Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

What is the update on this feature please? It’s been ‘under consideration’ for years now.

"Under Consideration" for over a year... That is quite some time to "considerate"...

I cannot believe that there is no way of inputting that you’re pregnant into the Fitbit app! It changes your stats on everything, in the first month, my resting heart rate has gone from 51- 59. My cardiac fitness has moved down because of this... my weight is also going to start increasing. So although I’m working really hard to stay healthy, fit and active through pregnancy and was really proud of my fitness journey prepregnancy.... my Fitbit is going to get more and more depressing to look at.

Add a pregnancy setting to make more accurate tracking of cycle! Would be so helpful.

Please add more female programmers, engineers, designers, and medical professions to your team!

We need those who understand the delicate needs of women during this wonderful time of our lives! Having an app shame us because we are gaining healthy weight, consuming a healthy amount of calories, and taking part in our doctor recommended fitness programs is stressful and counter-intuitive to your female user base.

Honestly, if we generalise your user base to 50/50 male/female... how many of us do you honestly expect to be pregnant at any given time? certainly not 50% of your user base! that doesn’t make these features “minimally used,” it makes it a feature that is useful to your diverse community! Men don’t use the menstrual tracker, does that make it a barely used feature? Obviously not!

For the ease of your male dominated programming team, at least let us pause tracking on our periods and please, stop the app from saying that women are obese while pregnant!!! We certainly don’t grow taller while growing a baby inside of us, so why can’t we just pause that part of the tracker?

If you cannot take into account some of the calories and weight suggestions recommended by many of your female user base (programming can be challenging, especially when trying to account for such diversity in the human condition), then at least let us set the app to “pregnancy mode” so it stops shaming us during a beautiful time in our lives... and we can resume our “regular cycle” without the app telling us that our next period will occur in 100+ days after we give birth and stop breastfeeding! This is ridiculous! Not to mention potentially stressful during a time when we should be minimising stress and enjoying our bodies and all the amazing changes happening during that time.

We don’t need this app to tell us about our pregnancy, but at least let it stop telling us that we are being unhealthy or having to constantly delete and edit our periods for 9+ months!

This is utter crap that you removed the initial feature and then refuse to implement a new one despite YEARS of requests! Not all of us are outspoken enough to comment or search for this page... we just give up on your company and go elsewhere. I’m on the border of ditching you myself and I most certainly am already planning that my next health and fitness tracker will be from a more intuitive and thoughtful company.

 Do better Fitbit!

160 thumbs up as of today!

I am currently 7 months pregnant so my heart rate is higher than normal and I weigh more due to being pregnant, I would like pregnancy integration into woman's health as I am not menstruating and pregnancy comes with different calorie intake, overall health, and exercise requirements/suggestions

I just got a fitbit to track my water intake and sleep and activity during my pregnancy and I really wish that I could tell the menstrual health tracker that I am pregnant/breastfeeding so that it doesnt think my cycles are super long. It throws off the predictions when I'm not pregnant.

Hi @Courtahhknee, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

I just upgraded to premium, and I was looking through all the extra stuff. I am being told that I have poor cardio fitness and that I need to lose weight. Bro, I'm pregnant, I have 30 - 50% more blood in my body than normal, of course my resting heart rate is higher, I have at least two more quarts of blood in my body, and it's being filtered through a placenta. And it is telling me I am obese, like I get that I was over weight when I got pregnant, but it was mostly due to the amount of muscle in my legs as my job was basically climbing ladders, chutes/slides, ramps, and ledges for at least 5 hours a day before I was put on restriction.

I know I can just ignore it, but it's still frustrating to see it, I've always had good cardio health, and it makes me feel kinda terrible to see it basically telling me I'm out of shape.

100% This is a must! I was really surprised to learn that Fitbit doesn't have a pregnancy setting, and even more surprised to learn that this suggestion is still under consideration all these years after it was put forward. The majority of women will (hopefully, if they want to) go through a pregnancy at least once in their lifetime and Fitbit tracks and analyses data that is completely thrown out of kilter by pregnancy, such as weight, menstrual cycles, sleep patterns and much more.

I got a notification to get more steps in while I was pushing and as I breastfeed my 1 month old, I would love to turn off the sleep suggestion. 🤦‍:female_sign: I don’t need a better pillow to get longer stretches of sleep...

please add these features and have a new mom on the team to develop the feature!

That is ridiculous! Every 104 days! You would think that they might notice something is wrong. We really need these updates.  I'm breastfeeding and its still trying to predict my period even though I don't get them while breastfeeding.

I 100% agree with you @Cerysina, this is something that should of been a feature from the beginning.

There needs to be a pregnancy feature because millions of fitbit owners get pregnant every year. It's honestly insane to me that there isn't a feature yet but they are releasing a COVID feature soon.

Please please please add a pregnancy setting. I’m sure millions of your users get pregnant every year.
Fitness during pregnancy is so important and some pregnancy workouts would be amazing.
I don’t really feel like there is much use in my Fitbit whilst I’m pregnant and it’s such a shame.
I feel you are so so behind in this field. I just don’t understand why pregnant women are just left out in this way.
huge opportunity to have an entire sector around pre, during and after pregnancy.
something for tracking eating healthy whilst pregnant and after for breastfeeding. Some workouts for during and even after pregnancy as that’s a whole different way of working out especially depending on your birth.
really missing the boat on this one fitbit.
