I have waited as long as I can for an update on music storage. My return time is just about due so back it goes.

During the month, the lack of music has been annoying but the side button (or lack of) has annoyed me just as much.

I'll go back to my versa 2 while I look for a new replacement.

@UrbanMongrel how long do we have to take it back and what reasons? I paid $400.00 for this, and can't even store my own songs!!! I bought mine In Harvey Norman

Hi,

I was willing to upgrade my ionic for the sense when I realize that no music storage is possible. It’s a huge downgrade for customers that any company should satisfy to survive.
I m a really fan of Fitbit since 2013 and the very beginning of the adventure.
I m unfortunately wondering if I will keep wearing Fitbit if they “businessly” limit their functions... Customer doesn’t want to hear about commercial war or political reason. They just want to be satisfy...

what s left to Fitbit? A 4/5 days battery... is that enough? 🤔🤔🤔

Would be great to leave my phone at home while training and still able to listen to my music by versa3

Well I've waited hoping Fitbit would say something about music storage. They have said nothing. Taking my Versa 3 back today, and going Garmin I guess.

As I also work as a community support and have to deal with angry customers or customers demanding a change, I have to admit this whole thing is not handled well. Try not to rely on enough angry people in the forum to complain about missing music feature - and oh my - there are a lot of them here, aren't they? It's obvious people will dislike something so basic on this watch when it was a common feature of previous models. Try to do some research of the market before you release a watch. Try to gather feedback from other sources like youtube videos - already 3 youtubers I followed for the sense review did return the watch, because they are fed up with buying a 300 dollar watch and having features limited to several premium subscriptions or good features removed from previous models. Also, try to gather the return rate of the watch from the people who preordered.
This reaction is so 2000 when all the companies answered to anything: "Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it, keep posting more and we'll do something about that", but never did anything about it. If you want to be 2020, try to do your own research of customer's sentiment, offer real solutions to the customers and try to make them happy - in this case admitting your fault/explaining the decision of not including the music storage, proposing a solution via a patch/update with specific date stated or specifying the amount of people's votes needed to actually bring a change.

I have to admit I've also thought of returning it, but I still have hope in you to enable all features the customers were promised. Right now the product is not finished. The voice assistant is not available from some reason in my country even I don't really need my language localization (but I wasn't informed about that by resellers), the speaker function is useless, even the alarm does not use it, I can't play music and I can't play it without bluetooth headset (eventhough the watch has speaker) and even this was possible on previous model, I can't accept calls on my phone (but I also wasn't informed this feature will be coming in future by resellers, I just expected to have it in the watch). I had a lot of sympathies for Fitbit as company, but it is starting to feel like you guys really are getting a reputation of greedy company charging monthly of every feature put in the watch. It is not a good reputation and it will cost you much more in customer loss. Just charge more for the watch and let people enjoy their full potential, otherwise people will transfer to other companies' products.

Just to sum it up - of course literally every user (and me too ofc)  wants to listen to the music like they were able on the previous model, you don't need to gather any forum comments about that. I hope the new fix brings not only the phonecalls from watch feature, but also a sound storage possibility. Otherwise I think a lot of people won't support you anymore in future.

Spot on @aimreg But I feel we are just being ignored

You can imagine the conversation.

Hi Deezer/Pandora. Yeah we got this new watch coming out. You know how people want to put their own music on their devices? Yeah. Exactly. Well we are going to buck that trend and charge them to do so. Well actually they are going to pay you guys! High Five! Obviously only if we get a cut.

Complaints? Yeah probably. But they'll go away in the end.

Fitbit, when will you address the downgrade in your new “better” watches? Please add the music app back!! This is the 1 thing lacking from the Versa 3. I would not recommend it until it gets fixed

Well FitBit, as I've mentioned, you have one more week till I return my FitBit. Honestly I was even considering paying for FitBit Premium, just to get more advanced stats (which I already thought should be included). Anyway, guess this way you are loosing both the sale of a watch and the monthly fee. No way I am getting duped into paying for a music service to just use on my watch, even though I have plenty of my own music that I like. They say it costs 50 cents to keep a customer vs $5 to get a new one. Good luck to you FitBit if you will remain so shortsighted.

Yes, it’s crazy you spend that much on a watch and no music. I am such a Fitbit fan but this maybe a deal breaker. I have an older Fitbit versa I am using. I also have a Garmin vivoactive 4s. However, I haven’t been a big fan and was going to upgrade to the new Fitbit sense or versa 3. But with this music issue doesn’t make sense. My older Fitbit plays my music as well as my Garmin. Hey guys backwards. Fitbit is going to lose customers with this issue. I also read so many reviews on line and none of them mentioned this issue. Glad I came to this forum and read the reviews.

Absolutely asinine that the versa 3 doesn't have local music storage but the 2 does. This needs to be implemented ASAP!

Maybe Fitbit thinks they are as Nokia thought in the 90s, when it had over 90% of the market ... fired!
Luckily there is a choice and we can abandon them without bit problems: if you do not meet customer expectations, customers leave. If you force users to pay to listen to their music, they are not satisfied. If you oblige users to pay for the plus service to get 4 more data after having already paid nearly 400 $/€ for a phone, they are not satisfied. If you are selling a phone with various bugs and a jerky interface, they are not happy to be a beta tester (even paying) for your products.

The suggestion of being able to add our own music to the Versa3 and sense has already been made, but it's been difficult to find out if it is going ahead. So, is it happening? If it is, will the ability to do so be enabled by a software/firmware update? Also, is Spotify going to be enabled to work offline without the phone being in range?

Was planning to order a fitbit Sense soon, as I was waiting quite some time with a Android smartwatch which could do all this. Butt.. when you can't store any music, I don't see the point. i still have to take my phone with my when running, which is one of the main reasons why I would want a smartwatch...

Please include this! Even my current Samsung Gear Fit 2 offers this feature..

I have raised this same point in another thread but basically reiterate what all are saying here. I'd like the ability to add my own music to the watch, and even allow me to store music from my Spotify account so I can go running with a GPS watch that has music that I have already paid for while not relying on taking the phone with me. I might as well go back to using my blaze and carry the phone to listen to music and track my GPS.

So, I'd like the reassurance that Fitbit's developers are going to fix this and that it will be available as a software/firmware update.

  • Can you please confirm that adding our own music will be rectified?
  • Can you confirm that it will be a downloadable software/firmware update?

If you can't confirm yes to both of the above questions and it needs a hardware update, then I will return the watch!

Hi @gjfssmhbhjhrsdg, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see Music storage on Sense/Versa 3. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

This "option" was something that was already available but your product
management/development team took this away. Whoever made the decision to
take that feature away should not be in charge of decision making with your
product. If you add this back, will the Sense/Versa 3 cost more money? I
recommend you make the decision to add this back asap and redistribute the
watches or I predict you will lose a lot of your customer base.

Thank you,

I've had the Versa 3 for two days now and I'm sadden by the no music controls. You can't add your own music to the device which is ridiculous. So, basically you add a feature like GPS but then you take a feature away. One compliments the other so I don't understand the decision. Do the people that format these devices even use them? They did not make the Versa 3 with the customer in mind. Also, what is up with the button that isn't a button? Seems like mine only works about half the time and I have to reach under my watch to find it. It's okay to leave the functional features. Not everything has to be changed on the newer models.

Come on Fitbit - how is this a step forward in tecnology and wearability?!

Making us carry our mobiles when we go out for a run rather than being able to download songs to our new Fitbit Versa.

Extremely disappointing to say the least.

Looking forward to the reversal of this badly thought out decision.

I totally agree. I really want to upgrade to Sense but not if I cant have my music . It would be great not to carry a phone .

I have the Sense and can confirm that it sync's nicely with the windows 10 app, we just need this feature added back in to store personal music.  I love the sense however, cant use for fitness, Im still holding on to my versa 2 because it supports onboard music storage, but I want to fully imbrace the SENSE 😄 .  Fitibit, the Sense cost 200$ more than the Versa 2, is it easy to add this feature so we can make our community super happy?

Picked up my Sense today and was looking forward to enjoy music while exercising without dragging my phone with me.
After a lot of hassle I found it is not possible. Incredible... It is going back!

I am disappointed that I can't store my own music on the Sense, why would you not have this feature?

Picked up the Versa 3 and had an impression Versa 3 is going to have the ability to store music just like Versa 2 and even with GPS, turn out I have to run with my phone for the music, what is the point of having the GPS built-in?
