Photo Sharing for Challenges

The Fitbit community is creating friendships that make the challenges really fun.  It would be great to have a photo sharing capability within the Challenge feature!

Love the Fitbit!!

I'd definitely would like to be able to share my photos and my other fitness stats with my friends and family... This is a great idea.  Hopefully, more people can see and vote for this.  This will definitely increase user engagement.

Agreed!!! Was just doing a weekend warrior with some friends and another challenge friend and I completed a 7 mile walk and would have loved to post a photo on challenge thread. Why have the picture option at all if you can't use it on the Fitbit app?

See?? Easy! Can do it here??? But not on challenge??? What??!!

I did figure out one way to share a picture--it's a little
indirect---upload the picture to your facebook account--then copy the
http address for that picture and paste it to your email account- open your
email account on your phone and copy and paste that link to the challenge
comments---I can't figure out if you could do it all on your phone---I do
not see how you could access the http address for that picture of the FB
app for your phone

Was wondering when we can post photos in our challenges because not all of us on them, are friends on Facebook so we can't see where they have walked.
Would be a really good addition 🙂

Totally agree. A picture option in the text input section would be great.

It would be great to share photos in the challenges. Messaging just doesn't cut it all the time.

I agree! I live in the Smoky Mountains and lots of times I would love to share a picture of my hikes to inspire others in my challenges. IMG_4637.JPG

this is what I saw on my morning walk and wanted to share it with my friends in our weekend warrior challenge:

So I vote for allowing photos in the message area of the challenges.

It would be great if we could upload pictures inside our challenges just like we can on the community page

I would love to see a photo insert feature on the challenge board. We started a work week 5 day challenge at work. Each week we changelle each other. Every week someone wins.  We can motative each other with text, or talk smack to have fun. However, we can't add any photos of us. Would love to show off a work out photo on the board.

When I’m in a community chat would love to be able to send a pic to all my friends in the challenge it’s a massive motivational thing and keeps everyone going they should put it on as a lot of people I do challenges with are on the other side of the world and don’t see them so nice to share

I would love to share progress photos,  food creations,  and other inspirational photos with friends in challenges.  Fitbit is the only fitness site I haven't seen this feature available in.  Hope to see it added soon!!!

Please allow us to post photos in our weekly and weekend challenges!  It will help motivate us !  Photos of where we’re walking and of ourselves walking! Thank you!!

So, three years since this suggestion was made and still no follow up... come on Fitbit, listen to your users' input so you'll stay ahead of the game in the consumer wearable market.

I understand you'll see some possible issues with this suggestion, I offer some solutions:

- Inappropriate content? Fair point, but let people flag such content. Too much flags and your rights to post photos are revoked for a while.

- Storage? Limit the photo size, cache it locally on users' phones. It doesn't have to be razor sharp, anything is better than no photos at all

- Bandwidth? Sure, but compression is quite good these days. Also, phones can do resizing and compressing locally before uploading

- Cross platform compatibility? No issue anymore. All supported iOS/Android devices have modern image/compression libraries on board

Only thing remaining is having to pay for expensive development hours. Play your cards right and you'll see a return on investment when the ecosystem attracts more users buying fitbits (and replace it every few years), because the ecosystem is so good compared to other brands.

My few cents 😉

I agree with @Jorix

Why are we still here three years later and still no ability to share photos in challenges?StepBet let people share their progress photos in their challenges.  Fitbit really should be able to do the same.

Agree 100%
Photo sharing in challenges
Friend request confirmation
No character limit in private messages

These features seem obviously missing after many user requests.

Can we move these to the short list?

Thanks!
