Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

Hi @TheLeroyMan! Thanks for sharing this great suggestion about allowing the option to export heart rate data with us. I've moved it into a similar request. You can also check this other suggestion, post a comment or click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

What is Fitbit's policy on reviewing suggested changes?  That is, how long does a suggestion have to be posted and voted on before Fitbit will considering implementing a change? Or deciding that the suggestion is one that they will not consider doing at all?

I would like to stay with Fitbit, but if you will not consider adding this feature, then I will switch to another optical heart rate monitor that will.  Currently I'm considering the Polar OH1 or Scoshce Rhythm Plus, which allows the user to export their minute-by-minute heart rate data, instead of providing the user with an average heart rate over a 5 minute interval.

I wish I knew... I don’t see why we have to vote on anything at all. Fitbit should just change it... the end.

No, you’re not the only one indeed. And with some Python code it is easy.

I totally agree. It was my being able to monitor my health via a LifeTrack
device that helped me have discussions with my doctor, use less medications
and eventually no medications. This was a savings in time and
money.....all due to that data.

So far I've only seen the 5 minute data available by downloading your entire history.

Yeah you’re right. But some people complain already for years and don’t solve the issue. But contrary to an apple watch Fitbit allows you to download all 8640 HR measurement points personally on a daily basis.

This information is currently available for export in the complete Account Archive export which is in JSON format (see our help article here).

If you would like this information presented differently, or in a different format, please vote on:

The data must be there so any decent developer could quickly run up an export facility, at least for the coarse granularity (5 minute slots). As I'm recovering from heart surgery it would be extremely useful.

FULL export of collected heart rate data is literally the ONLY piece of data I want exported.  This was the entire point of purchasing the watch

And it is so easy to do. Fitbit does make this option available and you need to write some code for it. But it is not that hard...

Yes... someone with decent Python skills could probably write a bit of code to do it automatically. The data can be got from "inspect element" and is given as a set of chart coordinates. Using these (and a couple of extra pieces of data in the element) it can be converted to heartrate and time, actually three samples per five minutes so a better granularity than displayed. If anyone fancies taking this forward I'd be happy to help!

Yes indeed. We built a database some years ago already and review the fitbit tracker data with Python code. Very interesting to have also AI investigating HR and HRV patterns. It is all possible.

This was resolved in 2017. Google for "Pulse Watch" github. The relevant community link is https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Fitbit-com-Dashboard/Download-heartrate-data/td-p/1735843 best answer. You cannot just search for "pulse watch" github directly in the forum because the advance search on strings in quotes does not work.

@ldhiker Nice to see there's a third-party facility, however the feature suggestion is for Fitbit to provide it natively. You'd think, if ordinary mortals (users) can run up tools, it would be easy for Fitbit to do so. The existing data export really lets the app/website down - it's little more than a summary. A great pity!

Yeah, right. But it is not the case unfortunately. So we can either keep complaining or solve it. I decided to solve it.

I agree, Please add heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.

I need to print this out for my Dr and there isn't anyway to do so. Thank you

Yes, indeed it is possible. If you need any help you can leave me a post.

Three years and they still won't let us download all of our data, especially heart rate, in a useful format (CSV or Excel).  What a shame.  Now that Google is taking over I will be terminating my relationship with FitBit as I don't want anymore of my data consolidated in one place.  It is too bad I won't be able to download all of MY personal data before I go.

Perform a full download of your data before you discontinue.  (See prior messages on this)JSON format can be read by some more recent versions of Excel

Hi everyone, and thanks so much for sharing this suggestion. Heart rate is currently available through export up to 31 days of your recent Fitbit data, or an archive of your Fitbit data for the lifetime of your account. For more information on data export, see our help article here.

While we don’t currently have plans to release this export in Excel or CSV format, it is available in JSON. Heart rate data and trends are also available in our new Wellness Report, under our Fitbit Premium subscription, so they are easily shareable with your medical practitioner.
