Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

Hi @Msalvo, thanks for taking the time to share your comment and feedback about adding the option to track pregnancy on the Fitbit app. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.  I hope to see you around.

This has been “under consideration” for years.

The moderators here have been saying the same thing for years..and they are still being employed by Fitbit. I would have sent them home ages ago for doing nothing other than "moving our threads to a similar suggestion" which can be automated.

Hello Moderators, not sure what your role is here. I was pregnant and I've already given birth. Your answers to all our queries still remains.

I'm just waiting for my fitbit versa to kick the bucket before moving on. Other than the crappy part of not being able to track pregnancy and period trackers being minimal, the hardware is really good. Also, the ppl managing this forum is equally as bad.

Sorry, not sorry. I'm sure the ladies here all agree with me.

To all the women who have submitted this request over the years, I have now resorted to pushing this via twitter as it's clear the FitBit moderators are doing sweet nothing to push this request. I would encourage you all to do the same if you have the time, as brand image can be impacted if enough people complain about the same function that doesn't exist, that should exist.

I was just gonna suggest something like this bc I feel like the only time
people listen is when you have enough numbers or yell loud enough. I don't
have Twitter but if I did I'd love to help

Its disappointing that Fitbit has failed to add this feature for a decade now, when thousands of loyal customers have requested it. I understand there are liability issues with giving recommendations for pregnancy, but I know you can put a disclaimer in there that we should always consult a doctor. I think it would be very helpful if you would just provide a pregnancy mode that allows us to better calculate calorie burn, or allow us to make that adjustment. Its just frustrating that Fitbit kind of loses all workability as soon as that test comes back positive.

Yes, please do this! Even just a basic pregnancy mode that pauses menstrual tracking would be v helpful.

Please do what the original poster asked! Being able to log skipped periods due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, or miscarriage is so important to keep the Menstrual Health Tracking feature accurate.

Add start and due date, log weight gain with a suggested pregnancy target range, set goals around pregnancy weight gain and exercise, adjust calories based on additional needed when pregnant, include pregnancy safe suggestions and challenges, add option to log breastfeeding postpartum, have options to log women’s health trends outside menstration

Yes this would have been fantastic. Also guided meditation sessions.

There is ONLY a menstruation tracker in this app. However, I'm pregnant. Alot. And it would be nice to instead have options for tracking pregnancy, info on wellness visits, save data for comparison with future pregnancies, etc. It also changes your regular cycle so even just having the option to add a pregnancy so it skips period notifications.

A lot of the data is inaccurate for me as I am currently pregnant.

Calorie adjustments. Resting heart rate, etc are all hugely different during pregnancy.

Garmin has a pregnancy tracking mode, please add it to the app.

Please include a pregnancy setting that takes into account changes in nutritional needs, exercise, weight changes, resting heart rate etc. Many of these changes happen as soon as 2-5 weeks into pregnancy, and with the majority of your users being women, it is vital that we be able to track our health while pregnant more than ever.

I do think they are taking steps for adding a pregnancy feature. I enrolled my data in a study in April 2022 when I was 4 months pregnant. I haven't gotten any kind of updates from it or anything so I'm not sure where there are on this process and if they're still considering the feature. I imagine it takes a lot on the backend of things to make it a meaningful feature.

Mods, do you have any updates or insight?

Because of no pregnancy mode I've basically been unable to use my fitbit usefully since 2018 due to having 3 babies close together and being out of the habit of wearing it in between. I wear a fitbit to track my weight, calories, activity and periods - all of which completely change whilst pregnant and breastfeeding. Come on Fitbit; there must be SUCH a big market for this!

Hey there! I already voted on this topic some time ago. It says it’s still under consideration. Is there any indication as to when it will be decided if a pregnancy mode will be developed or not? I would like to know. Of Garmin can do it, Fitbit can as well right? I’m pregnant at the moment and it would be super useful if my heart rate scores would reflect the fact that there’s two hearts beating inside instead of telling me my condition is declining.

I have no idea. I just had a baby and it def would have been helpful.
Fitbit maybe just too lazy to figure it out.

I voted and commented on this before. This has been “under consideration” for nearly 5 years. Most other fitness trackers have this capability. For this reason I recently moved on from Fitbit and got an Apple Watch. Seems they are getting rid of features instead of adding them and I know many people who are choosing different fitness trackers.
