Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

Come on Fitbit, you provide our data to others to better understand health and human behaviour, and no doubt to improve your own sales, at least provide us access to our own data. Allow users to see or export long term heart rate data. People have been requesting this for 2 years.

... alas, it is over 5 years apparently!

The only people Fitbit's attitude seems to be good for is those at ... Garmin!

Hi there, I would like to add my support for the ability to download the heartrate data. I am attempting to track my irregular tachycardia and it would be great to be able to print my data out. Not sure why Fitbit have actively chosen not to make it available- is it a legal issue perhaps? Hopefully it is something that can be resolved soon.

Think this would be a great idea and useful.  Recently having heart issues and being able to give the cardiologist data from the last three years would be helpful in establishing a base line.

on my side, I used the GDPR rule to ask an export of my data and Fitbit sent it to me (I suggest all members of this discussion to do so, so that they realize that we are a lot with this need to export HR data).

I received .tsv files, I still have to figure out how to exploit them now...

If you rename your .tsv files to .csv, I think any decent spreadsheet will be able to open them. The field delimiter will be tabs rather than commas.

I do receive my raw Fitbit .CSV files from a research project. These can be importered in Excel or whatever other spreadsheet programme. Can produce fancy graphs with a.o min and max values. A cadiologist that I happen to know told me that the standaard deviations at night are of interest. These can be calculated from raw HR data. Could be of interest for Fitbit dashboard too.

Regards,

I think we have all given enough support to the idea of this info being useful. Further, some of us have gotten access to the data and done useful things with it. So the fact that we want this data is not in question and the fact that it will be useful as part of someone's plan for their health should also not be in question.

Maybe we should stop asking for it and start asking (1) exactly 'why' are we not getting it and (2) what developments with the software are being incorporated above this request??

I've been looking for the right "request" to vote for and I think this is the closest.  I want to synch my heart rate for my non-GPS workouts with Strava (automatically would be easiest, but I am also willing to upload!)  Right now I can export a tcx file for GPS workouts and the heart rate data is all there, linked to the GPS and time data.  I want to be able to do the same thing without the GPS data- then, on Strava I can mark it "indoors" and then they ignore the GPS, it seems.  Shouldn't be too hard, just make the GPS data all 0s or something...?

I would like the ability to download heart rate data to .xls or .csv formats like you can with weight, and other data points. Also, a selection that will download all data and not just 31 days worth.

Hi,

It appears that Fitbit only allows a summarized version of data to be exported (csv or xls). My suggestion is to allow access to the actual data. I appreciate that this may be used for monetization later on however firstly this is personal data and is covered by the new GDPR regulations (so should be accessible to the person producing the data), and secondly this will certainly effect purchasing choices in the future given the increasing number of tools to use this data

I'd like to be able to export my fitbit data in a format friendly (i.e. csv) to use in statistical analysis software packages like R

Move to europa and do a gdpr request. 😉

Except there's no sleep data in that, as it's not part of the raw data, but a calculated value...

But I agree - annoying that fitbit is doing all they can to make it hard for us to get our own data

how many votes does it take to implement this request? Does any Fitbit moderator ever visit this thread?  Seems like this thread goes all the way back to Feb 2017 and similar requests started in 2014!  Obviously having ability to export heart rate data is extremely useful for number of reasons by the Fitbit users.  Fitbit, you are going to loose many loyal followers if these requests are ignored... There are many high tech fitness tracking devices out there as an alternative...

I’ve left Fitbit for Apple Watch where I can load various other apps that give me access to my data.

This is kind of a shame since the fitbit 'kit' is generally good. But I understand this.

To my knowledge now, there are 9 people who have decided to either leave fitbit behind and go to someone else or not purchase (because of this issue and the way fitbit are (NOT) dealing with it).

Eventually, they will either do it or learn that winding up or ignoring customers, is something that customers will simply not accept.

It is a shame.

I just bought FitBit for my relative with the heart condition, so I could monitor remotely steps and sleep and the heart rate.

Only to find that the feature is not available.

I should have done my research before bying it. Very unexpected and very expensive.

FitBit, it should not take longer then few weeks at most to implement it, even with very slow development process.

And so many people will benifit and be happy.

Please, do it! Don't ignore the customer's wishes.

As all sharing is defined by user, there are no problems if somebody wants to share such personal information.

I'm very disappointed I can't get a more detailed look at HR over a complete 24 hour period. I just bought the fitbit and when I chatted with a fitbit employee he said I could see HR over a full day. The resolution simply isn't enough in the graphs provided. I should at least be able to download the raw data. Then I can create the graphs I need. So, please add this feature ASAP.

If they release the data then they will lose customers because people will
be HORRIFIED by how much biometric meta-data is being collected on them.

After extensive searching I found 3rd party tools that would let me extra
the data and granularity is basically minute by minute... imagine what
private companies could learn about you with that data in conjunction with
the rest of your info that is stored online.

What a time to be alive, and be lied to.

I have been collecting HR data on a minute basis for quite some time now.  It is difficult but not impossible.  It would be nice for Fitbit to provide a means to download it to me but until then, I will collect it as a developer.  I have seizures and having my HR data to analyze helps to determine when and why they happen.  So please don't do away with the data.  Just make it easier to get.

I have seen so many iterations of this complaint that I have lost count. I think the best way to deal with this company is to sell your device on E-Bay and buy another device that meets your needs. I don’t know what that device is; I’m not interested in paying through the nose for an apple watch. Best of luck indoor endeavors, but I give up.

I agree. I have the Charge 2 and my wife got me the Ionic for Christmas. I really like the but if I cannot get the heart rate data and a breakdown of my activities when I look to get a new one I’ll look at Garmin and the Apple Watch.

You can download your HR data down to about 5-second resolution. You just can't do it from Fitbit's web site.

Ok thank you. How??
