Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

It would be great for the female section after tracking a period to be able to track your pregnancy as well.

I totally agree... Being pregnant I don't need my period notifications, but having a pregnancy tracker instead would be great...

An option under female health to check off if you’re pregnant. HR increases, weight increases and menses cease. It would be nice if data during this time are tracked separately.

Yes please to being able to change status to pregnancy (& tracking water intake as needed!) Would love to see a nutrient tracker to reflect the needs of pregnant women too, e.g. folate and iron

It would be nice it I could track my pregnancy in the Female Health section. Just the basics would be nice. I am surprised  Fitbit doesn’t already have this feature.

Having the option to log a pregnancy is definitely a must! I'm currently pregnant and would have loved to have this ability in the Fitbit app as I'm still wearing my Fitbit. There are lots of changes going on during this time and after and being able to see how that interacts with everything else that Fitbit tracks would be great and helpful. This would be an extremely helpful addition to the app.

Adding the option of tracking basal body temperature and ovulation data would be extremely helpful when not pregnant for those trying to become pregnant as well as those trying not to get pregnant. It would be great to be able to do all of this in the one app and not have to use multiple apps to track fertility information.

Hi all,

It’s exciting to see all this energy surrounding this critical feature.  Please make sure you’re also voting (hitting the thumbs up at the top of the screen) to tell FitBit that this topic matters.  It seems like they don’t care how many comments get posted- just the votes.

Yes!!!!
This has over 1000 votes... how many does it need for FitBit to take action?? Why offer the opportunity to track periods, fertile periods, ovulation dates, unprotected/protected sex....  if you cannot update in the future to mark pregnancy?
Please update this feature for female health!!!

Pregnancy/Nursing mode to track the following:

- suspend mentruation information so that the app doesn’t think my regular cycle is over a year long

- Ability to target healthy weight gain over the course of my pregnancy (weight loss goals have a target date but weight gain does not).

- it would actually be amazing if FitBit took your pre-pregnancy weight and helped set weight gain, nutrition, and exercise goals based on health standards and using BMI prior to pregnancy as a guide.

- And just for fun, why not some badges to commemorate pregnancy related goals? We aren’t going for crazy steps and weight loss and stairs goals while pregnant, so it would be nice to be honoured for the simple fact that we are busy creating and nurturing life and we are trying to do that in the healthiest manner possible. So trimester badges or badges for 10K streaks or hitting water consumption goals would be cool. And of course the “you delivered a baby you are a freaking rock star” badge 😎

Tracking a period is great on fit bit but I think there should be an option for tracking a pregnancy. Not only that but an option for breastfeeding. I recently had a baby and I entered my goal weight and the fit bit wants me to eat less calories to lose weight, but as a breastfeeding mom, I must eat a great amount of calories to keep up my milk supply. I think the female tracker could encompass for female health trackers. Not just the period tracker but more.

Hey there, moderator! What is the status on getting pregnancy/nursing options added into the application?

Arlzbc

Agreed, also add option for BBT! Love this idea. Going a step further, if the algorithm could factor in HR patterns that would be wild, identify increase after ovulation, and increase if pregnant.

Would be helpful to be able to add that I'm pregnant rather than having to see my predicted periods for the next 9 months!

Hi @Lubelia! That’s an interesting idea and could be useful, thanks for sharing it.  I've moved it into a similar suggestion, as the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Seriously @YojanaFitbit? An “interesting idea”? I can’t even. It doesn’t sound like y’all are even trying to come up with good responses anymore.

please just give us an answer for what it will take to get you all to listen to us about this.

Please either fix this or work on a two-way integration with a more-robust third-party fertility tracker (like Ovia).

I think this would be great! How long until the status changes to "In Development"?

I would also love this.

Some updates on how your heart rate and body changes during the stages of pregnancy (maximum and resting heart rate would be different during pregnancy) would also be beneficial.

I agree this will be useful as I’m pregnant as well

Fitbit's period app is terrible as it is made by men who... yunno... don't have periods.

I recommend Flo to keep track of periods instead. It has a lot of different features for pregnancy and what not and also "syncs" to Fitbit.

Yes please, one of the reasons i got the versa was for the period tracker and  now that i’m pregnant i had to turn the feature off because it kept telling me my period was in 4 days!!! It’s going to be very inaccurate when my period starts again.
