More Accurate Battery Life or % in Mobile App

I have owned a Fitbit Charge HR for about 2.5 weeks now. Using the battery life indicator icon on the dashboard on my iPhone or IPad, I was shocked to see that I was at one-half reserve or less by the second day after full charge. I have no notifications permitted and only sync when I open the apps ( few times in 24 hours.) When I plugged in the Fitbit to recharge, however, the battery reserve always showed much greater than the dashboard icon reported. "What gives?" I asked. So, today I called your trusty tech support staff who has just confirmed that the battery life icon on the dashboard only has three "levels" it can report: full, medium, and low. Hmmmm. Not so cool.

OK, guys, please revise your onboard firmware and app software to more accurately reflect the true status of the battery reserve when checking into the dashboard. The "new dashboard" graphics have not addressed this issue. Otherwise, a lot of folks are going to be charging their devices unnecessarily rather than tracking all the fun on wrist or ankle, where they belong. Thanks!

I just saw a battery gauge on my Fitbit, but it only showed up when it was completely discharged.  So, I know the Charge HR is capable of displaying a battery level, but it's a matter of whether Fitbit will enable it as an optional screen while scrolling through stats on the watch.  It would be selectable so those who don't wish to see the battery level, could turn it off much like the rest of the stat screens.

I want the Surge to show a percentage, somewhere on the device, AND in the dashboard.

I would like to see my Macro percentages on the app like I do on the Web

I'd like the ability to set how low my battery is when I get a low battery email/text.  Right now I don't get a text until my battery is nearly dead.  I'd like to be able to set for 1 dot, 2 dots, 3 dots, etc. so that I can schedule a charge before an activity instead of running the risk of having it go dead unexpectedly.  Thank you!

Agreed. This would be very helpful.

Is this forum just to fool users into thinking that Fitbit cares at all what we think? Where suggestions are actually in the best interests for the company to consider? Curious, have any feature requests actually been implemented? It's been a year, and how much simpler could a feature request be. Please implement this idea.

First post - so here goes.  I love the idea of a battery level %.  This thread began back in 2013. Is there any update from the developers on the "status" of this request?  Thanks! Man Happy

on WP you have an 3rd party app called Fitbattery author 'Restlessdan' that shows you remaining battery percentage on the app itself and on a live tile icon, well done and worth to consider if you own a WP!fitbattery1.jpgfitbattery2.jpg

It would be great if the dashboard could show the percentage of battery power that is left 👍

I would like to add my vote to this feature! I realize that the Flex cannot show a battery indicator on the device itself, but I'm constantly in and out of my app. A percent indicator there would be VERY helpful. My Flex will sit on "medium" for DAYS and then all the sudden its dead or close to dead, usually at a very inconvenient time. What good is an email at 2AM telling me my Flex battery is low? I wake up the next morning and don't have a charged Flex for my morning run. (That happened this morning) However, if I would've seen the night before that it was, for example 20% or 10% etc, then I could've charged it overnight.

I've had many times that I haven't had any warning that my battery is low until its virtually (or literally) dead. I get busy and don't remember when I last charged it or, take the time to plug it in and see where the battery indicator is. Such a manual method, when the device is high tech and has a robust app to go with it, seems a bit silly. 😉

A % indication in my app would be SO helpful! Thank you!

Would love to see you guys add charge percentage to the Surge display, mobile application, and fitbit dashboard device settings page. Right now its basically a guess (other than looking at the bar), and on the mobile app, the battery level is usually off. It shows the battery as full when its anything above 50%, and it shows at 50% when its anything below that, but not quite dead.

If you go to the "hottest" feature requests, this is the fourth one down. It's much better to cast your vote and comment on an existing feature request. It lets Fitbit know that a certain feature has a lot of people backing it easily.

That said, I agree with this.

I find when I've worn my Fitbit for a few hours the icon on my app displays I have a half full battery, and then it stays that way for a couple of days. It always seems very suddenly I get an alert saying to charge it. It would be great to have an approximate % indication of how full the battery is so that I can plan ahead when to charge! (Ie when I know I'm not going to be out all day!) thanks

I bought a Charge HR so I could free myself from my computer and my phone and get some exersize only to discover that without my phone or my computer, I can't tell how much battery charge I have. Please fix this and add charge level as one of the displays I cycle through with the button.

Disply of battery level as a percentage should have been a no brainer from the start... IMHO anything less is useless.
Geez... HI, MED, LOW, come on, really?!?

As an added feature, since sweat/moisture will decrease battery life (as seen posted so often on all the forums) What about a cover for the battery leads on the Fitbit? I'd bet it would save a LOT of service calls and complaining.

When I first did last update I could see on top of iPhone that the battery was charging cause it showed besides my iPhone battery! Now gone called help desk and they never heard of that but it would of been nice feature instead of opening app to see! Or here's one look on ur Fitbit HR to see the battery level? Why doesn't the actual Fitbit show that?

My first ever post and it's a duplicate to what this person said in this thread already. Love the idea of % battery. Please make it happen!!

You should put a battery percentage so people know the percentage of your fitbit device. You could add it to the app or on the bands display itself.

This feature should be on the band's display itself as one of the displayed categories when you cycle through.
