Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

I was shocked to learn that Fitbit does not have an option to add a pregnancy, especially with so many requests over so many years. Your heart rate is elevated during pregnancy in addition to all of the other changes happening in your body, and it is surprising that Fitbit has not added a pregnancy feature. We are not asking for it to become a pregnancy app, but simply to allow the app to track health metrics properly throughout the pregnancy.

At the moment, the cycle trackers doesn't have an option to log pregnancy so, when you do get pregnant, it keeps reminding you every month that you are late with your cycle (which, for obvious reasons, won't come for another 9 to 12 months). It is quite annoying and made me turn off the cycle tracker.

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to log pregnancy in the Menstrual Health Tracking tile with us. Because this idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. This is an absolute must if you want to also do menstrual tracking. Pregnancy is part of womens health. There needs to be a way to turn off period predictions at a minimum. The rest of pregnancy changes would be nice too (ie changes in calorie needs, weight gain predictions and tracking) but being pregnant is part of menstrual tracking. So please add this.

I would love a pregnancy setting because 1) it is annoying for it to keep bringing up my period every month when I dont have it. 2) I also I read it comments below having no periods for a while messes up the data for your periods.... I wouldn't like that either. 3) you can have complete information about that side of things in one place. Instead of having to do something else for when you're pregnant.

I have just purchased my first smart watch whilst pregnant to ensure a healthy pregnancy. I was shocked to find out there is no option to record that I am pregnant. The watch data seems off already after only wearing it for a couple of hours- my heart rate appearing really high and too my calorie count. It would be good to know this isn’t due to a faulty watch and is a normal response to being pregnant…

I can not believe still in 2021 that Fitbit have not listened or responded to the many requests about a pregnancy setting.
i feel really infuriated that I now own a smart watch that is gender bias and does not account for my pregnancy-  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/gender-bias-in-medical-diagnosis

when will Fitbit recognise their discrimination practice and include a pregnancy option.

I know I can’t be the only one who feels there should be a way to tell Fitbit you’re pregnant 🤰🏼 and it would be awesome to track my pregnancy through the app as well as not have it throw off my cycle tracking info for when I’m not pregnant anymore.

It would be very helpful to track pregnancy and related data in the app. For one, it's irritating to get the frequent reminders to track a period that's not coming. Instead, I'd love to be able to track symptoms, which would make it easier to remember things to bring up at my next appointment. I struggle with blood pressure during pregnancy, so it would be great to track that.

As a side note, when not pregnant I have an iud that effectively stops my periods. It doesn't seem like there's really a good way to track that either. Essentially the only time the female health tracking feature is useful to me is during the few months every couple of years when I am trying to get pregnant.

I take my fitness and health very seriously and have been a Fitbit customer for 5 years. I am breastfeeding my third child and am disappointed that this is STILL not an added feature.

Please don't ignore the women asking for this Fitbit! We have all invested in your company and products, it's time to start caring for all of your customers. We understand that comprehensive pregnancy and postnatal tracking that is being requested may take a long time to implement but to be able to log a pregnancy (and end it after birth or if the pregnancy ends early) would be a start!

Perhaps look into partnering with a real female health tracking app if it's all too hard for the developers?

I agree with this and all of the comments!! Let's go Fitbit! People have been asking for pregnancy related setting since 2013, it's now 2022. This would have been awesome! Pregnancy, reproduction, etc is an integral part of being a woman, why is there nothing about this other than menstrual cycle tracking, which by the way is not very good, other apps are much much better.

When you give us this option, we can better track through the app we already use to track our health and food. We can track weeks. That’s all. Nothing crazy but it will also stop the constant period pop ups as well.

Yes! I came here to specifically suggest a pregnancy mode. It is really discouraging having my Fitbit remind me after a solid walk or low-impact exercise that I should get my heart rate up more next time. I'm pregnant and doing my best to take good care of my body which means exercising at a lesser intensity! It would also help to have a more accurate view of how many calories we burn while pregnant and how much we should consume.

Come on guys, this feature has been requested by so many women for years! It's a crucial time in a woman's life so why not support that? Especially as this accounts for a substantial amount of your users.

In the meantime, giving talks for the International Women's Day... This one titled "Fitbit: building technologies for Women's Health". So at least you guys look like you care without really needed to do anything. Yay marketing!

As it has been said a million times here over a few years, Fitbit is completely useless for pregnant women. Heart rate goes way up, they need more calories, they expect to gain weight... Not even the female health tracker has an option for a "positive pregnancy test", the only option is to completely disable it. C'mon, the basics is not such a complex feature...

So baffled that the menstrual health feature didn't have pregnancy as an option - what an oversight. Aside from personal interest in this feature, seems like there would be such interesting data for FitBit to be gathering and potential learning by sharing anonymised data with the medical community. I used a separate tracking app (Natural cycles) for cycle tracking and decided to replace my broken fitbit out of curiousity of what changes will happen while pregnant - resting heart rate and some of the the sleep tracking things in particular. Reading the comments, it looks like I might as well return the new watch as it won't give me accurate data and feedback. I've ordered the Sense which is supposed to do stress checking too - without taking in the physical changes from pregnancy will it just think I'm getting progressively more stressed over the next few months?!

There needs to be a way to log a pregnancy and postpartum in the app
