Pokemon Go Adventure Sync Support

Pokemon Go is soon to roll out a feature allowing external apps (namely Apple Health and Google Fit) to track steps and distance without needing to have the Pokemon Go app running.  It would be great if Fitbit's services could be supported as well.  As it stands, Google Fit and Apple Health do not officially work with Fitbit.

I have been gifted a fitbit by a loved one and it annoys me to the high heavens that I cannot hatch eggs with it on pokemon go. They both require steps, they both use these steps as counters but they dont share data even running on one device! Please make this happen. Currently I am on a blaze. But if this happens I'll be sure to purchase the newer models.

Hi

just my two cents...I think this would be a great motivator to get people into activities

So please create a syncing app

I just started using Pokemon Go a couple of weeks ago with my daughter. I am trying to get her more motivated to move because of some health issues, and Pokemon Go is the only thing I have found, so far, that excites her.  We walked almost 20miles last week because she WANTED to!  You have no idea how happy that makes me. She loves that her iPhone health app connects to the game so she can walk to get candy for her buddy.  We would love it if her Fitbit would somehow sync with it, too, so she can get more mileage in at school from gym/recess. She's not allowed to have her phone at school, but doesn't want to miss out on all the steps she gets there.

Please, please, please come up with a way to have Fitbit work with Pokemon Go.  I don't want to buy an Apple Watch.

i am one of the "dedicated" PoGo player. Recently, I have been looking for fitbit to get. Although I prefer fitbit products, but unfortunately, upon discovering that fitibit does not sync with an adventure sync, this will turn me away from fitibit product towards an android watch. I will keep an eye on this section at the time i decide to buy and make the decision then. Definitely if fitbit supports, they will gain at least 1 customer

It’s sad to say that I’m actually considering buying an Apple Watch only because of this feature. I bought a Fitbit because it was cheaper and I could track my steps to see my progress to “hatch” these Pokémon eggs. Well now with the integration with Apple and Samsung, I find myself using my phone more often as a step counter and my Versa just sitting in a drawer for the past 3 months now. It doesn’t appear that Fitbit plans to do any intergration.

I’m fully aware that adventure sync only works with Apple health and Google fit. -.-  I bought my Versa before Pokémon had adventure sync. Had I known that before... I wouldn’t have ever bought it in the first place.

Fitbit happens to be a great exercise tracker other then the every movement is a step. It can't be to hard to at least let fitbit sync with pokemon go regardless of which fitbit you have~MelLovesBrandon

You can’t sync Fitbit with Pokémon go. That’s the whole reason for this this “idea exchange”. Even with a third party app you can buy on the App/play Store. That doesn’t work. People are claiming that it works but that’s because they had their phone in their pocket and it was using either Apple health or google fit to sync. You’re also right about every movement is a step. It’s quite a problem when I had left it on a small capartment in the dash of the car and it registered over 4,000 steps. With that being said I doubt Fitbit will ever make this feature. Thus selling my Versa.

The only apps that work with Pokemon Go are Apple Fit and Google Fit. Using a third party app such as FittoFit does not work and will actually override any data that Google Fit recorded, making everything you did invalid. I think the confusion was when you said Samsung worked with it.

Given that people have asked Fitbit for true Google Fit integration for several years and it's been in consideration for just as long, go ahead and get a Apple watch or Android watch if you want something that will work with Pokemon Go. I will be incredibly shocked if Fitbit does someday.

My current Fitbit is likely to be my last one too. We can be told all they want to vote here or somewhere else, but without any new updates from Fitbit (and I mean a real update, not a “vote here” as if we already hadn't) we have no reason to believe that they are listening and care about integrating this feature. Vote with your money since that is what they really care about.

I was really, REALLY hoping to see this happen between Pokemon Go and Fitbit. I resisted the urge to switch to an Apple Watch when I had the chance, and I stuck with my Fitbit... but I guess I should start pricing a new watch. I really want this feature, as a lot of people do. Pity...

It's almost like FitBit doesn't realize that Niantic is also working on a Harry Potter AR game that is going to absolutely blow up in popularity this year with that fan base...if they build this for Pokemon Go, they will be ready for implementation with the new game as well because I imagine they'll build it very similar at least with regards to step integration...so many people going to buy Apple Watches instead just because they are compatible. Your loss FitBit...

I agree, I actually quit playing Pokémon go because I walk at work and the app doesn’t track in my building. I would love if the watch would synch with the app and give me my steps. I sure miss playing that game. I also disliked that playing it made my battery life on my phone low very quick

It would be great, if Fitbit could actively work together with Niantic to create an API, so all our steps counted with a fitbit-device could be send to Pokémon Go (and even the other Niantic-Games). Fitbit is still the market leader and may be able to initiate such a cooperation.

I understand that it may not be in the best interest of fitbit to work together with Google (as it is a competitor) to sync our data to google fit. So our steps might stay "manually imported" to google fit. And manually imported data would open more doors for cheaters in the game.

But Niantic works together with Google and Apple to sync steps, so now is the time where Fitbit might step in and negotiate with Niantic

The fitbit community might grow, if Pokémon Go Players are lead into temptation to buy a fitbit instead of another activity tracker.

I am toying with the idea of buying the new Fitbit Inspire HR (since my old Fitbit has served it's time), but if there is still no syncing possibility to Pokemon Go in prospect, I will have to overthink this again.

I literally just came here, registered, and clicked on all your policies to support this idea. I read some of the comments and I realize that this might give you a lot more work having to figure it out with Niantic. But again, there are a lot of competitors now on the fitness trackers, so give many of the FitBit enthusiasts a product that can interact with whatever platform they want. Personally, that's why I am actively choosing a platform agnostic Fitbit instead of an apple/android solution.

I would like to see this on my Fitbit versa.

It's going for April and there's STILL no word from both giants. PLEASE can both companies listen to us... This is such a minor problem compared to all the good things that would come both of their ways! The benefits to both of you would FAR OUTWEIGH any difficulties you'd have in integrating.

would be cool.

🙂 just make the switch. I did. I’ve had my Apple Watch for about a month and the differences is night and day. The only thing that Apple does not do that Fitbit does is the sleep tracker. Other then that i love it. And I can spin the poke stops from my watch if I want as well. Making calls and replying to texts is a plus. Makes my life easier when I don’t have my phone one me like when I’m on a run.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We're always striving to enhance Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. We do not currently have plans to release this feature. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. For now, we will leave this suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so that we can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.

With Pokémon Go's release, it would be great to see that Fitbit, the authority in wearable fitness trackers and the app Pokémon Go which encourages its players to walk around and discover the world using their feet, join forces for a better you. Hitting your goals and catching your beloved Pokémon, is there anything else better than that? Whenever you reach your Fitbit goal, you'll get a little in-game item for Pokémon go. Pokémon related badges will also add spice to your collection of badges. You can brag it off to your friends as a sort of badge that you and Pokémon accomplished.

I think this would be a very good move for Fitbit since they have been the forerunner in the wearable fitness trackers industry and with the popularity of Pokémon Go, what better way than 2 giants in the industry joining together. Makes sense right?

Thanks for reading.
