I recieved my fitbit Sense this morning. The most important thing I hoped to do with my smartwatch is to go for a run without my cellphone. For that, I need a smartwatch that can store music. If it isn't possible to do that, then why do I need a smartwatch? There are a lot of features on the watch, but if the basics aren't there then it is not worth the large amount of money I spent on it. Sooooo, I was really dissapointed to learn that it isn't possible to store music on the fitbit Sense. When I read the comments here, I see that a lot of people struggle with the same dissapointment. And I learned also that fitbit is taking it in account and that maybe in a next update it will be possible (just like on older models). Now I need to know if (and when) this is going to happen? My decission to keep the watch completely depends on that question.
@AshleyBloem , why do you think "fitbit is taking it into account"? I hope/wish that were true but I havent seen any evidence of that. Is there a reason you believe that to be true?
Hi @Hritik, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see music storage on Sense. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
I was just about to buy the Versa 3 until I realised I cant store my own music on the watch. This is a dealbreaker for me, so I'll be looking elsewhere.
Fitbit please please add offline spotify music storage, GPS is great but it completely defeats the purpose if you still have to bring your phone on a run in order to listen to music!
I just received the Fitbit Sense, and we have purchased the Versa 3 for our son to give to him for his birthday. My daughter has the Ionic and is able to have music on hers. Yet with the newest models, I am extremely disappointed that I am not able to store my own music that I have paid for over the years! Why should I have to pay for another music subscription when I've already paid for the music?? Fitbit- you really need to allow people to store their music on the device. Its one of the biggest draws for owning a watch like this! We will be looking at returning and getting a different watch.
I was all set to buy a versa 3 when I discovered that I wouldn't be able to store my own music on it. The reason I want the versa 3 is so that I don't have to bring my phone with me, but if I can't have my music on it while I run there's no point. I don't use Deezer or Pandora or even Spotify. I have my own music, and I need to be able to transfer it. I won't be buying a Versa 3 unless this feature is added.
Not sure why I am still monitoring this thread. Fitbits customer service leaves a lot to be desired and this thread is their way of telling us to all go pound sand. I really liked my ionic even with that convoluted adhoc webserver the app makes to load mp3s. But now you lost a customer, I bought a galaxy active watch that does what I want, fitness tracking, GPS, and local mp3. I don't like it as much as fitbit but I won't compromise on those features and fitbit does not offer a product with all those anymore. Goodbye fitbit it was nice now you can continue to ignore other users and not just me anymore.
as this thread has already gained votes and popularity, could you give us an update? Is the suggestion being analyzed by the Fitbit team? And, if so, what are their plans? We need more interaction from Fitbit members in these forums...
I'm sure there will be a contract with these music platforms where they cannot pull out without a lawsuit or a huge payout. I would imagine what these platforms paid and to what they would lose in breaking any contract would massively out way the few hundred watches sent back because of this post.
It's shame greed took over from customer concern. But most companies are like that. Hopefully, they will think again before signing similar contracts on the next releases, but as I said, I'm more than sure the payout from these music platforms outweighs a few hundred lost customers. It's just business.
We appreciate your feedback. Please know that we're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. In this way, our development team will review this further. We hope to see you there.
@LizzyFitbit any chance of some sort of update so we know we aren’t being ignored? The generic responses about moving to the topic etc are essentially as good as being ignored at this point.
Fitbit moderator, I don’t actually believe Fitbit relies on input from the customers. If they did they would at least give us a satisfactory answer about music.

I believe we have been very patient and Fitbit has read our opinions and disappointment of the the inability to download our own music to our Versa 3 or Sense. To my knowledge, we have received little to no feedback to their very loyal customers of what their plans are. To me that is sad.
It’s now time to extend our comments outside of this forum.
For example, if you purchased your Versa 3 or Sense from Amazon, now is a good time to write a comment informing potential customers that the Fitbit Versa 3 and Sense will not allow you to download your own music giving you the ability to play music, etc. without having to carry your phone with you. Recommend NOT TO PURCHASE if you like that feature.
You can also create a YouTube video showing how this feature was removed, yet they are charging more for these two models.
I didn’t think we would have to go this route, but the silence is deafening. Personally, if this is not fixed, it will be the last Fitbit I will ever purchase nor will I ever recommend a Fitbit to anyone.
Hi, I bought the Versa 3 thinking I could store music on it while swimming, as I don't want to leave my phone on the side of the pool to be potentially stolen. I already have other music streaming services that I pay for, if you aren't going to allow us to store music on the Versa via personal storage, then at least don't shoehorn us into only one, not even popular service like Deezer! Why can't Spotify or Pandora store music? Why not Apple music? This should be changed.
I specifically got versa 3 so that I wont have to take my phone while going for a run or cycle down in India. There is no option to download music into the watch . This was a big heart-break for me . Please update this for the watch. No point paying so much otherwise. Music is mandatory for workouts.
