problems with Their sleep calculations.  In this graph, I turned the light out and went to sleep at 22:02, but the fitbit said I didn't go to sleep until 22:32.  For some reason their calculations are too sensitive.  Where do I talk about that?

Hey @Kykainec and @Twomasc.

I will be merging this suggestion to the one about Adding Heart Rate Data to Export (and more than 30 days of data). Be sure to vote for the this suggestion if you have the time.

Thanks for participating!
