Make a new device similar to the Fitbit One

My Inspire 2 is starting to die. Please bring back a basic step tracker in clip form with the longest battery life possible. I don't care to track my heartrate, sleep, etc. I have an Apple Watch for that. I'm considering just getting a basic pedometer, but would ideally like to stay within the Fitbit ecosystem.

I have been using my now-ancient FitBit One for over 10 years. It meets my needs perfectly since all I want to do is track steps daily. It has worked through a series of iPhones from 4s to 15Pro. It looks like it has finally died. The battery takes a charge, but it does not want to track steps anymore. So I need something new(er).

I'm on my second One and as of last week I can sync it but the next morning all my previous days steps are gone and it shows zero steps!  I'm SO incredibly frustrated.  I will not buy another FitBit product as I don't want another wearable but would love to figure out how to get my data back for the last week.  I'm sure I won't because they don't want to support the One anymore but thought I'd chime in!

My wife had purchased a Charge 3 a few years ago, but never used it. I pulled the wrist straps off of it and can now easily put it in my pocket. I paired it with my iPhone 15Pro and it seems to work OK so far going forward, although it dropped the step history I had in my FitBit One account before the transition.  The other thing that I don't like is that Google dropped the website and retained only the FitBit app on the phone. The app does not have the capability to log steps, only miles and kilometers. This is a trend backward IMHO, but what can you expect from Google?

It's hard to believe that after this many years of people begging for the equivalent of a Fitbit One, there is still nothing. So my question is: is there any real possibility of a true Fitbit One equivalent? And if not, what's the point of this feedback?

Apparently, the vast majority of the market wants to wear something on their wrist. I made my own equivalent of a FitBit One by taking the wristband off of a Charge 3 that my wife purchased but never used. I just keep it in my pants or shirt pocket and snap it on to the charger when it needs juice. There is no rubber protection like the FitBit One, but it is much more convenient for me. When this one dies, I will purchase something other than a FitBit.
