Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

While I am finding Fitbit meets my needs, it is apparent many others are not.

It also appears getting no response from Fitbit does nothing but add to the frustration...

It's quite disappointing that Fitbit does not support proper export of this data... This can't be a hard thing to implement... It seems like such a basic feature and before purchasing I had assumed this would have been implemented.

@Bluenaxela - not sure it's possible...

@DerrickS - would you please respond to some of these posts?

I would like to see the HR graph numbers changed from 40.50,70 changed to incerments of 5 starting at 20 through 100.  (ie. 20,25,30,35,40,45 ect,)

I found out something quite interesting: the data is actually available in JS format in the source code of the activity.

1) Go to any activity (meaning a page like fitbit.com/activities/exercise/123456)

2) F12 to bring up the developer Console (in Chrome)

3) Paste the following code and press ENTER:

var exercise = requirejs.s.contexts.components.config.config["mods/exercise/scripts/views/exercise"];
var timeSeries = exercise.timeSeries;
var hearRateTimeSeries = timeSeries.find(function(ts){return ts.dataType=="heart-rate";});
hearRateTimeSeries

The variable heartRateTimeSeries contains all your hear rate information, up to you to do whatever you want with it.

@TDA - thanks - I'll give it a try

@TDA - I need a little more help. I couldn't get the code to paste once I opened my activities/exercise window.

Exporting the HR data vs time to a spreadsheet would certainly be very useful for me for any number of reasons. And the ability of comparing change over sereral days would be very useful.

There are multiple threads about heart rate export...

if this is a regulatory issue (FDA etc) then please simply say so

 its false advertising to say you can export your data when clearly you can NOT

surprised that fitbit have not been sued already maybe someone should bring that up with the media team...

Still no updates from mods or FitBit team. This is ridiculous... I have four fitbits which I've given to friends and family and I've been a promotor so far. But this is it. I'll change to a competing brand and I'll start unpromoting. I'll start off by contacting large online mags and blogs.

Thanks for nothing!

I too want, indeed NEED, to export (preferably as CSV) my resting HR data for as long a period, at least three months, as possible.  I share the exasperation of others that 'my data' isn't mine anymore! So much else doesn't actually work properly on FitBit that I'm begining to wish I hadn't boight one, and even more that in my iniotial nethisiasm I had not given them as gifts. Never mind the US authorities, I'm in England and our data protetion agency is much more tolerant!

Yes please...

I pay for the yearly plan to see more data... it does not make sence that I cannot pull up a report on my heart rate.....

Stepping Up

Like many others, I would like to have exploitable time series of heart rate given by my Charge HR.

looking at the graph of an activity, one can't see  precise times of variations of heart rate in correlation with the exercise you are doing. Example: during an activity of gym, after ten minutes I switch to burpees, did it inluence the heart rate?

The indication of time lacks precision on Web dashboard (Windows version), and even more on Android systems.

Either you give the possibilities of exporting time series to some sheet application, or you give the possibilities, to read time for each point of the graphs.

The question may be the same for burnt calories, with less priority.

I don't want to give a goos mark to my fitbit device, which is fine, when the applications on Window PC and Android systems are so poor.

Re the promised unpromotion of Fitbit I can proudly say I've deterred 3 purchases from interested friends and colleagues! 🙂

Anyone knows if the upcoming Jawbone UP4 is a good alternative?

As the graphs don't show all the data an export option needs to be added.

I think we are all agreed on this, and it really shouldn't be difficult.

I would like to be able to expand or zoom in on my heart rate graph on the iOS app. The steps graph already does this and it's great. My phone screen is too small and the increments on the graph are too large to see what my heart rate was at a given time. At the very least more ticks on the x axis so I can estimate what time my heart rate went up or down would be great. All it has right now is noon and midnight. Thank you!

Heart rate data...what gives?  Seems like it should already be exportable.  Give me my data.  It's most shocking that the resting heart rate isn't available. The resting heart rate data is as simple as steps or any of the other daily measurements. already provided.

This only gets attention when someone starts a new thread about it. The moderator needs to join it to this thread. I suggest everyone start a new thread about this to raise awareness. Sorry mods. We need answers.

@jalm1 I can see that this will benefit a lot of users. I like the idea of having a larger history for the resting heart rate. A lot of users will like to keep that history to make a study to have a healthier heart and of course its going to be easier if the data is stored on the dashboard. Hopefully we will see this great improvement on our devices soon. Keep voting and commenting! Thank you for the request.

I add another voice to the statement that we ought to be able to export our heart rate data. Indeed, I am shocked that I cannot, and the expectation was one reason for buying my Surge.

I would love to see more than 30 days resting heart rate on a graph and be able to see data more like active minutes and steps for heart rate. I what to see if my resting heart rate has improved long term not just in 30 days.

My dashboard used to show my heart rate over the 24 hrs.

It is gone. Where did it go?

I agree @Nightwolf
