Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

Putting in when you get pregnant or the ability to be able to track when you last took your birth control or a reminder of when it's time to take your birth control?

Hi @Jessica.rose, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

It's been a year since I sent my original request so I will be unsubscribing from this thread as it's obviously going nowhere. My workaround has been to manually add breastfeeding as an exercise. It's really important that breastfeeding women don't dip below 1800 calories per day as that may effect their supply but the app as it is will recommend below that amount based on activity alone without a pregnancy/breastfeeding mode. I never used the app for pregnancy but it seems ludicrous that they there's no mode that allows for a projected pregnancy weight gain. That data is readily available through various health agencies and organizations. So at this point if Fitbit hasn't implemented it, it's because they don't want to. It's especially ludicrous since I know so many women not just on this thread who bought a Fitbit specically for postpartum fitness tracking, so this just seems like a big middle finger from Fitbit to a significant portion of their user base.

Dear Fitbit,

And I hope you pay attention this time.

All of us mothers, wives, women demand that you add features for pregnant women!

Like all these pregnant/post pregnant women here, I also stopped using Fitbit when I got pregnant, because it was no longer useful for me.

When I used Fitbit, while pregnant, the weight I would log, would put me in overweight/obese category!!!

That’s not an accurate reading.

So please, put an end to our comments, and announce that you’re working on some pregnancy settings!

Thank you.

It’s been YEARS that this has been requested. Fitbit misogynists don’t care about women or their needs.

Prove me wrong Fitbit! Release this long overdue feature (should have need included in the original period tracker release).

In menstrual health under settings there should be a switch when you find out you are pregnant then have a few options for tracking the pregnancy like symptoms of how you knew (morning sickness, mood changes, sense of smell, or just notes so you can add in your own symptoms) testing should be included and miscarriage should be an option as well.

Please, please add this feature. At the very least telling your fitbit fitness tracker that you're pregnant will stop the period reminders. I'm not sure if this request has fallen on the back burner as it was requested in 2018 and nothing has been done yet (now December 2020).

Lol that's how I found out that my wife was pregnant actually. Her fitbit was going insane! I remember it logged her activity levels at a super high level, even though she wouldn't work out at all that day. And there were other crazy signs (heart rate was up and she'd burn like 10 hours of fat). We were both worried there for a bit actually, we thought it could either be a malfunction or it's time for a checkup. And luckily we did end up getting that checkup! Then the doctor gave me the best news of my life 🤗

Currently I just have to keep changing the starting date and length of the next period because there is no way to mark that I am pregnant, when a due date is etc.

Add some sort of pregnancy log/tracker. Why am I tracking a period and fertility days when I am pregnant? There should be an option to add a pregnancy.

I have a baby and I am breastfeeding, How come the fitbit does not take that into consideration? There're calories burnt during breastfeeding that are not been acounted for, therefore, the calorie allowence could be wrong and could then, perhaps, perhaps, if not eating enough, affect the milk supply for some women!?

It has been more than 2 years and nothing changed!

I was shocked to discover today as I was searching to update my status that pregnancy is not included anywhere. Periods are, ovulation is so why not pregnancy?

I noticed that this suggestion has been under consideration for over 2 years now. The first people to suggest it may not be able to use the feature if Fitbit do deem it to be worth their while to add. Fitbit, I'd love to see an update about how long it might take for this suggestion to move from "under consideration" to "coming soon".

The period tracker is ok on Fitbit but without acknowledging that pregnancy can happen to some people, to be honest it's just a bit of a gimmick. The women's health section was one of the things I was excited about on here but it turns out at least part of it is just for show.

Even if all you add for 'pregnancy mode' is telling the period tracker to not count the time in future calculations, I'd be happy.

Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to change calorie requirements too with a simple switch to 'pregnant mode', but we can make our own calorie plan... but I can't tell the period tracker "No i didn't skip a period I'm not supposed to have one right now!"

I wish there was a breastfeeding mode or some kind of manual extra calorie adjustment for breastfeeding moms that actually burn more calories than what it says on the watch/app.

Please add pregnancy options as well as miscarriage and afterbirth options for the period tracking. As well as a way to track the latest birth control options other than the plan b pill.
